  • I love this song, one of my all time favorites, honest!.. But having that fan blowing air just so that his hair will go back looks so gay lol

  • この流れからのLIVEは初めて見ました!寄せ集めだけどすばらしい!!

  • The start of this video makes me want to kill myself.. FUCK

  • great video man!

  • Vai, Sheehan, McAlpine and Donati?WTF?

  • incredible mix. props hcirig

  • Piękna muzyka, brawa za montaż , słucham zamiast robić św. porządki :))

  • HOW CAN SOME ONE BE THIS CLEVER?!??? D:

  • nice editing job. it blends very well. fire garden suite is one of my favs by steve vai. right behind "tender surrender" of course. great job though

  • THAT IS NEVER tony mcalpine MAN !

  • DONATI RULESSSSSS

  • I was wearing a headset and at the start of this vid, i though there were flies! hahaha! It bugged the hell out of me. xD

  • is that tony macalpine?

  • Aun que no es de mi agrado... es muy bueno !..!/

  • I get so tired of fans talking about guitar players like Mick Mars,Ace Frehley,Slash,etc...those guys SUCK.....Vai is the real DEAL, the truely best GUITARIST in the freaking world;some of these ppl need to get a freakin' clue.

  • @Wayneman117 are you a guitar player sir ??? if you are,you won't make a comment like that...

without Ace there would be no Dimebag or Zakk Wylde

and Slash + Mick Mars have their own influence on other people..you as a musicians should know this...

im a big fan of Vai but i don't judge other musicians based on their skill only..

  • I creamed.

  • I love these videos, thanks so much to share...I appreciate a lot that we can see the influence of "Frank Zappa" in his works sometimes, and it is not to disguss me at all.I'll always remember the show with "Zappa";at this time,i knew nothing about "Steve Vaï",like almost anyone else.A long road full of wonderful music since that time. "God bless Steve".

  • Amazing! Thank you so much for making a collection of these performances and building Vai's Fire Garden Suit, I was think about doing it a while! Congratulations for the work.

  • CRAZY!!!

  • este cabrón es un dios!

  • steve vai was already into progressive music just before Dream theater became what they are now or even before they were known.

  • Amaria tocar esta um dia...

  • Great compilation!! Thanks for it!!

  • @KarateMastR57 Gotcha ... a reference would have been nice to us Johnny come lately's on this video :)

  • @KarateMastR57 Are you talking about Dream Theater or Dragonforce? Fire Garden came out in 1996, 2 years after Dream Theater's Awake album (1994) and right before their Falling into Infinity album (1997). Petrucci's progressive guitar style was pretty hot at the time and a lot of guys were emulating this, including Steve Vai.

  • i love the zappa quotes

  • Those flies make me uncomfortable.

  • @KarateMastR57 U missunderstooooood med LOL ROFL LMAO WTF?

Haha, i meant i hear alot of fire garden suite in DT-DS..... Listen to the song and see what i mean!

Btw, i love Vai and this vid is killer, so noone missunderstands that too :)

  • @HastOsth the song is from 1996, the performance is taken from various shows (london '00, bucharest '98 i think, and minneapolis '07)

that "old egyptian thingy" is inspired from the song "one night in bangkok" from chess.

  • @hcirig It's not inspired by it is Bankok. Steve Vai admits this and it is credited to the writer on Fire Garden. Check out the comentery on the Live from the Atroria DVD for the whole story.

  • What year is this from? Both the berformance and the song, cause im hearing ALOT of dream theaters, this dying soul in this song. Sure its just that old egyptian theme thingy, but still that are som riffs that are the SAME :)

  • @HastOsth The Dream Theater u r hearing must be in your head bcoz u r obviously deaf.

  • @cfrancisco74 Listen to both songs first then open ur mouth...

  • @HastOsth Open my mouth? These aren't my words, but Steve Vai's as evident on the commentary on LIve From the Astoria. Check out Fire Garden Bankok is credited to Björn Ulvaeus & Tim Rice. I dont want to argue. Believe what u want.

  • @cfrancisco74 U still dont get it...ITS DREAM THEATERS SONG THAT SOUND SIMILAR TO THIS NOT THE OTHERWAY AROUND.... Hope that makes it clearer for you! :)

  • @HastOsth My apologies I must have misread ur earlier comment. I was speaking sritctly about the song Bangkock.Thought u were speaking of bangkock and Fire Garden suite. MY BAD! What I was trying to relay was Steve Vai has a cool anicdote about how he thought he wrote "Bangkock."

Never heard the DT song I will check it out.

  • @cfrancisco74 What are you talking about? Steve Vai is obviously a huge influence to Petrucci.

  • @progginger Ummm...Never said he was or wasn't. Could be. IDK. Melodically maybe, but technically they r worlds apart. Vai plays alot of lagato while Petrucci plays alot of stacato especially his runs. They both play alot of weird note groupings (wierd to me), but John Petrucci plays alot of chromatic. They did both go to Berkley School of music though. They r both great.

  • This is collaberation!

  • Steve's master piece :)

  • CREEPY, ASTONISHING!!!

  • Muy bueno...

  • Comment removed

  • This is Bangock and not fire garden suite...

  • @TheTenderSurrender it's the 2 songs

  • @TheTenderSurrender Bangkok is a prelude to Fire Garden Suite, so some people consider it part of the song. This is pretty obvious if you listen to the themes in the song, which are very similar to the themes in Fire Garden Suite.

  • Can some shoot whoever filmed this. It´s Vai for Christ sake, we want to see people play, not get seasick...

  • So great to listen to and see. There's some footage I had never seen before,I just adore Steve Vai.Thanks for posting this :)

  • Would love to see it performed in full on one of his tours. A great compositional work with a nice Benny/Bjorn cover thrown in

  • Breathtaking!!!! Magnificent. Absolutely brilliant. One of my favourite ever. Bravísimo Mr Vai!!!!!!

    Thank you very much hcirig

  • Very good Job!! Tx
