thanks on Iron Butterfly. not sue on Vanilla Fudge. i dont see where they were ever 5 members and i cant make out Carmine Appice in the pic. i thought the guy sitting looked like Chris Hilliman but it is not the Byrds or Flying Burrito Bros....?
@giblet1967 At 2:11 is a picture of some later iteration of Country Joe and The Fish. That's Country Joe McDonald seated and Barry Melton standing, both original members. I don't recognize the other guys in the picture. At 1:26 is a band that doesn't seem to be on the lineup for any of the days. Perhaps x21x12x2012 can say.
@giblet1967 The posters below are right, it's an early iteration of Iron Butterfly. But although they were scheduled to play at Woodstock they did not.
i remember i heard this song on an airplane many years ago.. and i remember wanting to find out what song it was but never found it :( but then today i heard it again and i was smart enough to google it and here i am :)
Scott McKenzie did not appear at Woodstock. He appeared at the Monterey International Pop Festival, in June, 1967. "If You're Going to San Francisco" was the theme song for this festival, the first of its kind anywhere.
@AnAnimeGirl Probably because we think back to what could have been instead of what we got, more greed, unemployment, stress, an economy in free-fall. What happened? Maybe it is because we know how things could have been having lived through the sixties but l wouldn't have traded living in any other time. I think we were so fortunate to have lived through the sixties. Peace
@woodhausen Did you enjoy or are you enjoing San Francisco? I like the place very much too. In fact I when I was there I thought of this song, and hummed it while I was walking around the Union Square with my wife and daughter in 1986.
I believe human power.
