why are the marlins considered more important than the canes according to city officials????? the OB should still be standing and going strong, the marlins probably won't last beyond 20 years even with their new stadium
I miss the OB. I know it was old and not in the best shape ( big plumbing problem) But they should have never let it get that bad. All my Miami people know..the OB was it. I know other places and teams love there stadium...they took care of it. It's the Miami way to do things half ass and let it go down. shame. i miss it.
Donna Shalala is a criminal for agreeing to the idea of turning the stadium into rubble. May she burn in hell!!!! Fucking Bitch!!!!!! I've been going there since I was three years old - Dan Marino was a rookie and the Canes won their first of many championships. I don't wish hateful things on people but for her I gladly make an exception. I hope she walks into traffic!
and that came against teams like Oklahoma,Nebraska,Florida State,Florida, and Notre Dame
To Boise State fans(who's team has won 20 str8 at home),if you schedule teams like the ones I just listed...maybe you just might gain the respect that you've been demanding for.
Pretty sure your delusional.58 game winning streak ring a bell?name me another team thats come close to that record.those stadiums ain't shit compared to our house.
@m2diggs Thats because Florida plays in the SEC. 4 SEC home games every year. Miami has just as many cupcakes and you know it. If Florida was an independent they could schedule Toledo and East CArolina every years also, lol.
You know what man,Florida does the same shit right now.both teams play good teams and both play cupcakes.the only difference is that Florida hasn't been able to maintain a winning streak that even comes close to 58.poke fun of the Miami team of right now,but back then, the 80's Canes were way better than your Tebow led Gators.btw, where can I find your athletic director's number so i can tell him to get some balls and put Miami back on the annual schedule?
@m2diggs I'm sure you can find his number on line, lol. No team in the SEC will ever have a win streak approaching 58 home wins. It just doesn't happen in the SEC. Tell Jeremy Foley I said hi when you talk to him. I'm sure he will get Miami put back on the Schedule for you. 28-26 seems like a nice rivalry, lol.
No SEC will ever have a win streak approaching 58?you should do a little research my friend.Alabama won 57 str8 home games from 63 to 82...one game short of Miami.now you should have said no modern SEC team could come close to 58,but you didn't.
Yea,you love those 80's Canes so much. you say so many nice things about them.*cough*bullshit*cough*.
28-26 all time and 4-1 this century.2013 feels so far away.*sigh*
@m2diggs That was before expansion. I'm talking the present SEC. It is very difficult to get through a SEC schedule without a loss. If you want to say 1963 to 1982 is modern....well fine. But it's not present. I like and support the Canes and there's nothing you can do about that. Did you call Foley about the schedule, lol.
Well you didn't mention the whole expansion thing in your last argument and what's the importance of it anyways?what impact has Arkansas and South Carolina really made to the SEC?A winning streak is still a winning streak and the Gators will never come close to Miami or Bama whether Arkansas and The Cocks stay or leave the SEC.
That S.O.B won't return my phones.chickenshit bastard just like his football program!!!!
I think they have than a decent shot of finally making it.they've coughed up plenty of opportunities in the past including last year.another year of experience under their belt and they should be better.wouldn't hurt though for Jacory to put on a few pounds.
Being as the team is struggling, I guess they needed a new stadium to draw more players to want to come to Miami. When the team was dominant, that kind of offset the fact that the stadium was pretty old already in the minds of prospects.
we didn't struggle in 2001 in the Orange Bowl. when we have the talent and win big, the Orange Bowl became the most intimidating environment in the United States. dolphin stadium will never have that.
its up to us the fans to show up to games and make noise and make the stadium rock!! i went to the last 3 home games ucf, wake and vt and the ucf game was embarassing.. an empty stadium. and the wake was a little better ... and the vt game was a nice sized crowed that made noise, even the commentators were like dolphin stadium is starting to feel like the orange bowl, of how loud, and raucous we got.. its up to us to show up and rock the stadium n make a new tradition
The loss of the Orange Bowl sucks for the city of Miami. The only good thing is that I live like 10 minutes away for Dolphin Stadium. I will be sure to go to more games. :)
Well it was supposed to be good things that happened to miami while at the OB. We are tired of seeing that play over and over and over again. But thanks for the compliment though.
i live in bakc of the orange bowl stadium man it hurts me to see the orange bowl being demolished all the saeats from the left south corner fell today cuz they broguth it down i wuz like omfg cuz i cant believe it i just heard a big BOMBE! and uiit whas the seats fell
loved the tribute - some great footage - brought back a lot of memories - I can't believe that the bozos are tearing down a landmark with so much history. makes me sick.
One of the reasons they claim the OB is no longer useful because there's no parking. So the City of Miami is going to build a new stadium in the same spot. Guess what, it'll have no parking.
Follow the money.
We're going to miss you OB. Thanks for the memories.
i herd they were going to blow this stadium up soon i dont want it to cause of all the history from the perfect 72 dolphins to the awesome 01 hurricanes and all the good national championship games played here. got to be the best and most historic stadium in my books.
theyre not going to actually blow it up. either let it sit for like 7 years and watch the weeds grow or knock it down and build a soccer/baseball stadium there..sad.
on an Canes blog this guy has, he posted up pictures of the cranes in there tearing up what used to be the family section down by where the players run out of the helmet..It was really sad at the "Farewell to the OB" game, all the upper deck was torn out. As well as the infamous WestEndZone
At least the greedy city of Miami had the respect of dismantle it rather than blowing it up like they did at Bobby Maduro the old rundowned baseball stadium. Concerts, and political and soccer events of relevance also took place there over the years.
The era of of excellence and the multiple National Championships made me feel like I was #1....those are my rings too! Thank all of you for the good times and the parties in the Grove and Miami Beach. Long live the Canes!
i hate MIAMI soooo bad... but i hate even worse to see them without the orange bowl... its a sad day to see the orange bowl go with the canes playing like that..
What used to be known as Joe Robby will never replace the OB. I've never been there, but it's one of the stadiums I've always wanted to see a game at.
i tell you what. if they build the marlins stadium there. they better leave something there to remind us of the old lady we call the ob. that place has a heartbeat. dont kill her completely.
we should keep the orange bowl alive there is so many memories there like the 72 dolphins perfect season and all the great memories the canes have gave us over the years
please save the ob. just do alittle work on the supports for the lights and redo some of the facilities. that place has enough tradition to be considered a hallowed ground.
So many great memories in that old stadium...some of the best times in my life have been spent on hot fall afternoons or balmy nights at the OB..SAVE THE ORANGE BOWL!!!!!!! GO CANES
