It is refreshing to see a major media network not ridiculing the subject. Although the reporter does make the comment that the speakers at the Press Club are "strangely conventional," the implication being you have to be an unconventional nut-job to say you've seen a UFO. While Symington was governor he thought it was his higher duty to prevent widespread hysteria, and I wonder how many people - not just politicians - agree with that judgement call.

the reporter uses the term "CHARACTERS" in the opening comments in the report...this is done to subliminally, right off the bat, discredit and ridicule. While I agree with you that the use of the word "characters" is demeaning, millions of viewers did actually get to see Symington's confession. That's a baby step in the right direction (and would have been impossible without the distribution network of a major channel). It would be unrealistic to expect a major news network to suddenly become 100% honest and above board on the UFO issue.
