Since 1990 the Led Zeppelin version has been credited to Anne Bredon/Jimmy Page & Robert Plant, and Bredon received a substantial back-payment in royalties.[3]
Just for clarification, Jimmy Page did NOT "steal" this song. He credited it as "Trad", which is how the song was credited originally. Anne Bredon did not come forward until the 1980s so there was no way for Jimmy to know that she wrote it.
Jimmy at least admitted here that it was never completely his song. It reads traditional and Page in the credits on the original album. This is the Zepp version of course.
really nice guitar work, but man I just can't stand to watch this vid the closeups of your face and orange aura is just a little to freaky and kind of scary man I don't know, weird for sure!
Wonderful job. You're right, you definitely do not have a voice like Plant, but really, who does besides Plant himself. But what you were lacking in the vocals you more than made up for in the guitar. The phrasing was EXCELLENT. I also like how it ends on the intro to Stairway, random, but it fit exceptionally well.

Great job on the song, but the video is too much. Part 2:24 especially. This rock dude, sorry to say this but I don't want to see an old man with glasses singing this song. How about next time you put some makeup on or something. A costume, slick the hair, grease it up, anything but those glasses.
How stupid are you?...Why do you have criticize this man that gave this his averything...Besides age doesn't matter, have you seen Jimmy Page lately? he's also old, how 'bout some respect here...GREAT JOB WITH THE SONG DUDE!!!
umm they never took credit for writing "babe" they followed suit on what joan baez did listing it as traditional.. so this isnt one of the songs they took credit for.. and baez is the one that made the mistake not zeppelin
Outstanding job on a song that would seem to be difficult to tackle, especially considering you're following Led Zeppelin and many other greats (but especially Zep, probably the most famous, and perhaps most powerful, version). You totally held your own, and don't worry about not matching Robert Plant on the high notes, he can't hit those anymore either! LOL Seriously though, your voice and playing were excellent here, just a really fine job!
Thanks, Robert9x13! A little something for those not big on Jazz Standards. Of course, I won't stop doing those, but a little break for a while to keep things interesting. 8-)
Thanks, L'il Mick! This actually seems to be better in Mono. YT has some wacky compression that goes hog wild in Stereo. Glad you like it though. More on the way! 8-)
Yes, the compression thing is a problem - especially during a quiet spot - however, if you go to "Independence Day" on my channel the problem is not evident! Duke uploaded that onto my channel from the USA - not from my end. The music was resampled at 48Khz using Pinnacle version 12 ... it's all a bit odd and I have wasted over 300 hours trying to find a solution! YuTube ... gissa job! lol
Far out man! - Thought I saw a double neck geetar around the first chorus, with an extra pair of hands! - Thought I'd discovered the secret of the Bodine Virtuosity. Then I checked if there was anything funny in this cigarette, but no.
Top stuff. A welcome and unusual diversion from The Bodine.

Thanks Timmy! There's so many great tunes to pick from to do, but I've been diggin' this tune since I was a kid. I've heard the Joan Baez version of this song, too. It was so different than Zeppelin's version that it almost didn't sound like the same song, but she did it before Zeppelin did it.
It's hard for me to realize that you don't have a full band and a studio going on here... :) You're one of the best musicians around, Diesel. What I like most is you've got a great vibe and always put your definitive mark on the music. Kudos, my friend...kudos!
Thanks, Suze. 8-) I actually have a studio, but I've been making my videos with Computer software instead of my studio equipment. If it wasn't for trying to video record the playing, I'd use my studio. Oddly, I haven't turned my studio equipment on since I started making YouTube videos. Gee, I hope the stuff still works!
Hi elviradark! I don't know if Robert Plant sings like he did 30 years ago anymore. I wish I could've added the screaming parts, but every time I tried to do them, I broke out laughing and had to re-record. So I just re-adjusted the tune where I could sing it normal. Glad you liked it. 8-)
Hi shabdadune. They're rebuilding the engine in our tour bus, but the mechanics can't find some of the parts, and forgot which ones are missing... so there's no schedule for our Georgia dates yet. LOL & 8-)

What an amazing version !
Guitar and vocals are just great!
I love the deep bass too, glad you got that in.
Joan Baez had a voice, but too formal and trained I felt,Plant did a fantastic job.
This covers the middle ground, and very nicely indeed !
