The music is very British, it´s the well-known "Irish Washerwoman". But the Austrians have the manner to play the merriest tune in this hymnic style until unrecognizable recognition... I name this "austrianized", in German "verööst". If You want to see other examples, search for the Dancilla videos of the "Bandltanz", a maypole dance, and compare it with English maypole dances ! The 17th century tune apparently goes back to a church choral indeed...
Elpregonero tiene razon en lo que dice, pero si la gente veden un baile tan correcto y mecanico, quienes ensayaron a aprenderlo. Mas alegria, amigos! Elpregonero is correct in what he says, but if people see such a mechanically exact version of a dance, are they going to bother learning it. Let's see some more enjoyment, people!
To english folk dancers, "Circassian Circle" is simply the name of a dance. This video is of a very solemn and staid version, which doesn't look much fun.
In Liverpool we have a huge circle at the end of the night. All go in, out, circle left, in our circle right. Ladies in & clap. Gents in JUMP &SHout! then swing partners. Much more fun.
Lisa, Chechens aren't Circassians. Yes, in the past, diaspora Chechens called themsleves as such, but since the fall of the USSR they don't do so. Actually, they don't want to be called Circassians.
This dance is related to the Circassians, not Chechens.
thanks..but what means circassian?..ı know circassian people r from caucasia at east of blacksea..caucasia..Dance is different but circassian circle music is the same.play with accordeon..
Circassian Circle's music is Polka and accordeon is not Circassian's national instrument. Polka and accordeon is very common things. I can not see any relation between musics but it's possible that 'Circassian' term is coming from the Circassian dances, like Udge. It's really difficult to say something exactly but i can say that there is no relation between musics.
I agree, much too solemn, the Circassion circle is much jollier!

Si llevas razón, pero didacticamente va bien para aprenderlo. Una vez sabido es cuando se puede improvisar.
Un saludo
