  • EXCELLENT defender

He plays for BvB and I think is pretty tough to sign for my team(Bayern) , I like him,he is a very good defender , in some years would be same as Vidic(who knows maybe better). Borussia Dortmund must NOT sell him , with the other youngster(Hummels) will have the best defender duo in Bundesliga.

  • Sigh. Thanks for fucking this one up Rongen. How nice it would have been to see Subotic play for the US.

But hey! At least we got Gale Agbossoumonde coming up! One of the worst players on the worst team in the Swedish league!

  • @DaPhils He wouldn't be the same player he is today. It's nice that he says that he learned some of the mental parts of the game here in the states. At least that's something that we can claim we helped him with.

@everyone else saying he's Bosnian and not Serbian, he is what he thinks he is. Whether you accept what he thinks is irrelevant.

  • GO TO REAL MADRID

  • he should be on usa!!!!!

  • i fuckin hate assholes who click on the video just to fight/debate on religion, country & stuffs like that rather than the individual itself

  • How the fuck can he be Bosnian?! He was born to Serbian parents in Banja Luka (Republika Srpska , not Bosnia), and plays for Serbia.

  • Lots of speculations about who Chelsea are going to buy next as a CB. I'd love to see him play side by side with Ivanovic.

  • for such a young guy he is so down to earth.

  • He was born in SFR Yugoslavia not Bosnia. Bosnia obtained independence in 1992, Subotic was born in 1988.

  • Excellent player, and a nice person too.

  • Great job in getting rid of him rognen

  • on je bosanski pravoslavac nije srbin jebo vam on mater ! lik iz Banja Luke.

  • @volimBIH al si ti zajeban lik...sta je bosanski pravoslavac ? srbin!!!

  • @volimBIH

He plays for Serbia not Bosnia.

USA, Germany, Bosnia and Serbia wanted him in their national teams.

He decided to play for Serbia. He declares himself as Serbian. He sings Serbian national anthem before every match.

I guess that makes him Serbian by my opinion.

Although it doesnt really matter, he is a very nice guy and a great player with a great future and all people in Serbia are very proud that we have him in our national team. Best of luck Neven, Serbia is with you.

  • hes a serb!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • he is the most expensive 21y defender in the world

  • hes coming to arsenal! him and vermaleen at the back will be amazing!

  • Gooner !!!!

  • Serbian !!!

  • He must go to man united and than play with Vidic that will be the best defend in the priemire liguee

  • Hope Man Utd sign him. Subotic & Vidic, raw Serbian power.

  • @revolution90908 hehe hez not bad...would be good if they did.but i hate man u

  • @autonomo12 ROFL! You gotta be kidding! There is no such thing like Bosnian nationality. Neven Subotic is SERBIAN who was born in Bosnia as I'm Serbian living in Slovenia.

Neven had the opportunity to play for the national team of Germany and the United States, but opted for SERBIA.

  • Nevene Srbine!!!!

  • is das dein ernst? santana is zwar gut aber subotic ist ja wohl besser

  • Ah, Neven. What might have been if Thomas Rongen wasn't a moron.

  • und wenn er weg is jammern-was nützen so viele millionen am ende?

  • Arsenal.

  • Jeste on Bosanac ali je Srbin.

  • Does someone knows whats the name of the song in back???

Jel zna neko kako se zove pesma u pozadini i ko izvodi???

  • Heja BVB!

  • What a great guy he seems to be. I hope he will come to Arsenal now that Zapata seems to be out of the question.

  • Hes going to arsenal

  • A Bosnian success story! Good for him!

  • Bosnian my ass. He is Serbian.

  • No you moron, he was born in Bosnia. That makes him Bosnian. However, his ethnicity is Serb. He hasn't even acquired Serbian nationality yet, since he only started playing for them in March of 2009.

Not Serbian. He just plays for their team.

  • You are thinking in passport terminology where you 'acquire' your nationality as citizenship. This is wrong, as they are two different things.

A country and a nation are also two different things. A country is a physical entity with boundaries that are enlarged by conquest of territory, whilst nations are only enlarged by higher birthrate. Increasing the population of a country via immigration and raising the population via indigenous birth rate increase are two completely different things.

  • Bosnia is a country now, I was born on it's territory and I don't need anyone to tell me where I was born. But what you have to understand is whilst the term ethnic Serb is used often, Serbdom is not an ethnicity it's a nationality. Serbs are a nation, who live in many countries around the world, and even though many of us have Bosnian passports, remember that's a country - not a nation.

I know this is hard for you to understand, that's why people like Thiery Henry are somehow French.

  • I understand fully what you are saying, he said that Neven was "Serbian" and that in fact is not true at all. He may be an ethnic Serb, apart of a cultural "Serb Nation" but he is Bosnian. I deduced that you were referring to Nation in a metaphysical sense, rather than in a physical sense.

