  • I hate how people give full credit to only modern-day Morocco for this beautiful Andalusian tunes, if any of you had the slightest idea about where the Umayyed came from, you wont be limiting this to North Africans only. The Umayyed originated from mecca but their capital was in Damascus and after the Umayyed dynasty was overtaken by the Abbasid dynasty they FLED to North Africa AND Spain. So this tune is NOT just Moroccan its arab from all over that Middle Eastern area.

  • beautiful oud solo; never the same twice!

  • A good book to read on muslim spain is The Ornament of the World: How Muslims, Jews, and Christians Created a Culture of Tolerance in Medieval Spain by Maria Rosa Menocal

  • Amazing! ....romantic!

  • Can we all stop fussing in just listen to the music! There'll be plenty of time to debate the origins of the music but right now and while this is on let's all just listen to its beauty. And by the way its true what they say Music is a Universal language and it doesn;t stay in one place or have one origin but has many origins and comes from many places.

  • well andalusians were native of spain back on the time of the moorish era so the moorish ppl can claim the return to their stolen land by any means whether they muslims or jews or blacks so andalusia is a dream which can be true any day

  • @baeboki Im andalusian. And you are a fuckin ignorant.

  • he plays with your heart!!

  • Not just morocco, in fact arabs were the minority of al andalus and were regarded as the elite while the majority were the berbers (north africans) and spanish muslims which were called 'mawali', jews were in spain before muslims and gave aid to them to take the land...but it doesnt matter who was there first..it matters what they've done with the land...clearly muslims made al-andalus a prime example of islam and i thank allah and them for such treasure. salam

  • That looks like a bigger than normal oud. And if the video is right way round, he playing left-handed.

What sort of oud is it?

  • Interesting discussion on this panel! It's a very cordial and entighting debate ! What are you arguing about anyhow? Is it who got the most biggoted and backward nation in the world? Don't worry guys, you all live in one !

  • who cares about the origin ... just enjoy the devine music besides jews are arabs too regardless of what they might like to think ...

  • Fantastic

    :-)

    Andalusia is un forgotable

    :-)

  • i just think that people that are interested in andalusian music know that its from morocco. im tired of people saying its jew or gypsy or turkish or something. its good to see some real videos on youtube. tnx for uploading.

  • oud aint jewish!

  • Awesome !

  • absolutly nothing to do with jews or jewish. actually jews were just a minority back in the era of moorish andalusia. this is purely North african Arabo-spaniard art at its best. al andalous was the center of the earth when Muslims coming from Morocco reigned spain for over 8 centuries. back then london "which was considered civilization" was like a village compared to cordoba or sevilla.

  • @Moroccan4lifeone from Marocco? XD.

Morocco was not in spain, the berebers did, morocco its a new countrye,oh yes i know, the Dictador of morocco kill you if you think different! North africa at that time was "BERBERIA" .....or Mauritania at the roman empire, but never morocco.

And our heritage has a lot to do with Arabs, not the berebers!

Abderraman was from Damasco! and the omeya as far as i know are not berebers.

  • @maicolin 75% of the Moorish armies that conquered u dumb ass country of spain were "Amazighen" berbers. Tariq ibn Ziad the leader of the Moorish Armies was berbers. go to cordoba and savilla do some reasearch u dumb ass. Moors were looked upon as Arabs because they spoke Arabic and were 100% Muslims. but in reality only a few of them were chaamis aka Caanan Arabs. the conquest took place from Morocco. everything was organized from Morocco not damascus as u say. you are pathetic .

  • @gsxrful True it was the best work both Arab and Berber did. I think the number of Bereber was high because the location of north Afica regarding Spain. but even though Arab were less than Berber they did great deal and contribution. I counted the dynasty between Arab and Berber and I found that we are equally or slightly less. And look at the history of Umayyad dynasty who built the Great Mosque of Córdoba and the last kingdom Nasrid dynasty .. peace

  • @maicolin i wont reply to you because u are not even worth repliying to when u have the basic knowledge needed to talk about the topic we can have an intelligent converstation until then your comments will be ignored and deleted go read a book or two. authetic ones not the ones written by queen ellen . i feel sorry for people like just barking without any facts. you are a spanish gypsye u should know better who your grand fathers are they are Berbers predominently.

  • I read a lot of books about my country, the problem its that you are from a countrie with no FREEDOM and the books or history its controlled by your dictador.

You and people like you dnt like history, you only like the things of the history ho sound better for your country or religion.

  • Berebers predomineltly are my fahters? so,exaplain me why do i dnt look like a bereber? why people confuse me in europe with an Arab or turkish and never with a marrocan?

I now at 100% that one of my ancestors was a omeya king, the last one in spain.

So,not bereber, maybe arab. Im not a gypsye,i dnt look like an indian.

  • @maicolinn Moroccans are your ancestors love it or hate gypsie. i never said all Moroccans are berbers there are Moroccan Arabs as well and yes most of those who participated in the quest of spain were berbers . heck their leader was Tariq ibn ziad a pure berber. obviously u lack knowledge about berbers. Berbers ruled egypt and rome you degenerate ignorant. I'm partly an Arab and a berber and proud of it. so eat ur own shit and chocke on it for being a fool.

