I started the temp root, let it run for about 10 minutes and decided to back out like you said but the screen went black and all I could see is the top bar of my phone. I have a Droid X2 Android Version 2.3.4. I couldn't email the file to myself so I installed the file from dropbox. I was running the lookout app, does that make a difference? thats because it is for linux- look at the description in avira, I bet it says linux exploit.

z4root is a virus for android phones, it gives access to system files which is something phone manufacturers dont want.

if you didnt get what I was saying - Z4root is NOT a virus for windows, nor is it harmful for your phone, but it does exploit which is what by definition, viruses do.
