Putting the mirror down there is an amazing idea! I'm not pregnant yet and i'm not even planning for the moment, but i'd like a day to have a water birth, so i'll remember it. Thank you for sharing this!
What a wonderful video! So inspiring! I'm due the end of March [for my first VBAC] and needed some encouragement! What a testament to our wonderfully made bodies!
What an amazing video ! Thank you so much for sharing it. As a mother who is trying to venture on my first vbac at home, videos like this inspire me. With the help of the Lord I hope I can do it too ! God bless
first off very well done, i am inspired by you.. im on baby number 5 with having a 1st c-sec with my 4th child and am hoping to have a water birth with this baby.. im only 18 weeks so long time to go yet..
I was just wondering, i noticed that as soon as he was born that there was a rush of blood and the midwife was very certain on needing a cord clamp quickly.. i was just wondering the reason for this!
@samc2379 Thanks! I wish you tons of support and strength on your VBAC journey!
Baby's cord snapped as he was coming out, which is what the rush of blood was and fortunately my awesome midwife saw it right away and called for a clamp. His cord was only about a foot long, which is why it happened.
Great Job! Jessica is also my midwife and I will be delivering baby boy #3 later this year. She gave me your link at my appointment today. I was considering using my garden bathtub in the master bedroom instead of a birthing tub... do you think I would bennefit more from renting the birthing tub rather than my home garden tub?? Thanks!
@dentaldorkab Thanks! It really depends. How much access is there around the tub? I know that's one thing I've heard about a birthtub vs a bathtub is that a birthtub has more access for the mw/doula/etc to get to you and baby for both your comfort and the actual birth. I also really liked the depth of the tub, and the fact that we filled it the day before and it was still warm. It also empties really easily vs worrying about your water system. Talk to Jess about it!
amazing - you did a great job, any reason why the cord broke? did that cause any complications? how soon did you deliver the placenta and did you stay in the tub for that?
@TheMomofOz Thanks! The cord was only a foot long, so it snapped with just the force of him being born. Fortunately the midwife saw it and clamped it right away so nothing negitive happened. I was bummed he didn't get the full benefit of the the cord blood though. I delivered the placenta between 5-10 minutes later and did stay in the tub for that. I got out after my husband showered and came back to take baby so I could get out, so about 10-15 minutes after his birth.
I can't believe the doorbell rang! :)

@Zarikailah Beautiful Birth, Great job. Very steady and quick thinking Midwife pinching the cord with her fingers and then clamping. Very impressed.

Congrats!!! You did great! I'm hoping for a vbac myself and I noticed you all were in the mountains. What state are you in, if you don't mind?
