  • "Do I look like a MRS. Star to you? LMAO!

  • Binky!?

If I were that guy and Grover was always coming after me in various jobs, I would consider calling the cops and saying he was stalking

  • this was always funny to me because I have A cousin name Binky

  • Maybe the telegram was for you. Got a waterbed?

  • I love 2:01 "in this light..." AWESOME!!!!!

  • hehe grovers such a punk^_^ funny^_^ lolz... did the guy shoot him self?

  • Pretty funny! Check out Tim Butler performing a singing telegram for an 80-year old woman named Glady's. It's hilarious!!

If you like it, please forward it to your friends and family so they can enjoy it also!

  • I don't think he committed suicide but he probably threw something and smashed it.

  • He DEFINITELY didn't commit suicide, because he was seen in many many clips after this one.

  • ah that bring back memories long live the 80's-tori and willie

  • O_o did the guy shoot himself?? Grover is awesome xD

  • I don't think he killed himself...I think he broke something because he was angry!

  • omg it does sound like a gunshot!!

  • Oooh Grover XD He's awesome.

  • "...you cannot expect me to remember EVERYTHING!" lol muahahahaha! i love this. captain vegetable is awesome too.

  • XD rofl

  • ha ha johnson he lost his hat ha ha

  • これ、20年前に見て爆笑したコントです!今見ても涙がでるほどおもろい。。。Grover,you are 最高!!!

  • the blue guy said hes not uncle j, but the j could stand for johnson

  • i love Grovers personality haha he is the man!

  • lol

  • Yes, and his first name is revealed to be Fred in another skit.

  • I love how he shouts into the peephole!!! And then into the keyhole/doorknob!

  • Grover was apparently saving the best - singing AND dancing - for last! BWAHAHAHAHA!

  • grover was the best!

    i miss him

  • Why would someone's aunt refer to their nephew as "uncle"? I mean, how can your nephew be your uncle?

  • I had to wonder when Grover said, "Another satisfied customer." If Mr. Johnson was a "satisfied"(sarcasm)customer, what would an UNsatisfied customer's reaction be?

  • I'm noticing a few interesting things here. Observe how, when given the water bed telegram, Mr. Johnson never actually denies being named Fred. And it was later indicated that that is indeed his first name. Then, years later, he is entertained by the Squirrel Nut Zippers at Birdland. The lead singer seems to know him (even referring to him as her friend Fred) and puts a hat on his head. Could this be his old friend from Buffalo, finally returning his favorite hat after all these years?

  • I can only hope so, esp after all the misery Fred Fat Blue Johnson has suffered, if inadvertently, at Grover's over-anxious hands. That would be a nice way to settle the Sad Affair of the Lost Hat. :)

  • Do I look like a Mrs. Star to you, In this light, No.

  • When Grover started dancing, I spit out my beverage and almost peed myself. LOL.

  • i DID pee myself!!!

  • Oh my god!! he broke it down!

  • On next Thursday, Uncle Fred will come and fix your waterbed!!!

    LOL

    Grover is so cute!

  • Probably Mr. Johnson still doesn't know Grover that well which is why as soon as Grover knocked on his door, Mr. Johnson opened his door and said calmly to Grover "what is it?" In all other skits, whenever Mr. Johnson comes to a store, restaurant, bakery, etc. and sees Grover working there he says to Grover with anger "oh no, it's you!" In another skit where Grover was delivering a telegram with Elmo and knocked on Mr. Johnson's door, Mr. Johnson said "it's you, go away I'm taking a nap!"

  • Well, this was made in the mid 80's, and Mr. Johnson did not start saying things like that to Grover until the Early 90's.

  • not too funny! this show is for babys i only watched it because my friend sent me it!

  • In this light... nnnnn-no. :P

  • Sooner or later, I am sure that Grover was looking in the classifieds again.

  • LAUGH! I thought I would never dry!!!!

  • holy crap, that does sound like a gunshot LMAO. poor fatblue...RIP

  • that wasnt a gunshot that was more like breaking plates or glass.

  • If it weren't for the house being on one floor, I'd suspect that poor old Mr. Johnson jumped out of a window after Grover drove him bananas.

  • Yeah, it's kind of like the part in the movie, Clue, where the singing telegram gets shot.

  • the bald guy is SO stressed out!! take it easy buddy

  • After hearing all that noise in the end, I think Grover pushed Johnson over the edge, once and for all if you get my drift. x.x

  • Do I look like a MRS STAR to you? Gosh how could Grover get that part dumb youre talking to a man and TWINKle TWinkle MRS STAR???? oh gosh I cant stop laughing at that part

  • I thought that was hilarious! Grover's the best. =)

  • "In this light... No." Priceless moment, so abundant on Sesame Street. Poor Grover, that job really must suck.

  • They r SO CUTE!

  • Slap grover silly!

  • Last one: That is it! My name is Johnson! I used to live in Buffalo, and I lost my hat- my favorite hat!

  • Reposnses:

    1. I don't have an Aunt Frida, my name's not Uncle Jay, it's not my birthday.

    2. I don't have a dog, I don't have an Aunt Sarah, it's not mine either.

    3. I don't have a water bed, I don't know any Binkie!

    4. Do I look like a MRS. STAR to you?!

  • Last one:

Mr Johnson ho ho ho, I met you once in Buffalo. I found your hat the other day, please come get it (tapping dance) right away! From [who is it?]

  • Telegrams:

Just a little note to say, happy birthday Uncle Jay. From Aunt Frida.

