The hair looked better without using the blow dryer. Unless you want it to look that wild? Okay for the artistic world but not in the corporate world. But I agree, that the price for this small bottle is a bit too much. Even the Nexus and others are not as expensive.
When Black women ask me how I keep my hair so healthy, they are shocked to find out that I have a lye relaxer. They do not understand why their hair is breaking & they are using the less strong relaxer, the box perm and resorting to weaves. I rarely put heat in my hair & I load my hair with water, good products, & I reward the company's who appear to care about the plight of black hair. Look for my book that's coming out soon to save black women from the misleading grips of the hair industry.
There are several products that have natural, benefiting ingredients that are half the price of Miss Jesse's. Shea Moisturizer for example at the top of list is Shea Butter, a wonderful moisturizing agent. Miss Jesse's top ingredients are cheap synthetic ingredients like mineral oil, petrolatum, parraffinum liquidum. I read the igredients before I buy and will not enable the haircare industry to make a fool out of me. Black women ask me all the time how do I keep my hair healthy.
The haircare industry rely's on the ignorance of the black public to sell their products. They do this by using black models with loosely curled (good) hair. They do this by putting cheap products like mineral oil/petrolatum, that will do nothing for ur hair. They know this and they don't care. They market no-lye to u knowing it will dry ur hair & eventually break it. The models hair looks that way because that's how here hair looks after it's washed not because she put that crap product in it.
@kimmie6209 The model in this video OWNS the company. She is part asian and african american. And her products are marketed to ALL curly hair types and not just african americans. Her hair is her hair. But the products work for all hair types. Stop acting like every company aimed at black people are out to hurt us or that blacks are too ignorant and a game is being run.
@kimberlykimbrough You're right her hair is her hair. Loosely curled biracial hair, and it will be loosely curled biracial hair no matter what she puts on it, even useless crap like mineral oil. How can u black people sit back & let these people make fools out of u? There are companies who do put good ingredients in their products why not use ur brian & find them, instead of being drones to companies like Miss Jesse's who put cheap useless products, that u can purchase for $2, in their products.
@kimmie6209 While I will admit that their prices are outrageous, their is nothing wrong with mineral oil... Just because you feel they maybe made a fool of you when you bought their products once doesn't mean its a failure with everyone else's hair. I, have , a fully black friend whose curls and hair are brought out beautifully with these products that haven't been done with the tons of others she tries. She also finds this doesn't dry her hair out like the Eco.
I'm good with my $3 and some change Eco Styler gel...this stuff is entirely too expensive. Was interested in seeing what the hype was, and that price tag killed the curiosity. Unless that stuff makes my hair grow 20 inches in a week...I ain't interested.
@hellokittycutie2003 I agree. I used the product and it left a built up residue on my hair. I had to use a special shampoo to get it out of my hair. Now I use leave in conditioners and Vaseline gel to get the same look, sometimes foaming pomade by Paul Mitchell but nothing more expensive than that. My hair is very thick and healthy. I get lots of comments and questions.
Yo...she was really slapping it on huh!...I guess so the "customer" will believe they have to use a ton to get the look...bottom line this stuff is too expensive to be slathering it on like $1 hair grease...No M'am!
Thats a lot of product, imagine how she's gonna wash that out. BTW her hair looks like ramen noodles. Not trying to be offensive. Lol maybe I'm just hungry lol
Miss Jessie's can kiss my ass. Why am I spending almost 40 dollars on products that have CARBOMER and many other crappy chemicals in it. Shit, for this price I want natural products that I can't just buy off a shelf and mix myself. On a positive note, her hair looks cute.
@XxAmberxCherixX hey, do you have any recommendations for products that are cheaper but that work the same way? i want to try this, but i don't want to put out that much money though..
@cheer4sunshine123 YUP. Eco Styler is great. Its a gel but it wont flake and at has a great hold without drying out your hair. It cost me almost 4 dollars for a 32 oz jar. Try it out. It is not all natural but it like i said in my last post I'm not paying a crap load of money for something that isn't natural like Miss Jessie's. You can also try to make some flax seed gel. Look on youtube to figure out how to make your own. Hope this helped!!!! :D
They should not have done the close up. And with her hair texture, any ol conditioner or curling product would have done the job without blow dryers and hood dryers. And god there was so much product in her hair in the application of the second product! Good grief!! Her hair was actually straightening from being weighed down. It was caked! And the price is WAY high...
@kingsmith1991 sorry but the info on the vid said ":natural curly hair". I know "it's still hair", but when advertising something, it should say it as it is, that's all. It looks good still
You do not need all this gunk- make your products ladies with natural oils and butters, can use herbal infusions as leave-ins, don't use silicones and get rid of ALL heat and you will see miraculous changes. I did the above and have not looked back. You definitely don't need this crap!

