  • to e nádherné!

  • Great ideas for next time.

  • great video , maybe the best on Halloween that i hve seen :) well done .

  • @aodhfinn awwww thank you so much!!! :D

  • I have been reading about halloween, aparently it is an astronomical event in which the earth literally begins to cool down and the weather changes as we move away from the sun. This is was new years for the ancient celts.

  • i thought this was a danzig video!!!!

  • Was I the only one looking for a song by the band Samhain?

  • @M3TalMan99 i know i looked it up and was like, is this the same band?

  • i want to learn more plz... Blessed thee <3

  • THANK U AND MAY GODESS BLESS U

  • Blessed Samhain...Beautiful explanations of a beautiful tradition!

  • Beautiful video - thank you. I have already decorated my room as it is Sawin's eve tonight and I shall be staying up till midnight to perform a blood sacrifice ritual and reflect on my year.

  • @manisit97 Thank you!!!!! I hope you have the most blessed Samhain! xxxx

  • Beautiful - thank you. Sawin's eve tonight, I shall be celebrating. Already decorated my room with pumpkin lights/skulls, candles and I shall stay up until midnight at the stroke of Sawin to perform a blood ritual and reflect on this year.

  • What a beautiful song! What is it called? :)

  • Nice vid. What are besoms?

  • @TheChartruese Besom's are traditional witches brooms :) Usually made from twigs/sticks.

  • @Ravenwind84 Thank you. I hope That you had a lovely Halloween. I did.

  • I just about died laughing at this video. With all respect, Day of the Dead did not originate from Halloween. Secondly, Halloween developed as a culmination of Christianity and Pagan/Celtic believes based off the idea of Samhain.

Also, Pumpkin Pie Spice is a modern blend of spices, it is not an original spice used to celebrate the event. I admit, I am not pagan, nor have I studied this topic at great length but to state some of your "facts" as real is simply absurd.

  • @screwdrivingcat erm....what is in pumpkin spice? are they a modern day thing, too? and if you havent studied it, what gives you the authority to know whether it is absurd or not?

  • @Helenhealer The spice is a combination of multiple spices: allspice, nutmeg, mace and cinnamon or similar spices.

My biggest complaint is the notion of Day Of The Dead as originating with Halloween. Similar to Samhain, the early Christians adapted native beliefs to their own. DOTD was originally a month-long celebration in the summer as celebrated by the Aztecs in Mexico. The Christians allowed for observance so long as it coincided with All Saint's Day.

  • My knowledge comes from a desire to learn more about world cultures as a modern language teacher. Reading material and eliminating material that does not coincide with common beliefs. While I encourage people to research cultures and even create videos to promote sensitivity, I do not like misrepresentations of cultures. Stating that DOTD descends from Samhain is comparable to stating that Halloween is a celebration in honor of Satan.

Also, my original comment should read beliefs not believes.

  • Great video, although I'm an Orthodox Christian, which might totally shock you what I'm going to say, as the most Mystical of Christianity, we do celebrate all Saints Day, and I personally, as a more tuned in, phsycic Christian believe what we call the Holy Spirit is actually the Godess, same Life Forse, just A DIFFERENT NAME. tHANKYOU 4 THIS WONDERFUL VIDEO! Merry meet, merry part, and merry meet again!!!

  • @kayaburning Blessings :) I was baptised Greek Orthodox :) It is in my research of the holy spirit that i discovered the Goddess :) The Shekinah :) she who dwells within xxx The more you go into it the more you understand. I celebrate all holidays as a lot of it is traditional rather than religious :) Love and light always xxxxx

  • Actually it is final harvest festival for the ancients, not the third. True farmers do not have the time to celebrate the autumn equinox. Mabon is a modern invention, the word was created in 1970.

  • My mother is Irish and told me that in Ireland faces were carved into turnips(what the English call swedes) and jack o lanterns made from this to ward off evil spirits.Candles were placed in the window to guide the visiting souls of the dead home.Pumpkins are a comparatively new phenomenom in Ireland and UK.If you peel the peel off an apple in one whole go and throw it on the ground it will land in the initial of the one you will marry,
