  • caught red handed Walter Lee !!!! xD

  • shes the best ever book it best actor ever

  • 9:31---Hava Nagila?

  • in the book the bar is called the green hat

  • @flippinllama they must have changed the name because "kitty kat club" would sound more like a strip club than bar in the days they made this movie.

  • How a mother loves her children...

  • I wish she was my mom. I'd actually be nice to her.

  • Different from the book.

  • @StopSocialismUSA Yeah, for some reason, in this version, when Lena gives Walter the inheritance money, it's at a bar. I wonder why they put it in a public place. In the 80's version, it happens in the house like in the book. And for some reason, they still cut out the scene with Walter asking Travis what he wants to be when he grows up and that he'd give him everything.

  • @SirenSima

    Yeah that's true! :O

  • @HorsesRuleBigTime The scene with Walter and Travis would have been nice but for some reason, none of the film versions have it. *shrugs*

  • @SirenSima

Yeah i guess they thought that wasn't very important :P

  • if he would have opened that liquor store he would have drank all the liquor he's an alcoholic lmao

  • @too2sexy Don't get high on your own supply LOL

  • I never stopped trusting you, just like I never stopped loving you! (Classic)

  • Thx so much ilovesidneypoitier!!! My aunt adores Sidney Poitier she's always wanted to marry him. Mama looks so disgusted with Walter Lee at the bar no wonder he avoided looking at her. I wouldn't be able to look my mother in the eye if she looked at me like that either.

  • @njoseph20 Tell your aunt we can share him, LOL!!!

  • Good gift for her, put her to work.

  • Mama stiffed the bartender for a tip haha

  • WALTER IS MY LEAST FAVORITE CHARACTER!

he is such a bratty cry baby.

    MAMA IS MY FAVORITE CHARACTER!!!

she is so strong. I think she did the right thing buying the house. Liquor and money are like the only things important to walter. He doesn't need to open a LIQUOR STORE!

Also, don't you think Ruth has been a bit racist towards "them wiiite people?" calling them "cra***rs"??

  • @lovepeaceicecream227 I love how you starred out Cracker, like that's a real derogatory word. Good Job.

  • @lovepeaceicecream227

Considering this is made in 1961, she was being quite nice.

  • Walter is such a crybaby

  • now tht i watched i dnt got to read that boring ass book .....thnk wahalie

  • nice little house!!

  • its ok but i have to watch this movie for a project and that sucks out all the good moments the movie has

  • 9:08 and the drama is far from over yet!

  • posted on my bday ^__^ lol

  • Walter Lee had some growing up to do and it seems to be a theme in todays society... race ethnicity and sexual orientation are handicaps still and people still judge based on those things...

  • it's not his money to begin with how disappionting for a person to be so useless

  • I heard that she said im going out to get my boy...got get him mamma go get him!...

I felt so bad when she went to the bar i wanted to cry for it was just so bad, she should have back handed him when he offered her a drink...poor momma so hurt.

  • mama picked a cute house

  • I cried when she opened the box of gardening tools. There's too much of the film left for it to end happily, but it's such a beautiful moment.

  • 52seconds just made me feel so sad

  • She allowed her son to pursue his happiness in life. She had to let him do it for himself. Without inabling him. How will he have learned his valuable lesson unless he had to fail. That was the blessing....

  • LOL I Love MAMA She got her Change LOL

  • walter lee is a brat!!

  • i'm not sure it's so much contempt she feels for him as profound dissapointment. it's always crushing to learn that someone isn't who you've thought them to be.

  • His mother's face when she finds him at the counter is priceless! You can read all the contempt she feels for him.

  • that was the WRONG MOVE, mama! you shouldn't have trusted a fool like him with the money

  • It might not have been the right move, but Walter Lee needs something. He needs motivation; to step up, and be responsible. Yeah, he acts like a fool, but wise folks are reformed fools. Mama only did what she thought was right for him, and for her family.

  • true true.