I agree with @AmaniMaze, this stuff cost a grip and I have very curly (3c curls) thick and long hair I spend about $150/$200 a month between miss Jessie and kcc if anybody knows how I can get the same results for CHEAPER PLEASE LET ME KNOW! Thanks
@indyha06 flax seed gel and coconut oil...the flax seed gel will give you definition and it extremely cheap and easy to make....check out naptural85 flax seed gel tutorial. and then look at other videos with your similar hair texture using flax seed gel
@indyha06 Make your own products honey, that's how you save and keep your money in your pocket. Plus you know what YOU put into your own product. Ebonyskys said it best, making flax seed gel and using coconut oil will do the same trick at a cheaper price.
@indyha06 Eco Styler Gel; you can get a big, 32oz. jar for just $3.99. I have very thick, 4a hair, and this works wonders. A little goes a long way--I've had mine about six months, and I don't think I've used 1/4 of the jar yet.
That looked like wayyy too much product.. and she got the same result anyhow.. just more moisturized... Never used the stuff n this didn't make me want to either..♥
I love the stretch silkening creme because I get nice big soft hair. i believe I am 4a and MJ styling products work like a charm - easy to use and stretched out soft hair. KCCC gives lots of definition but shrinks the hair too much. Most of us grew up with mineral oil or petroleum and we had long heathy hair. If it works it works. Just use shampoo once a month and your regular sulfate free the rest of the time.
There looks to be very little difference, just slightly less frizz and more definition after but I dont think Id waste the time and money to get the end result when the before result looks great anyway.
Thx for the commentary I have 4c grade hair and wonder if this product would do anything significant to my texture. @MamaQuita thx for the info. I was thinking of buying ths but I have the same thick course hair. Not saying the product isn't good just not on all hair grades. I think it would probably work well with mix people and very loose curly grades. Course hair folks speak up.... If this works for you holla
Nice video, but sorry couldn't see enough of a difference for the amount of work and expense involved. Having looked at various other videos, I'm sure a better result could have been obtained from just using a hairdryer and some lotion.
Looking at you videos and many of the videos of people on youtube who use these products they really on work on hair that isn't any higher then a 3c. The only thing anyone above that could truly us them for and as twist/braid out...there are too many cheaper products that allow for the same results with a twist/braid out. I hope you all are working on products for tighter curl patterns if you want to be used by the masses of naturals.
I don't see a noticiable difference at all actually. She could have achieved the same look with any old 3.00 hair gel. Miss Jessie's is ridiculously overpriced for a product that is really only designed for those with a loose curl pattern. People that are 4a and 4b typed such as myself will never be able to get the results of the hair model and it's not right that they mislead consumers to think they can. Even the model above has a silkener so there's no need for a 58.00 product.
Too expensive for me to even try, besides, her hair just looked dry before, afterwards it looks moisturized, but not too different. Also, I think a warmer blonde tone would suit her better than this ashy one.
I love her hair. Her color looks better and her hair looks moisturized afterwards. I have naturally curly hair and I am not biracial, I'm black with soft, curly hair. In order to get an afro, I have to comb the curls out when wet and let it dry. Black hair varies it depends on how the person trains and maintains their natural hair.
I've noticed that most of the models with thicker curly hair, the curly buttercreme, blow drying and a form of twisting or coiling was used to achieve a curly look. If possible can you provide a video with models who have 4a and up hair texture using the products? Thank you
not haitn or tryna start nothing but these people that they have demonstrating the hair they dont look like they have regular african american hair they look like they can be mix with anopther nationaity there hair look too managable when its wet
@dymepyce616 Whats regular african american hair? Do you mean no curl pattern at all? Im confused because all black people have a type of curl... if its small or big, corckscrew or coiled. But one will never know what their true texture is until whatever perm is completely gone from the hair. Perhaps miss jessies isnt the right one for you. Try something else... theres so much out there.
@dymepyce616 I have just went natural and I have naturally curly hair and I am African American not biracial. African American hair in its natural state wet is curly and managable, it all depends on how the person takes care of their hair. Naturally curly kinky hair, whether black, biracial or whatever, looks like this when it is well taken care of.
@saintrail11 I disagree with that statenebt...Naturally curly Kinky Hair, doesn`t look like that (MJ) When WELL taken care of.. Nautrally curly Kinky Hair comes in different curl patterns and when well taken care of the results are : Healthy, manageable, growing, not breaking, moisturize hair..DIVERSITY in Curls. It`s just that Miss Jessies Products are better suited for 3a to 4a 's curls patterns or 4b/4c partterns that has been altered (texturized/silkener) that's all and it's all good.
would miss jessies stuff still work on people that have perm in there hair like if they wanted there hair curly or its only for peole that dont have a perm?
