I agree with matthew if you mage it with ice barrage or burst you can use tort instead of terrorbird and get more kills because 6 more slots then bird :P good vid thou maybe swap zammy body for sara and zammy book/stole i would focus on more sara items so that you get 1 extra prayer point per worn sara item well gl on another hilt good guide. :)

In some ways it was harder back then, as even though the room was larger, there was a number of glitches that caused you to mess up (familiar glitch causing you to run at her / Zilyana cutting corners, etc).
The room is smaller now, but the basic principal is still the same - run 'n shoot. When it comes to avoiding damage, your best bet is high gear (such as the DFS), proper prayers, and potions.

Sorry to hear that -- your defense/range/prayer are more than sufficient to solo, so the problem must lie in the inventory or technique used.
Try to make sure you have enough distance between you and zilyana before you take a shot, use the radar for your corner to corner clicks, and make sure you click to run before you eat (so you don't stay still / get caught).

I can't really say which ones you can, or can not, kill; however, as a general rule it's fully "possible", just might not be practical (just give it a try =D!). My recommend stats can be found inside the video description -- be sure to give 'em a read.

Well, I have overloads now, so I'm sure the rates would be different -- anyway, I got a Saradomin sword on kill number 6, and the hilt on kill number 13 or 14.

The answer is more or less a "yes", but there's so many variables that it's hard to say for sure.
Example, I don't know how quick you are / what's your playing style / what inventory do you bring, etc. You will, for sure, get less kills per trip due to your range level, but I wouldn't let that stop you if you want to give it a try.
If you want to "be serious", I would recommend taking your range higher -- also, be sure to check out the video description for latest info.
Whoa, good job on vid, tried sara solo some times, once with 80 range 73 def. Now im soloing it 77 def 99 range, and I get atleast 5-6 kills a trip :D
So whoever has low de/range dont worry that you will fail, you will get hit more, and it will take more time to kill Zilyana, but still. Good luck!
Sup I'd like to know if I should even bother trying to solo, I'm 95 ranged (don't think that's a problem), but only 80 defence... Will it be worth it for me to solo? Other stats: 87 hp/constitution, 75 summoning, 58 prayer (very low too :/)
If you're interested, then I would highly recommend at least giving it a try -- it might not be "worth it", as that depends on the drops, but it's quite a bit of fun.
(I would recommend praying steel skin / keep your defense and range boosted.)

Your defense level will hinder you some, but by no means should you let that stop you from trying -- give it a go / adjust the inventories to match your style (check the video description for my recommendations).
A team is fine; although typically people use Godswords / melee for team runs. - Pie

I would highly recommend using range over melee for solo.
1-2 kills can be accomplished easily with your stats; although I might recommend you pray steel skin the entire battle.
The key to a higher kill count is as you said "to master it" - not just killing, but knowing when (and when not) to shoot/heal/switch defensive prayers, etc.
The fine balance of "do I heal now? or can I last in order to save my range boost", etc.

First off, I would not recommend it -- melee is awesome if you're on a team match, but a solo? Not so much...
If you want to give it a try (if anything, for the experience), I would recommend Veracs or a Godsword (BGS/SGS).
Be warned, her melee hits fast, so you'll still want to "hit 'n run" =P. And take care if you pray melee when you strike, as her magic attack is pretty nasty...

The reason we use a Terrorbird and not a tortoise is because of the special ability (run recharge) -- i.e. the primary purpose is not storage space, but running!
You "can" use a tortoise, but you'd waste so much on purple sweets/energy restore methods it would (without a doubt) be foolishness.

Hey pie, Ive got 84 ranged, peaking 85 defence, 92 hitpoints, and 79 summoning, reckon I could do it decent enough to make a profit? Im thinking of leveling my ranged to 90.
The combination of lower range/defense will affect your efficiency, but don't let that keep you from giving it a try.
Pray 15% range/defense for (at least) the majority of the kill, and make sure you keep your range boosted (you'll want to eat only when necessary to prevent long "repotting while running" sessions).
Profit is hard to call, as that might be left upto the mercy of the mathematical drop wheel.

If you're wanting to be more effective, then yes, I would recommend that =P.
However, your current levels are quite enough to get quite a number of kills, and depending on your style, you should be able to get 6 a trip once you get the patterns/switch times. - PIe
The simple answer is yes, but there is a difference between killing her and killing her well.
Your low defense/range level will no doubt hinder your "max kills a trip", and you will also want to pray the highest defense/range boosting prayers you have; however, you CAN still do it, just might not be as effective.

