Ofra's story hits close to home. My ex's mother died of AIDS in the early 90's, via the same mechanism. She was a Horse Trainer who fell in with a bad circle of her racetrack employees after her marriage failed. She ended up living with one of the stablehands who it turned out was an IV drug user and she got AIDS from him. No one is immune to its wrath - not even the ridicuously beautiful Ofra.
