Ira Einhorn, counter-culture activist, was a co-founder of Earth Day and was emcee at the first Earth Day event in 1970. In '77, his girlfriend, Holly Maddux, broke up with him and left to New York. He called her back to Philadelphia to pick up her belongings--which she did--and then Einhorn murdered her. Over a year later, police found her corpse stuffed in a trunk in Einhorn's apartment. He was found guilty and is currently serving a life sentence.
