  • I love your videos! So much fun! We just started doing this too!

  • the clip you linked isn't high quality

  • its so amazing how you can see the sky moving, its like proof of the earth's moving around the sun

  • Sweet.

  • where is this at? i've been trying to find a good place to watch the perseids.

  • is this clip urs or cd I plz use it if I dont claim it as my own? plzzzz

  • what was the shutter speed?

  • are the crossing lights in the sky planes?

  • That is also the most stunning view of the Milky Way I've seen on video!

  • where were you and nice video :)

  • Incredible time lapse!!

  • wow, i'm impressed!

  • are those cop boats?

  • no campers on the other side of the lake with flashlights nd car headlights

  • @tmophoto what lake/ where on the lake was this taken?

  • @werbinator I was going to ask the same thing...the red and blue made me think they were cop boats too!

  • Nice

  • um. how is that a meteor shower. those are going too slow. those are planes idiot

  • What called that place where did u take taht Movie?

  • lol wtf you dont know english lmao .. that did not make sence

  • 120, please refrain from such comments, as not everyone on Youtube is a native english speaker

  • AWSOME 5/5

  • omg.

  • WOW! respect man, very good job!

  • This is just excellent! :-)

  • awesssoooomeee!!!

    earth is a spaceship

  • that's so cool. you can almost feel the rotation of the earth

  • hey, what lens, iso, and exposure time did you use? looks great!

  • canon 1ds with a 24mm f/1.4 lens iso 1600 i think and probably about 8-10 sec exposure.

i have since switched to a 1d markIII camera and shoot at iso 2500 now

  • I was learn but I was fear got hot spot for long?

  • I wish I could see the stars like that. All I get here in California is a few pinpricks of light. Occasinally I can see the Milky Way, or at least I think that's what it is.

  • you can always go up to the mountains?

  • wow soo pretty!!

  • Good job. The star Antares (in Scorpius) disappears behind the mountain on the right at :06 and the planet Jupiter (the bright reflection in the water) at :08. The 'teapot' in Sagittarius follows them behind the mountain.

Your right about the meteors. The only likely one is at :16, the other objects are aircraft or satellites.

Thanks again - that was fun to watch.

  • Great capture.

  • how do you get the camera to pan so slowly, i wanna do that!!! Awesome video!

  • i use a motorized tripod head that was originally made to drive a telescope

  • thanks, i hope there not expensive cause i really want one now!

  • Wow.. that was just ridiculously amazing XD

You're so lucky to have been able to capture that. There's so much light pollution in the big cities that you can't spot more than maybe 5 stars in the night sky :(

  • That was beautiful! I've never had a chance to see the stars and the Milky Way so bright and clear...it's incredible! Thank you so much for sharing, until I have the money to travel places, this is the closest I'll get to actually seeing stuff like this. You couldn't have chosen a more gorgeous location, either! Thanks again for sharing!

  • From the beginnin to 8 seconds of the video, there is a big circular object in the lakes reflection. Is that the moon, a star or a galaxy like M31?

  • i think its a star or a planet, i am not sure. at 6 seconds you can see it on the horizon

  • Wow, that is just amazing. Nice dark skies and the reflections really give it depth. Nice job!

  • wow ,nice..whare was this filmed ?

  • near aspen colorado

  • thank you,you are lucky to find somewhare dark enough for this type of photography, here in the UK we have so much light pollution now that the only places are the far north of Scotland, some arts of Wales or at a push the far SW of England,so a choice of 3 places all more than 250 miles away & with the traffic we have even the closest place (Exmoor)a takes 4.5hr drive to get there..

  • very beautiful I must say...

  • your work is absolutely awesome!

  • Amazing! Mahalo for sharing!

  • Beautifull!!!!

    Thanks for showing us!

  • That is freakin awesome!!! I like the pan.

  • Over how many minutes was that done and what was the FPS? Just curious because I'd like to try some timelapse with my Cannon SX 100is.