Yea it is expensive, but i only buy during december when its buy one get one free...and it may work for more biracial people....but i'm not biracial and it gives me great results...it just depends on your hair texture it doesn't work for most 4b/4c type hair
That stuff is very expensive and you have to use so much. Also I hear it doesn't work for many ppl but I guess that goes for most black/ curly hair care products b/c curls can vary in so many ways. Guess you just have to search for what works. I'm just not willing to pay for anything fancy but maybe if there was some magic manageability potion I'd pay big for it too. 4 now I don't fight the fro I just go with it.
thats hwat im saying i think these products only work for people that mixed, biracial because there hair is already long and already curly once its wet and blow dried or whatever because when black people with natural hair finish washing there hair it sticks straight up kinda like an afro it dont lay flat down like the girl in the video thats why i dont think this produict is for people with natural hair ( americans)
i agre ei dont know why they didnt put a hands up for this they gave u a hands down i wa saing the same thing cuz all these people there hair is already straight and stuf
That's a lot of product. And the products can be very pricey if you have limited funds. So, this is a style you may not want to do all the time if you want to preserve the amount of products you can keep and not purchase so frequently. I also have a question... would this work on tightly coild 4a/4b hair?
yu waay too much product!....i kinda disgusting...lol but on the other hand it does look better...too bad miss jessies product ingredients dry the hair out and is bad for ur hair in the long run and by long run i mean about a year thats seems abt rite of how long it would take to damage ur hair its ashame wat these product sat they can to but it only temporary wat here really doin is drying the hair out its amazing where research gets u gud thiing i looked it up cuz i been fiendin for tis crap!
I really liked the way her hair looked right after coming from under the hooded dryer and before blowing it out. There is a difference in the before/after, alot less frizz. After she blew her hair out, it looked too big. I would have just left it the way it was fresh from under the hooded dryer; it looked less shrunken and hanged nicely.
yeah, and her hair is not the average african american type hair, wtf!!! they should have used a african nappy hair type (4b) that way 4b people like me know that it woud work in our hair.
exactly i dontknow why they saying go natural and use her products i think they are talking about people that is biracial wit there "normal" and natural hair cuz if u didnt put a perm in ur hair and u wash it ur hair is going to stick straight up not be straight down like th egirl in the video cuz i remember before my mother put a perm n my hair and when she used to wash it my hair used to stick striahg tup after getting from under the water lol adn then she would braid it
@dymepyce616 This was made for people with curly hair be they black white or biracial. The creators are biracial. They don't only work for biracial people. Its alos for people who want to stop relaxing and go natural. It makes a fro feel and look beautiful. btw are you talking to yourself in these 5 messages?
how the hell do you talk to your self? its called commenting on a video and on other peoples messages. i guess youtube messed up my comments cuz i was responding to other peoples comments
I have used Miss Jesssie's before and my results were okay. I do prefer KCCC over this product....but I have to say, I dont see anywhere on any of these videos marketing schemes trying to convince people that its all natural.
All it says on the label is that its good for natural hair. Not that its all natural. Its anyone's fault for not reading a brand mission statement or correctly. Yeah, it has mineral oil in it, so clarify your hair and don't use it too much. IMHO
It was crap on myhair. I'm 4a and 4b- pure crap because of all the silicones and mineral oil. It is good for twists and those with a looser texture hair, but you have to shampoo well to get the crap out. I don't shampoo often and don't need to so I never bought it again.
she got too much ash blonde in her hair. It Almost looks green. With her skin tone she should of had caramel highlights instead of light ash blonde. It looks too bold and it looks dry as hell poor girl:(
No there is nothing wrong with using a texturizer, but why it is people use relaxers and texturizers and say they wont more manageable hair? If you have kinky hair then resorting to chemicals does not have to be the answer. Ok I'll get off my soap box LOL
there was a difference her hair was mad frizzy b4 but I believe you can do the same thing with less expensive natural products. the curly stuff works best on 4a and below hair types and not that great on 4a hair it basically works on hair thats loosely curled.
her hair is beautiful. and the products do make her hair a lot less frizzy. but i do think she applied a LOT of product. too much, in my opinion. also, they said that she has a silkener, which is a chemical treatment. so her hair is not really in its 100% natural state. it still looks great though.
exactly! and the color doesn't help much. in fact, i think it makes her hair look even worse. i don't think that Miss Jessie's is totally natural anyway, especially if they have chemical treatments available in their salon.
her hair is chemically treated with that silkener i believe. I'm not sure of what its called exactly but its overpriced and A CHEMICAL treatment. I dont know why women go there and get tricked
OMG I HAVE HAIR JUST LIKE HER AND I CANT STAND IT!!!!!!!