Actually, it still can be done (got 8 Zilyana kills on my last two trips) -- in a way, it's easier, as Zilyana no longer wanders aimlessly (thus cutting corners on you).
The biggest difficultly, is not as many shots per wall, and the fact that Bree now shoots at you 100% of the time -- I was able to remedy this somewhat by using defensive prayers and choice healing (I believe is covered in the video description)
I prefer the old Zilyana all in all, but the new one works too =P! Pi
No, I'm almost 100% certain that you must be 70 agility for the rope climbing.
Now, hypothetically speaking, couldn't we skip the agility and just have a high HP level? That way, we could just JUMP down the small cliff rather than using a rope....just a thought...
Just a note on the whole cliff thing (to you/others) - I was informed that you no longer have to dismiss your Terrorbird for the climb (thank you Jagex!!) ~ Pie
Most of the time, teams prefer higher stats/melee users, and the combination of a ZGS; however, you can always try to form a team with a few friends "just for fun".

Good guide, u definately want to make sure your 68+ slay if u can only get 1-3 kills per solo. W/o 68 summon I find it takes almost 1 whole bird to do kc. U also don't need to dismiss your bird anymore

That would depend how quickly you receive "good" drops -- but all in all, I'd say it pays off, and is very fun to say the least.
If you are hesitant about the price of Diamond (e) bolts, I might suggest using Runite as an alternative (I believe they're cheaper/price fluctuates more).

it's nost as easy as it looks to get a hilt that fast. i'm lvl 128 and i last about 7 kills a trip at sara. and I try doing a solo everyday. but so far these last 4 days have been dry. I've only gotten shard? btw.... were you wearing a ring of wealth?
the drop tables like a rolute table (ik i fail at spelling) theres a normal drop table, with junk/ medium drops, a expensive drop table, with things that are more expensive, like a hilt in godwars. to get to the expensive drop table, you need to get into a certain slot on the normal drop table. then once you get into that one, it rolls to chose a certain drop for you. theres also a charm drop table thing, but that doesnt affect drops.
oh, and if soloing, the row makes the 2nd drop table more expensive items have bigger slots to land in. it also makes the special drop slot on the normal table bigger.. but only works on solos, not with groups

hey pie because it says in wiki the hilt drop rate is 1/350 and the sara sword (not sgs) drops at a rate of 1/110. so this means not by luck you get the sword first before the hilt (not by luck)? thanks
Well, drop rate estimations are merely that ---- estimations.
It's more or less taking the average of players reports, and then producing the "approximate drop rate" (it is fully possible to get two hilts in a row).
Whatever the case, I consider myself a blessed little pie (= - so I won't really comment on the "luck" factor.

The slayer level is to speed up your kill count, as with 68 slayer you'll be able to attack Spiritual warriors -- drastically lessons the time.

Hello wisevideomaker,
The answer is more or less a "yes", but there's so many variables that it's hard to say for sure.
Example, I don't know how quick you are / what's your playing style / what inventory do you bring, etc. You will, for sure, get less kills per trip due to your range level, but I wouldn't let that stop you if you want to give it a try.
If you want to "be serious", I would recommend taking your range higher -- also, be sure to check out the video description for latest info.

Whoa, good job on vid, tried sara solo some times, once with 80 range 73 def. Now im soloing it 77 def 99 range, and I get atleast 5-6 kills a trip :D
So whoever has low de/range dont worry that you will fail, you will get hit more, and it will take more time to kill Zilyana, but still. Good luck!

Sup I'd like to know if I should even bother trying to solo, I'm 95 ranged (don't think that's a problem), but only 80 defence... Will it be worth it for me to solo? Other stats: 87 hp/constitution, 75 summoning, 58 prayer (very low too :/)

If you're interested, then I would highly recommend at least giving it a try -- it might not be "worth it", as that depends on the drops, but it's quite a bit of fun.
(I would recommend praying steel skin / keep your defense and range boosted.)

This is a pretty old reply, but I'm going to answer anyway -- yes, you "can" kill her with a full inventory of sharks just fine (and it's great for practice); however, you will not be able to reach the maximum kills per trip, thus wasting time / money.

Your defense level will hinder you some, but by no means should you let that stop you from trying -- give it a go / adjust the inventories to match your style (check the video description for my recommendations).
A team is fine; although typically people use Godswords / melee for team runs. - Pie

Hallo Rshmong,
I would highly recommend using range over melee for solo.
1-2 kills can be accomplished easily with your stats; although I might recommend you pray steel skin the entire battle.
The key to a higher kill count is as you said "to master it" - not just killing, but knowing when (and when not) to shoot/heal/switch defensive prayers, etc.
The fine balance of "do I heal now? or can I last in order to save my range boost", etc.

Hello RSRoyale,
First off, I would not recommend it -- melee is awesome if you're on a team match, but a solo? Not so much...
If you want to give it a try (if anything, for the experience), I would recommend Veracs or a Godsword (BGS/SGS).
Be warned, her melee hits fast, so you'll still want to "hit 'n run" =P. And take care if you pray melee when you strike, as her magic attack is pretty nasty...

