@DeadBl00d It would take going to each server that piratebay runs on to take it down, and some people are actually talking about taking up arms to defend it.
And by the way, how do the "fines" and penalties, relate to the damage, or "harm" caused? Penalties were never meant to make the harmed party rich, just whole.
Here's some trivia, the US government has figured out that with thermo-depolyrmization a 175lb. body can produce 8 gal. of fuel oil. And, what's left can be used run power plants, or make tires. They're going to build refineries outside the FEMA camps.
All of that data had to originate somewhere. The government IT guys are going to be busy chasing all that stuff to it's origin. Who's paying for all this law enforcement for these big companies? Who's supplying the court, and judges for this? Isn't this international terrorism? How are libraries going to work now? Will we need a license to read a book? Or, newspaper?
@joebananatube Universities & university libraries need to register all the work they have & pay the necessary legal fees. This probably also goes for ordinary public libraries. When purchasing a book or newspaper you acquire the license to read those. The same thing that you can see before a movie starts on DVD accounts for printed media. Just like with movies & CDs, you are not allowed to make illegal copies of the book or the newspaper.
@GaolisVideoLog Why do libraries have copy machines? What kind of license will we need to listen to the radio? Did you know in England they have "TV police"? And, I siht you not, they have to have a license to watch TV. Over and above cable costs, and "pay per view". What's an "illegal copy" of electrons formed into digital signals, and reformed into audio, or visual signals? In actuality, there's nothing there, it's a concept. How can you copy nothing? Everything is a concept.
@joebananatube Part 1: In libraries you are allowed to make photocopies of a limited amount of pages. You are not entitled to photocopy an entire publication. Even for university readers, the lecturer is bound to pay a distribution fee. Depending on your country you will have to pay a fee for TV, radio, internet. In Germany, recipients have to pay taxes to the GEZ. Just the posession of 1 device forces you to pay. Whereas in order to broadcast you have to pay to the GEMA.
@joebananatube Part 2: The concepts you are talking about are called "intellectual property" & are protected by international copyright laws. An idea, is as real as a car. Even if there is only a digital copy or unreferenced quotation that has been distributed without the proprietor's permission, one can sue the redistributor within beforehand set restrictions. E.g. within some forums you can copy & paste without asking permission (with some exceptions). Ray William Johnson did it
@GaolisVideoLog I beg to differ, an "idea" is an abstract, as in concept, can't be weighed, measured, held, dropped. A car is is "concrete" (I know, their metal, I didn't make up the designation) it can be measured, weighed, and crashed, causing actual damage, not imaginary damage.Every single thing we experience, see, hear, think, is just electrical impulses in our brain, every memory, dream, feeling, is all in the mind.
@joebananatube And, with the garbage they have on TV, they should have to pay me to keep one in my house. TV used to be free, the advertisers funded everything. Then came cable TV where we get to pay to watch advertising.
@joebananatube Part 3: It should be noted that Adam Smith's concept of the invisible hand does not work in reality, because it requires the absence of "intellectual property", copyright" & cartels. Anyone therefore propagating a laissez-faire policy of the government, as is the case in the US & e.g. the Philippines is an idiot. Because markets do not regulate themselves in favor of the consumer. Never did. The entire US economy shows you why it doesn't work.
@GaolisVideoLog "Intellectual property", now there's a concept. (oh. I kill me) come on that was kinda funny. Every thought that has ever been thought, has been thought before. How can one prove that a thought is their very own. The ones that think they can own random electrical impulses that radiate from their being, well, that's just crazy.
@joebananatube Last Part: Lastly I would like to point out that several US companies have made themselves liable against the same copyright laws that they put up. Even several US residents have done so, making life for e.g. Hongkong-Chinese-, Filipino-, Indian- residents harder. This includes stuff not even coming from the US. Even US pharmaceutical- as well as movie studios have done so. But I do not want to blow the commentary space here any more. Have a nice day.
Piracy isn't right.. straight up, regardless of people's thoughts on it!! Stifling share sites, websites which might even have a copyright video is just not on!! Apparently 150million users registered to MegaUpload (R.I.P, more reliable to view things than license laws shit allow, site), what are the Justice system going to do about them? Send 150m threat emails, send all 150m to jail, block them from viewing 'net. Piracy causes anger (ban money, it causes grief) but censorship will even more..
I was listening to everything you were saying up until most of your claims turned into lies...especially minor child executions for non violent offenses. Im against SOPA PIPA, and ACTA, and every single piece of legislation that would censor the internet under the mask of anti-piracy, but there is so much in this video that is just 100% false.
I'm sure jailing 25% users of the internet are going to great things for the economy lol..