wow how in the world can they call this all naturals mineral oil is the first prime example that it isn't urg!
NaturalHairBabyDoll 1 year ago
I love the stretch silkening creme because I get nice big soft hair. i believe I am 4a and MJ styling products work like a charm - easy to use and stretched out soft hair. KCCC gives lots of definition but shrinks the hair too much. Most of us grew up with mineral oil or petroleum and we had long heathy hair. If it works it works. Just use shampoo once a month and your regular sulfate free the rest of the time.

way too much product, euww!

too much stuff! Man
BGirlFan 1 year ago
There looks to be very little difference, just slightly less frizz and more definition after but I dont think Id waste the time and money to get the end result when the before result looks great anyway.

Thx for the commentary I have 4c grade hair and wonder if this product would do anything significant to my texture. @MamaQuita thx for the info. I was thinking of buying ths but I have the same thick course hair. Not saying the product isn't good just not on all hair grades. I think it would probably work well with mix people and very loose curly grades. Course hair folks speak up.... If this works for you holla

MERDE1104 1 year ago
Nice video, but sorry couldn't see enough of a difference for the amount of work and expense involved. Having looked at various other videos, I'm sure a better result could have been obtained from just using a hairdryer and some lotion.

sweetkekee84 1 year ago
Looking at you videos and many of the videos of people on youtube who use these products they really on work on hair that isn't any higher then a 3c. The only thing anyone above that could truly us them for and as twist/braid out...there are too many cheaper products that allow for the same results with a twist/braid out. I hope you all are working on products for tighter curl patterns if you want to be used by the masses of naturals.
nell99 1 year ago 5
wats the difference?
lhamilton020 1 year ago

