i also recommend getting some clippers. he seems patient enough for you to use them on him at home. if a matt gets to close to the skin you are more likely to cut him with scissors. it'd also make it much faster for you and him!
I can't believe you scissored that dog. It would have been so much faster and easier on your dog if you had taken him to a groomer. PLEASE don't get another dog until you can take care of the one you have. What I mean is brush it at least once a week!!!! It is cruel to let a dog get that matted! How would you like to be walking around with your head full of mats?!!! Plus mats can really do some damage to your dogs skin.

@miyi51 Hello, I'm not going to argue with your concerns. I would, however, like to point out that a dog could probably care less about "uneven haircuts". Idk, it just kind of bothered me because that really had nothing to do with proving your point, and I'm weird like that :P