  • not sure exactly how long it was but at least a 3 hours probably more. i think i was doing 10 sec exposures every 10 seconds (no gaps in between exposures.) if your camera cant keep up with that kind of rate shoot as fast as it will continuously shoot.

    t

  • Incredible video!!! How'd you get the star field so vivid in the sky? That seems almost fake though I'm sure it isn't. Is it a camera setting? Also, what was going on across the lake with the lights? Looked like police lights at the start and a search light at the end. VERY COOL STUFF!!!

  • i use a canon 1d mark3 camera and a 24mm 1.4 lens (very expensive combo.. about 5600 $ i think)

it was a bunchof hippies driving around on the other side drumming and jumping into the lake once it started happening (about 3am) i shut the camera off and left

  • AWESOMEEEEE

  • That was a milky way arm right..?

  • yep thats the milky way

  • Was there a cop pulling someone over in the beginning?

  • I've never seen a meteor shower before. Thanks for posting this!

  • THAT WAS EFFING AWESOME.

    THANK YOU!!!

  • great work! That is beautiful.

  • awesome..

  • These are airplanes, not Perseids :/

  • awesome

  • Amazing! where was this shot? shall we expect some great visuals for the up-coming total solar eclipse this august? I doubt I'll find myself in China or Mongolia during that time of the year next year.

  • how the extreme slow pan?

  • motorized tripod head

  • what do you use to do such a slow pan?

  • Wow gj man.. u have some great vids up,keep it up :)

  • just breath-taking

  • Pure noctambulant grimness.

  • what the hell are those flashes near the lake towards the end?

  • cars

  • those are sattilites only short flashes will be meteor because with long exp you lose the movment of the no longer than a split second meteor

  • wow! it's like heaven...

  • What was your ISO speed and how many seconds between each frame? The stars are so bright!

    Truely amazing.

  • probably around 1600 iso no seconds between frames and about 10-15 sec exposures

  • Very nice

  • what camera was used?

  • canon 1d mark 3 and a 24mm f/1.4 lens

  • Oh wow, thats beautiful!

  • In coventry we got clouds, LOTS OF CLOUDS! ARRRRGGHH!!

  • five stars !! awesome video, what the name of the program i have to use to make a 3 and half hour video become a 17 secs video?

  • That's cool=]

  • Just awesome!!What a beautiful 17 seconds!

  • it was actually about 3 and a half hours :)

  • That was soo cool with the pan. It made the earth seem almost fake against the space background

  • Wow, that came out nice..

  • Amazing!

  • nicely done

  • Thats pretty incredible

  • Where is that taken? The milky way is incredible!

  • took it near aspen colorado, its grizzly reservoir near the end of Lincoln creek. paste this into google maps 39.07704247384315, -106.61664962768555 i cant post links in comments

  • Seeing the milky way like that was amazing!

  • Hi, so beautiful. how did you record it ?

Where was it taken? i've never seen the milky way like that!

  • Wow one of those UFO's landed at the end

  • they look a lot like planes or satellites or something slow...cause in comparison with the cars, you would expect the meteors to be a lot faster and less lasting...the shot is still one of my favs though...

  • i think there is only one in this one towards the end. the rest are planes satellites etc.. meteors are only on the screen for one frame... a quick flash

  • What camera do you use?

  • this was a canon 1ds

  • Awesome!

  • beautiful!

  • so pretty

  • Great Video! The great image of the center of the milky way going across the sky is worth it alone. Amazing footage.

  • hmm..those meteors kinda look like planes cause they're going across the whole sky instead of just streaking and burning out. (although I am used to looking at shooting stars next to a city, so I don't see as much)

  • yes there is only one meteor in this one, the rest are planes and satellites. it is about 16 seconds in and shoots straight down a little to the right of center. its fast.. only one frame.. blink and you miss it

  • Great video

  • love it!! thanks for sharing!

  • I actually saw a LOT of meteors during the video! This is beautiful.

  • awesome!