Hello Rabutomas,
The reason we use a Terrorbird and not a tortoise is because of the special ability (run recharge) -- i.e. the primary purpose is not storage space, but running!
You "can" use a tortoise, but you'd waste so much on purple sweets/energy restore methods it would (without a doubt) be foolishness.

Hey pie, Ive got 84 ranged, peaking 85 defence, 92 hitpoints, and 79 summoning, reckon I could do it decent enough to make a profit? Im thinking of leveling my ranged to 90.

The combination of lower range/defense will affect your efficiency, but don't let that keep you from giving it a try.
Pray 15% range/defense for (at least) the majority of the kill, and make sure you keep your range boosted (you'll want to eat only when necessary to prevent long "repotting while running" sessions).
Profit is hard to call, as that might be left upto the mercy of the mathematical drop wheel.

Yes, you should manage just fine, and depending how it goes, you can always bring your range to 95, as that helps quite a bit ^^.
Besides, you'll find Armadyl teams better with 95 range anyway =P.

If you're wanting to be more effective, then yes, I would recommend that =P.
However, your current levels are quite enough to get quite a number of kills, and depending on your style, you should be able to get 6 a trip once you get the patterns/switch times. - PIe

The simple answer is yes, but there is a difference between killing her and killing her well.
Your low defense/range level will no doubt hinder your "max kills a trip", and you will also want to pray the highest defense/range boosting prayers you have; however, you CAN still do it, just might not be as effective.

Well, if I had to choose, I'd take the larger room as well; however, you can still easily get 6+ kills a trip with the proper equipment/knowledge.
My last two trips (months ago) was 8 zilyana -- far from perfect, but not a bad haul.

Actually, it still can be done (got 8 Zilyana kills on my last two trips) -- in a way, it's easier, as Zilyana no longer wanders aimlessly (thus cutting corners on you).
The biggest difficultly, is not as many shots per wall, and the fact that Bree now shoots at you 100% of the time -- I was able to remedy this somewhat by using defensive prayers and choice healing (I believe is covered in the video description)
I prefer the old Zilyana all in all, but the new one works too =P! Pi

It's been about three weeks since I signed in, so I apologize for the the delayed response =P -- if you happen to see this...
As a whole, I would recommend people protect from range, simply because you'll have a higher resistance (armor/prayer wise) to range than magic.
Experimenting is always the key to success, so you could always try to protect range / tank magic, I just wouldn't recommend it =P ~ Pie

No, I'm almost 100% certain that you must be 70 agility for the rope climbing.
Now, hypothetically speaking, couldn't we skip the agility and just have a high HP level? That way, we could just JUMP down the small cliff rather than using a rope....just a thought...
Just a note on the whole cliff thing (to you/others) - I was informed that you no longer have to dismiss your Terrorbird for the climb (thank you Jagex!!) ~ Pie

Most of the time, teams prefer higher stats/melee users, and the combination of a ZGS; however, you can always try to form a team with a few friends "just for fun".
If you're looking for an actual team, I'd recommend searching the forums for a Godwars clan, or checking the Zilyana team thread, QFC: 88-89-168-57921099

Good guide, u definately want to make sure your 68+ slay if u can only get 1-3 kills per solo. W/o 68 summon I find it takes almost 1 whole bird to do kc. U also don't need to dismiss your bird anymore

That would depend how quickly you receive "good" drops -- but all in all, I'd say it pays off, and is very fun to say the least.
If you are hesitant about the price of Diamond (e) bolts, I might suggest using Runite as an alternative (I believe they're cheaper/price fluctuates more).

it's nost as easy as it looks to get a hilt that fast. i'm lvl 128 and i last about 7 kills a trip at sara. and I try doing a solo everyday. but so far these last 4 days have been dry. I've only gotten shard? btw.... were you wearing a ring of wealth?

the drop tables like a rolute table (ik i fail at spelling) theres a normal drop table, with junk/ medium drops, a expensive drop table, with things that are more expensive, like a hilt in godwars. to get to the expensive drop table, you need to get into a certain slot on the normal drop table. then once you get into that one, it rolls to chose a certain drop for you. theres also a charm drop table thing, but that doesnt affect drops.

oh, and if soloing, the row makes the 2nd drop table more expensive items have bigger slots to land in. it also makes the special drop slot on the normal table bigger.. but only works on solos, not with groups

At the time of making this video, I was actually wearing a ROL (due to me being new, and a faulty internet connection).
I now personally recommend an Archers ring over a ROW, but that's subject to debate -- in the end, it's your choice which ring you wish to use.

hey pie because it says in wiki the hilt drop rate is 1/350 and the sara sword (not sgs) drops at a rate of 1/110. so this means not by luck you get the sword first before the hilt (not by luck)? thanks

Well, drop rate estimations are merely that ---- estimations.
It's more or less taking the average of players reports, and then producing the "approximate drop rate" (it is fully possible to get two hilts in a row).
Whatever the case, I consider myself a blessed little pie (= - so I won't really comment on the "luck" factor.