  • @maicolin fuck morocco, andalusians we are not morocco, fuck spain too

    FREE ANDALUSIAN REPUBLIC

  • @Moroccan4lifeone andalusians we are not "SPANIARD" FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FUCK SPAIN!!!

Im ANdalusian from ANDALUCIA. NOT SPAIN,

  • @Moroccan4lifeone Just to make sure you guys get something the Moors were in Spain for 800 years indeed. But, throughout those years they lost power and territory in fact in less than 200 years they almost lost half of what they conquered of Spain. So, to say the Moors controlled "Spain" as a whole for 800 years is bs, although we talking here about music, but just wanted to clarify.

  • @Bjjownsu10 listen dumb hater the language u are talking now which judging from your lame channel is portuguese right? well portugal was under Muslim Mooorish control as well this is why most of the word u speak in portuguese language especially scientifical terms come from arabic . and there is no such thing as latin it's a vague term not an ethnic group . go watch zemmour's videos you lame jew lover.

  • @Moroccan4lifeone What is your problem? How am I hating? I am not denying anything that you said, what's with all the aggression? and if anything you are a dumb hater! and the word latin does exist and it almost makes you seem as if the truth hurts you.

  • @Bjjownsu10 Spain dont exist when Andalus. In 700 yrs only exist Andalucía Kingdom, and Asturias Kingdom. Spain is a actual creation. The "moors" are ANDALUSIANS, Andalusia is my culture and my country.

  • @ylahumanidad I know that, but I said Spain instead of saying the Iberian peninsula, but you are saying Andalusia is a mix of Roman and Arab cultures?.

  • @Bjjownsu10 Ok, Yes, Andalusia is Arab (Omeya) + Baetica (roman state in Andalusia)

  • @Bjjownsu10 Andalusia consists of Spanish, Muslim, Jewish and Christian cultures. Its what makes it so beautiful. Of all regions in Spain, Andalucia is the least Spanish. Andalusians look different as well because of the ethnic make up. Darker skin, darker eyes, and even their Spanish is very different.

  • @Lotrfan99 Andalusia is Spanish. Spain for the Spaniards.

  • @Bjjownsu10 What the fuck is your point? I know Andalucia is in Spain. I lived in Spain and I've been to Granada, Malaga, Cadiz, Sevilla, all of the cities. You're stating the obvious without really understanding the essence of my point. Reread it.

  • @Lotrfan99 My point is muslims and jews who are not native to Spain should not claim Andalusia as part of them.

Eres espanol o arabe? Mixta? O eres puro espanol catolico? Y q problema no puedo ver alla?

  • @Bjjownsu10 FUCK YOU AND FUCK SPAIN

  • @Moroccan4lifeone I think what was meant is that because Sephardic Jews lived in such close proximity and shared many similar cultural elements as their Semitic brothers, the music transcended onto them. Andalusian music isnt just an Islamic culture. It comprises of Muslim, Jewish and Christian cultural elements. During the 14th and 15th century there were plenty of Jews in Morocco and Spain. Meknes was considered a capital of Jewish culture and the Toledano were from Morocco.

  • THIS IS NOT JEWISH YOU DUMBASS

history of this music began in morocco and developed in the time morocco was in spain for 800 years with the arab/islamic culture

    this music has morocca-spanish heritage

  • thats correct alot of ppl mistake music frm al andalus to hebrew music its not related wat so ever- dont get mad these are the ppl were educated in american public schools they r pretty much dumbd down n know nothin about the world lol

  • You dumbass, in Southern Spain the Jews and the Arabs lived together and developed a distinct style of music in Andalusia. Be proud.

  • @Droomjacher Morocco was in Spain, motherfucker? your are a fuckin stupid, Andalus is a original culture, from arab-roman origin NOT MOROCCO

Stupid nazi from Morocco... FUCK YOUR STUPID COUNTRY

  • @Droomjacher Morocco didn't exist by time. Andalus had been under "moroccan" control during only 2 centuries (Almoravid and Almohad eras), the rest is arabo-andalusi Spain.

  • tarik is a great artist;

he's from tetuan, a beautiful town in the north of morocco,it is known ,by its multi-cultres(islamic-andalus-spanish), as an artistic town.

"buena suerte para ti y para todos los artistas de tetuan"

  • NICE REALY NICE

  • Does anyone know what Tarik means?

  • its a name

  • tarik in arabic meens ''the nocker''.

In space there is a star that makes a nocking sounds, (proved in researches). it is written in a verse in the holey quran. in that verse: god explains the star then says to non believers, and how do you not beleive in god? tarik meens ''the nocker''. therefore, muslims use that lovley word as a name. many non-believers were stunned thinking how did mohammed, thousands of year ago know this if he didnt go to space, as it was almost impossible at that time

  • Tarik means way in arabic! maybe there is another meaning, but I know this one!

  • I have known Tarik Banzi for ten years, and I'm happy that he is getting some exposure on YouTube. He is a fantastic oud player and percussionist.

What you won't see on YouTube is that he is also a great painter and photographer. In addition he is a very humble, compassionate, generous, and personable man, really a first-rate human being in every way. His music is great, but what you see here on YouTube on only the tip of the iceberg.

  • Beautiful playing & arrangements, Tarik.

    Thanks for sharing with us.