We found a dog at Lovely Park, please stop by

and pick it up. From your Aunt Sarah.

On next Thursday cousin Fred, we'll come and fi your water bed. From Binkie.

Twinkle twinkle Mrs. Star, would you like to buy my car? From Ed

  • Actually, I think the second telegram is:

"We found your dog, a lovely pup; please stop by and pick it up. From your Aunt Sarah."

  • In this sketch he is called Mr. Johnson, and in the sketch with the elevator - Grover calls him Mr. Jenkins.

  • Mr. Jenkins is performed by Jim Henson with a different voice. He's built from the same puppet design, but he's not the same character. As evidencd by a lack of familiar characteristics normally displayed by Mr. Johnson when in the presence of Grover.

  • I call him blue guy lol i dunno what the hell his name is

  • His name is Mr. Johnson. It's revealed in this sketch.

  • "Just a little note to say: Happy birthday, Uncle Jay. It is from your aunt Frida".

Could anyone please explain how can it be that Frida (whoever she is) is aunt of Jay (whoever he is), while Jay is her uncle??

  • I was just wondering that myself.

  • Maybe the real Uncle Jay became an uncle only just recently, and as part of his birthday telegram, his Aunt Frida was calling him Uncle Jay in congratulations.

  • "Another satisfied customer." You think he is satisfied, Grover?

Though notice how Mr. Johnson doesn't seem to surprise to see Grover in this case. Knowing his previous experiences with him, you'd think he'd be like "you! How did you know where I lived?"

  • "Mr. Johnson, ho, ho, ho, I met you once in Buffalo, I found your hat the other day, please come get it (tap dancing) right away!" I REMEMBER THIS! Thank you SO MUCH for posting!

  • oh my! i haven't seen this in forever!

  • sawing14s: Thanks for posting all these classic clips...priceless. My kids are 19 and 21 and this brought back some great laughs and memories!

  • L.M.A.O This Is Pimp!! I Loved ALL The Little Skits When Grover And This "Biddy-Eyed" Looking Puppet Met Up!!! Grover, Super Grover Andf Cookie Monster Were My Favorites!! And They Still Are. The Sad Thing Is I Still Watch Sesame Street With My Little Nieces!!! (4 And 7)Yeah, I Know. I'm A "Grade-A" Loser With A Capital "L"!!! L.O.L

  • Nah, only winners can appreciate classic Sesame Street. ;)

  • Can you imagine what life would be like if Grover were in charge of our emails!?

  • I DON'T KNOW ANY BINKY!!!

  • Do you Have the one where he takes Fat Blue's Picture?

  • This is one of my favorite Grover skits! Grover can send me a telegram anytime, lol!

  • It would make the day a whole lot more joyful, wouldn't it?

  • Why is Grover always torturing this guy? He's always messing up his orders at the restaurant, too.

  • OMG, you have no idea how long I've been searching for this clip!!!!! :D I remember watching this as a kid and cracking up(like I'm doing now). I LOVE the line "Do I look like a Mrs. Star to you?" and Grover replies, "In this light, no." LOL!!!!! :D The end was hysterical too!!!! :D However, I think he fainted rather than hanged himself. Thank you so much for posting!!!!! :D

  • At last we know the Fat Blue's name!! :-D

  • YESSSSSSSSS!!!! Finally! I haven't seen this in YEARS!!!!!

  • HOLY SMOKES-OH MY GOD! I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS CLIP LITERALY FOR YEARS NOW! I NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD SEE THAT CLIP HERE! I saw this at my friends house when we were both in 7th grade in 1993!I can't forget when we both watched this when we couldn't decide what to watch on TV!

We both LITERALY wet our pants in great laughter! It was the "Mrs Star buy my car" that made us burst in laughter the most! Again, this clip has been in the back of my memory since then, and Youtube just dug it up!!

  • funny. when i saw this in Spanish they stopped right when Fat Blue closes the door one him.

  • Ha ha! Like dorourke commented, I always loved that line: "Do I look like a MRS. STAR to you!?!"

    "In this light?...Um.....No..."

    Ah, Grover...

    Thanks for posting this one!

  • I love Grover. Thanks for sharing.

  • What's the significance of that crashing sound at the end? I sure don't get it.

  • Probably themole1983's assumption of Mr. Johnson trying to hang himself, only to have the rope break.

  • y would mr jonson wanna hang himself?

  • Put yourself in his place, im sure you would have a reason...

  • It's Mr Johnson breaking something in his (admittedly understandable) rage.

  • YES! I loved this! For years I could only remember one of the funniest lines said by 'Fat Blue' which was "AND I DON'T KNOW ANY BINKYYYY!!!" Classic! Great to see it again in its entirety!

  • Do I look like a mrs star to you? Grover in this light uhhh no. ha ha ha my favorite line.

  • Sounded like he tried to hang himself and then the rope broke at the end.

  • Not likely. I'm guessing he was just throwing something up against the wall in a rage. Kind of like Vivien Leigh in "Gone With the Wind".

  • Please post C drives me crazy along with the PBS Kids Surprise Ident?

  • "It's from Binky."

  • Forget the singing telegram, Fat Blue needs medical care!

  • Doesn't he have a Rolodex or something? I'm pretty sure he could go through it until he found whoever it was that sent him the message.

  • But y... But I... But I'll be... Ohhhh! NEVER MIND!!! lol

  • Thanks for uploading this...4 stars!

  • This is alot better than the later one where he trains ELMO.

  • Grover's got some good moves.