I don't have a silkner and I use the miss jessie's curl pudding and i love it
nmitchell1 1 year ago
I love her hair. Her color looks better and her hair looks moisturized afterwards. I have naturally curly hair and I am not biracial, I'm black with soft, curly hair. In order to get an afro, I have to comb the curls out when wet and let it dry. Black hair varies it depends on how the person trains and maintains their natural hair.
saintrail11 1 year ago 3
It would be helpful if they used a model WITHOUT a silkner to show the true results of the products
morningdew78 1 year ago 5
The before and after look the same to me.
juardine 1 year ago
I've noticed that most of the models with thicker curly hair, the curly buttercreme, blow drying and a form of twisting or coiling was used to achieve a curly look. If possible can you provide a video with models who have 4a and up hair texture using the products? Thank you
ctgwillis 1 year ago
personally i dont like that hair colour.. but shes pretty and i like the before and after

dymepyce616 1 year ago
not haitn or tryna start nothing but these people that they have demonstrating the hair they dont look like they have regular african american hair they look like they can be mix with anopther nationaity there hair look too managable when its wet
dymepyce616 1 year ago
@dymepyce616 Whats regular african american hair? Do you mean no curl pattern at all? Im confused because all black people have a type of curl... if its small or big, corckscrew or coiled. But one will never know what their true texture is until whatever perm is completely gone from the hair. Perhaps miss jessies isnt the right one for you. Try something else... theres so much out there.
ilovemusictolife 1 year ago 2
@dymepyce616 I have just went natural and I have naturally curly hair and I am African American not biracial. African American hair in its natural state wet is curly and managable, it all depends on how the person takes care of their hair. Naturally curly kinky hair, whether black, biracial or whatever, looks like this when it is well taken care of.
saintrail11 1 year ago 2
@saintrail11 I disagree with that statenebt...Naturally curly Kinky Hair, doesn`t look like that (MJ) When WELL taken care of.. Nautrally curly Kinky Hair comes in different curl patterns and when well taken care of the results are : Healthy, manageable, growing, not breaking, moisturize hair..DIVERSITY in Curls. It`s just that Miss Jessies Products are better suited for 3a to 4a 's curls patterns or 4b/4c partterns that has been altered (texturized/silkener) that's all and it's all good.
Jenjenaturals 1 year ago
would miss jessies stuff still work on people that have perm in there hair like if they wanted there hair curly or its only for peole that dont have a perm?
dymepyce616 1 year ago
Yea it is expensive, but i only buy during december when its buy one get one free...and it may work for more biracial people....but i'm not biracial and it gives me great results...it just depends on your hair texture it doesn't work for most 4b/4c type hair
COCOACAMi3 1 year ago
That stuff is very expensive and you have to use so much. Also I hear it doesn't work for many ppl but I guess that goes for most black/ curly hair care products b/c curls can vary in so many ways. Guess you just have to search for what works. I'm just not willing to pay for anything fancy but maybe if there was some magic manageability potion I'd pay big for it too. 4 now I don't fight the fro I just go with it.
ddwalter 1 year ago
why do you have to be biracial to not have coarse texture? Im not biracial...
PLTbyCormie 1 year ago 12
thats hwat im saying i think these products only work for people that mixed, biracial because there hair is already long and already curly once its wet and blow dried or whatever because when black people with natural hair finish washing there hair it sticks straight up kinda like an afro it dont lay flat down like the girl in the video thats why i dont think this produict is for people with natural hair ( americans)
dymepyce616 1 year ago
the girl in the video has a silkener which is a mild relaxer

That's a lot of product. And the products can be very pricey if you have limited funds. So, this is a style you may not want to do all the time if you want to preserve the amount of products you can keep and not purchase so frequently. I also have a question... would this work on tightly coild 4a/4b hair?

