  • They are the modern Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazlewood.

  • I typed night nurse expcting for gregory issacs SMH-_-

  • This song is so lush and pretty. I can listen to it a billion times and it just never gets old, it always makes me smile and feel all fuzzy. One of my very favorite memories of living in NY was getting to see Dean and Britta play at the Zipper Factory. <3!!!!!

  • Weird seeing Dean with a Steinberger.

  • 11 people would rather listen to mindless Top 40 bullcrap than REAL music.

  • what the guitar chords for this beautiful song please ? =)

  • Wonderful video. Beautiful moment in time you've captured here, thanks for sharing it with us :-) Dean is just so fucking cool. "Harvard produces good grads after all" (lipupfatty1295) funny.

  • @shadowsaturn

I know Ann Margaret sang the song....very psychedelic guitar.

"....and babe.. you turn my head around"

  • @lipupfatty1295 You win the parenting award, lol! I'd take this over 500 Justin Bieber's any damned day. :)

  • @shadowsaturn you turn my head around

  • Britta you are blessed with being beautiful! And a great voice!

  • gonna try and see Dean August 19th at Bowery Ballroom...it will be a dream come true...he's gonna play Galaxie 500 stuff...just what I need

  • She kinda looks like Meg Ryan and the late Elizabeth Montgomery

  • @williambrown007 you are right!! i didnt realized it. I love Elizabeth Montgomery !!

    Good people exist.

One of the best videos EVER. Wow...Harvard does produce some worthwhile grads after all.

  • what a beautiful song

  • The greatest pop music couple in 40 years.

  • They make a nice looking couple.

  • I have Nightnurse and all "L' Avventura" and "Back Numbers" on my ipod, i never get tired of listenting to Dean & Britta, they just rock, their psychodelic vintage rock sound is amazing, they're bringing something unusual to 2010, cause we don't see any bands with that kind of sound, HOORRAY FOR DEAN AND BRITTA!

  • Britta is one of the sweetest women you could ever hope to talk to. An amazing talent and person.

    -R

  • She`s ageing a bit - but she can be my nightnurse any time.

  • Aging??????

  • Is that a Kitty Hawk aeroplane?

  • She is so HOT.

  • softly touching

  • aw, how sweet. nice video. :)

  • so lovely and sweet tune~I do love it! Lalalalala`~

  • i began to like this song after listening to it 5 times

  • Soooooo Beautiful!!

  • i love nightnurseeeeee

  • Oh le sigh. Dean has been one of my heroes since 5th grade. And Britta, I mean, wow. She looks like an amazing 60's French ingenue in this video. So beautiful.

  • You did a quite wonderful job, sir!

  • Britta was the singing voice of JEM, the cartoon series in 80'. Jem & The Holograms was sooo nice!! I watched when I was like 5 !!! lol

  • they're way cool. yeah!

  • i want to cry....in a good way,.....I guess..

  • Britta Phillips is the Scarlett Johannson of rock and roll. 59th Street Bridge Song.

  • However distressingly morbid his appearance, Dean Wareham is a very talented songwriter/musician.Superb, dreamy tune to listen to, despite Mr. Wareham's forlorn countenance and figure. A very distraught Nosferatu sporting a cheap wig could not best Dean Wareham's depressing image.

None in my experience is better at articulating human misery and pathos

like Dean Wareham can, his most subtle and nuanced of gestures could prompt even the most cheerful to leap off the nearest, tall structure.

  • It occurs to me that I'd like to see these two do a remake of Iggy Popps's "Candy".

  • wow you did a great job on the video....good job dude (or dude-ette)....not sure which lol

  • JEEEEM!!! So cool!!!

  • She was the singing voice of the 80's cartoon "Jem"! I will follow her from now on! She has a new fan!

  • Ya She Was In The Movie Satisfaction With Justine Bateman N Liam Neeson Too I Just Watched It LOL. I Have Noet Seen It In A Long Time. Her Birthday Was Yesterday Too. I Looked Up Her Name I Was Curious. Pretty Wild She Does Music In Life.

  • I love Britta!

  • If you are lucky, you may at some point in your life, live the sentiment of this beautiful collaboration of music and feeling.

  • Beautifully shot video, great song. Bravissimo !

  • God I love this girls voice....siighhh

  • Good song to fuck to in a public place.

  • Grande Stefano!!

  • who needs butter when you can have this!

  • track and video OWN. Lovely.

  • lol shes the girl that sang on the hit 80's cartoon JEM ...as jems singing voice

  • Britta is also the voice of the mom on Morel Oral

  • sounds a little like Miniskirt i think.

  • I fell in love with this song as soon as I heard it.

  • both jems held up well over the years

  • It's a small thing, but the way Britta bites at her coat collar...mmmmmmmmmmmmmm

  • Yes! Very coy and playful.

