3. The battery is rechargable, the camera can also be used while it's charging. On a full charge you get about an hour and 15mins.

2. I have not tried Sony's editing software that came with the camera as I use a program called Sony Vegas which I find easy to use. Videos can be edited while still on the camera easily enough but it's not the best editor.

1. The camera records in a '.m2ts' (AVCHD) format which when plugged into the computer can be exported into an MPEG2 easily using Sony's own software (youtube accepts this file format). I tried to upload a '.m2ts' (AVCHD)file to youtube as a test but it wasn't accepted.

Hey James, I'm looking at buying that exact same camera and I have a few questions...

1. are you able to upload the high definition AVDHD mode videos to Youtube even with editing?

2. Is the editing software pretty easy to use?

3. How is the battery life?