For example, I am Serb by ethnicity, but I was born in Croatia, therefore I am Croatian by nationality. When people ask what am I, I say Croatian. Unlike many people, I place my nationality above ethnicity.

  • I don't think you do. You confuse nationality with citizenship. Yes you can tell a westerner that you are Croatian because you are a citizen of that state as long as it exists, but if your parents are Serbs then you are a Serb. I could have been born on Mars, as long as my parents are Serbs, then so am I, because their blood flows through my vains, not martian sand. There is no Serbian etnicity, we have many diffirent ways of living, what ties us is a common name and therefore origin.

  • I'm sorry, but you can't dictate to other people who they are based on your own ethnic theory. Nationality and Citizenship are the same thing. It saddens me that your so ethno-centric like all the other idiots who started war in Yugoslavia.

I am Croatian by nationality. Serb by ethnicity. I identify myself as a Croat. You think I am the only one who identifies like this? Your wrong.

Its funny that you mention blood. People are so stuck on blood lines like there's a such thing as Serb Blood?

  • No, not the same thing once more. I'm a nationalist yes, and i'm entitled to my opinion, i'm afraid it's people like you who wish to shut me up mate, not the other way around. And don't diss dead people please.

Yes people are stuck on blood lines, because they exsist. You indentify yourself as a Croat. Well your not a Croat buddy, most Croats aren't real Croats either. You are as Croatian as Antonio Rukavina is Serbian! You represent those who validate Croatia and i disrespect you for that!

  • 6. I don't diss dead people, I diss dead war criminals. I don't consider war criminals to be human. This includes, Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, Tuđman, Izetbegovic, and Milosevic.

    7. I think we both have differing but equally right views of nationality or citizenship, depending on who or what you reference.

    8. Like i said before, do you think there were croats or serbs 2,000 years ago. No. They were slavic tribes. Were really all the same. Live and let live.

  • Nationality and Citizenship are not the same thing. You could be Croat with Serbian citizenship or Serb with Croatian citizenship. For example if you are born in Serbia and your parents are Egyptian you are EGYPTIAN with Serbian citizenship. But if you feel more Serbian than Egyptian that's your problem.

  • Neven Subotic is Serbian...That is no same thing :)))

  • The blood that flows through my veins is not "Serb" blood, as opposed to what, "Croatian" blood? It is human blood. We live in one world. We are one species. Same blood.

Frankly, it's morons like you who think they know everything about themselves and other people, that try to seperate and fan the flames of ethnic division. You sound no better than Milosevic. You take your identity way to seriously, do you think there were Croat's or Serbs 5,000 years ago? "Serb blood" lines too?

  • and here comes the emotional lash and bash due to being unable to disprove my point.

I never said you couldn't indentify yourself as Croatian by citizenship, but that's not the same as nationality man, no joke. "Nacio" latin - "of birth". Parents Serb, child Serb, wherever it's born.

I'm ethnocentric? I don't care where a Serb comes from alright, or any other nationality, why do you think there are Germans in Vojvodina? Look at where Germany is! Ethnic infuelnce? No! Ther are Germanic people.

  • 1. Their ethnic Magyars, not Germans. There's a difference.

    2. I don't want respect from people who think like you.

    3. Just because you associate yourself as a Serb or Croat in such a nationalist way, only to make yourself feel like your apart of something greater than yourself only speaks to your insecurities about your own capabilities in life.

    4. It's people like you who start wars.

    5. Blood lines do not exist, no one is pure Croat or Serb, so don't fool yourself.

  • No Magyars are Magyars, Serbian by citizenship, but not Serbs, Magyars. Do you understand.

But there are Germans there too! Most have been expelled by the Communist party but some are still there.

People like me don't start wars, we just fight them, and don't you forget it.

    Your ruling class starts wars.

  • The most annoying thing that I find is that Serbia and Croatia have become states that are so ethnically defined. Croatia for Croats. Serbia for Serbs.

No. That's stupid. The way that people define others there is retarded beyond belief. So, If I'm a Serb living in Croatia, I'm not a Croat? Why because people say I'm not? Hahah.

  • Yes, I'm sorry, I didn't word that correctly. It's people like you who fight wars based on your nationalistic and radical beliefs, when you can't see that the line separating your "people" from another "people" is imaginary, made up by politicians and religions, the blood is still the same.

Ruling Class? I'm no different from you my friend. We may have different idea's, but were the same. A quote i once heard stuck with me, "be kind to others, for everyone you meet is fighting a great battle."

  • man he is one of my favorites he is a great

  • والله انك مدافع كبير يا سوبوتيتش رغم صغر سنك

    وبالتوفيق لك مع دورتموند وصربيا

    Subotic Is A Great Player