  • If you're not already in love, this song makes you want to fall in love. Absolutely gorgeous tune and a beautifully romantic video.

  • I absolutely love this song! Months ago I saw that D & B were playing with Keren Ann @ the Bowery Ballroom in NYC. Having never seen or heard anything by either performers but always seeing them highly regarded in the mag Time Out NY I decided to get tickets for the show. Then I came here looking for some of their music. Discovered "this" haunting melody and Keren"s "Not Going Anywhere" another absolutely beautiful tune. It was awesome to see them both perform these songs at that show! TY!

  • britta, you make me proud to be a pennsylvanian... and if you stayed here longer we would have been doing duets.

  • Wow -- just discovered these two -- just mesmerizing.

    RL

  • Transcendently beautiful. Music like this is a primary vanguard of human evolution.

  • Wow Jem's voice has not changed a bit!

  • i think it's gotten prettier with age =]

  • Fantastica esta canción.

  • Lovely!

  • Dean & Britta make beautiful music

  • Deano, you looked tired in Berlin. "And I even spoke to you, and said..." Relax more, enjoy your freedom.

  • gorgeously gorgeous song

  • britta sos hermosaaaaaaa

  • i cant say anything about the song but britta is soo pretty shes soo beautiful i love her movie satisfaction she could do much better..

  • ...

  • huh, that's funny.....Britta sounds a lot like Jem of Jem and the Holograms...(smirk) (wink)

  • Thats because Britta was the voice of Jem!

  • Sigh. That's what he was saying.

  • i think i heard his voice in commercials . ners too.

  • Mais c'est une chanson si jolie, si charmante et si tendre. Vraiment!

  • britta rules. i love jem and love her ;)

  • I like the ending. Not so much we fade away as we.. in the song...

  • Britta is drop dead gorgeous and she can sing her beautiful ass off! How come she's not featured more? I wanna hear HER! do I have to watch Jem & the Holograms to hear HER sing alone? The girl has a beautiful voice!

  • Nightnurse is a new discovery for me...a wonderful visit to my preconscious mind. I'll probably be singing, "I am the nightnurse...." for a few days.

  • First of all, I looked up Britta Phillips because I am a Jem fan- I had no clue she still performed! But the background music to this song bears a striking resemblance to the song in the movie "Carrie" where she is dancing with Tommy. Am I the only one who thinks this??

  • she may have done a version but sly feat simply red was the original singers and makers of this song

  • I actually asked her this on myspace and she replied me!!! How cool.

  • lol strange song. very cute

  • This is such a beautiful song.

  • I love Dean and Britta. :]

  • They make such a nice couple.

  • "que buena que esta britta phillips! por dios!"............opino exactamente lo mismo!

  • que buena que esta britta phillips! por dios!

  • Merveillous song, and two beautiful people...a dream

    Thanks

  • I liked this... but I have to hurry off a to fill the air with some Billy Joe of Green Day or Billy Coragan from the Pumpkins before my brain leaks out my ear from all that mush!

  • Jesus Christ, this one's even better that Words You Used To Say, the first song by Dean&Britta that i heard. I became a huge fan overnight!!!

  • who isn't in love with britta phillips? i'd probably hate dean wareham if he wasn't responsible for so much awesome music.

  • loved it - Ian UK

  • I am a music video director living in NYC. I've done some big-budget videos that you might have probably seen; but I must tell you that I am very impressed by this little piece shot with no money but capturing an intimate moment, something that many "big" directors will never achive.

    Congratulations.

  • I've been walking around singing this song for weeks. Not sure why cocrteau though this video was "sleek". It seems much far from that with the handheld camera work and these almost voyeuristic looks into domestic scenes. Very nice.

  • Forgot to say that she looks STUNNING in that Chinese dress!

P.S. Hope is West Coast and Britta is East Coast...and I have always preferred the latter!

  • Lovely video! Great song! But Dean shouldn't allow such a sleek production...some rough edges would make the whole package a Classic as it should be.

  • Does anyone have the Belltower "Outshine the Sune' Clip?

  • ...Galaxie 500 were so good.Just for my benefit....am i the only person on earth who thought The Belltower (Britta Phillips' band) were absolutely fantastic??

  • Hey, I dug them too. My group Honey Smugglers shared a label (Ultimate) when they were based in the UK, and we had a few good gigs with them here and there. Happy days ! Jody Porter now making good with Fountains of Wayne of course...

  • hey Dean, '90s rock icon status is way overrated (see Cobain, K., deceased)...you're rewards appear to be much more substantial and lasting...

  • Really good singing, nice music. Colossally stupid lyrics!

  • I like this song a lot.

  • I can't get this song out of my head!