I really liked the way her hair looked right after coming from under the hooded dryer and before blowing it out. There is a difference in the before/after, alot less frizz. After she blew her hair out, it looked too big. I would have just left it the way it was fresh from under the hooded dryer; it looked less shrunken and hanged nicely.

exactly i dontknow why they saying go natural and use her products i think they are talking about people that is biracial wit there "normal" and natural hair cuz if u didnt put a perm in ur hair and u wash it ur hair is going to stick straight up not be straight down like th egirl in the video cuz i remember before my mother put a perm n my hair and when she used to wash it my hair used to stick striahg tup after getting from under the water lol adn then she would braid it
dymepyce616 1 year ago
@dymepyce616 This was made for people with curly hair be they black white or biracial. The creators are biracial. They don't only work for biracial people. Its alos for people who want to stop relaxing and go natural. It makes a fro feel and look beautiful. btw are you talking to yourself in these 5 messages?

you should try the Kinky Curly Curling Custard its GREAT STUFF! its healthy for natural hair
BLACKBEAUTY8989 2 years ago
That looks like a whole lot of work. And her hair does not look that much different afterward according to me. but that's just my two cents.
RochelleHansonMusic 2 years ago
I have used Miss Jesssie's before and my results were okay. I do prefer KCCC over this product....but I have to say, I dont see anywhere on any of these videos marketing schemes trying to convince people that its all natural.
All it says on the label is that its good for natural hair. Not that its all natural. Its anyone's fault for not reading a brand mission statement or correctly. Yeah, it has mineral oil in it, so clarify your hair and don't use it too much. IMHO
Caramellow07 2 years ago
It was crap on myhair. I'm 4a and 4b- pure crap because of all the silicones and mineral oil. It is good for twists and those with a looser texture hair, but you have to shampoo well to get the crap out. I don't shampoo often and don't need to so I never bought it again.
MamaQuita0109 2 years ago 26
she got too much ash blonde in her hair. It Almost looks green. With her skin tone she should of had caramel highlights instead of light ash blonde. It looks too bold and it looks dry as hell poor girl:(
Mactyi415 2 years ago 5
she has a silkener in her hair
look at 18 seconds at the bottom left corner
brennaomi 2 years ago
She's 1/2 Japanese so I don't think she has a texturizer. Anyway, there is nothing wrong with using a texturizer to make hair more manageable.
Cairokmt 2 years ago
No there is nothing wrong with using a texturizer, but why it is people use relaxers and texturizers and say they wont more manageable hair? If you have kinky hair then resorting to chemicals does not have to be the answer. Ok I'll get off my soap box LOL
ejeronurse 1 year ago
there was a difference her hair was mad frizzy b4 but I believe you can do the same thing with less expensive natural products. the curly stuff works best on 4a and below hair types and not that great on 4a hair it basically works on hair thats loosely curled.
pyschotictree 2 years ago
I have tried the Miss Jessie's Curly Pudding (with no success) and I think it's definitely overrated and overpriced.
janschild 2 years ago 3
that's true and the ingredients are not natural, there's mineral oil and it's expensive.
bullshit
g6ka01 2 years ago 5
her hair is beautiful. and the products do make her hair a lot less frizzy. but i do think she applied a LOT of product. too much, in my opinion. also, they said that she has a silkener, which is a chemical treatment. so her hair is not really in its 100% natural state. it still looks great though.
buttercuplove24 2 years ago 2
yeah i dont understand why they even offer that service at a "natural" hair salon...her hair looks dry and damaged IMO
FoodNKixs 2 years ago
exactly! and the color doesn't help much. in fact, i think it makes her hair look even worse. i don't think that Miss Jessie's is totally natural anyway, especially if they have chemical treatments available in their salon.
buttercuplove24 2 years ago
her hair is chemically treated with that silkener i believe. I'm not sure of what its called exactly but its overpriced and A CHEMICAL treatment. I dont know why women go there and get tricked
FoodNKixs 2 years ago 2
