  • LOL reverse moonwalk man...is this a parody?

  • hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

  • lol, just another form of pivot boosting in a more primative form. of course people are dumb and dont pick up on that so they start flaming. Its pivot boosting out of an aerial.

  • just need some michael jackson music playing

  • How do you do it it is just tap in the opposite direction when you land???

And why the bad comments every littlehelps even if its a pointless technique

  • Still one of the biggest jokes of the smash community to this day.

  • agreed. advanced technique...lol

  • failwalk

  • what the hell is this?

  • since moonwalking is walking backwards isnt reverse moon walk just walking normal?

  • My god, you sir have created a paradox.

  • @guitarman507deny1 well... its like walking foward while trying to look like you run backwards

  • @guitarman507deny1

well i thot it was a backwards walk farward

  • @guitarman507deny1 No, it's walking forward but you look like your walking backwards.

  • what the hell im i lookin at

  • hes not doing anything lol, luigi just has no traction

  • The real way you do it is: 1. Play as sonic, 2. Get a Golden Hammer 3. Use it then press the A button very fast to make a cloud 4. Walk off stage 5. Get back on and your moon waking.

  • What good is showing it and not tell people how 2 do it?? How u do it mayne?

  • to bad its useless....

  • crap in a can

  • That's just Luigi. He always slides like that.

  • I've only done that about 1 million times -_-. Nothing advanced or special about it.

  • uuum, isnt a reverse moonwalk just regular walking?

  • My freakin god ...

    U dont get the point

    Look at Link at 1:56

DO you see that he slides?

Now try this in a game WALK and stop moving

U will just damn stand and dont slide ..

  • No, you just fail.

  • yes im sure you were the only person out of over a million to "develop" this.

  • He was the first to post something about it.

  • you stole this from me. i developed this technique a week before you did but i named it the deadwalk

  • yes im sure you were the only person out of over a million to "develop" this.

  • Isn't just simple game play enough

  • no because only 10 people are pro enough to actually usefully use this technique

  • god - stumbled on this by accident; had no idea people could waste their time taking a game so seriously... amazing! :')

  • thats pretty awsome, will work well as substitute for a wavedash probably

  • Marths is the only useful thing.

  • LOL!! Luigi's been a slidey character since Super Mario bros 2 and Melee and Super Mario Galaxy. LOL!! sorry buddy but wavedash is now dead except Melee

  • Wavelanding is still useful

  • its not wavelanding its called normal landing with a character who lacks traction lol advanced my ass

  • lol? have you even watched the whole thing? theres no way toon link can just ^b slide off the edge normally

  • O_o yeah he can.

  • I should say melee took more skill than brawl and I prefer the wavedash style in melee than in brawl, I hope they find out more advanced techs for brawl, so it would be more competitive like melee was ^^

  • <3333

  • and plus i think iCraq and Deva are better than most of the people posting on here. probably.

  • *reverse moonwalk*

    Isn't that walking?? :P

    LOLJK. Nice discovery btw.

  • Jajajaja, you're right...

Someone a few post below said that this was useful...

Save for Luigi, I don't really see the use of this, specially with heavy or non-sliding characters like Ike or Samus.

Theres the RAR for Ike or that technique in which you run towards a foe and do a Smash Up, sliding a little bit (works great for Falco, Olimar and Snake)

  • this is WAY better than wavedashing.

    WAY!

    great find iCraq and Deva.

  • it's not even as close to how good wavedashing was.. you have to jump and do some weird aerial movement to do it, while wavedashing was instantaneous..

  • whatever man.

    you F N n00b.

you suck at smash bros. most likely.

  • yeah, sure.. I play with pkmvodka, who is one of Canada's best players.. and I doubt you play with anyone nearly as good.. anyways, I don't care about you, I was just correcting your stupid "this is better than wavedashing" post. Anyone who is atleast decent at smash will agree that this sucks compared to wavedashing.

  • i'm scurred. haha.

well i play with iCraq. the one who found this technique and posted it on the web before anyone else.

    me > you?

  • PkmVodka kicked my ass in a tournament i finished 4th he got 1st lol x(

  • BC has Canada's best players... namely, dieslow.

    I play with KoDaK :)

  • When people reply like this, they are wrong/offended and the only words they can come up with as an insult is (you F N n00b) Firstly, if you want to Speak leet, do it right. \|/0|_| |= /\/ /\/00|}. Secondly, Wave-dash in melee IS better because you could do it instantly like onlnr said rather than waiting for your character to fall. However, I do applaud iCraq and Deva for finding this. Thank you both, I have been searching for this for a while. 5 stars!

  • guys. i was just joking. haha. i'm friends with these guys who made the video.

just trying to give them some props.

    sorry if i offended

  • it is not better than wavedashing, wavedashing could do everything craq walk can do, but better, faster and easier

but might as well use everything in brawl

  • they tested. there is never going to be serious glitches in brawl such as wave dashing that will effect the game very much. some might be helpful of course, but never anywhere near the extent of ssbm

  • FYI....Not wavelanding....That's just how Luigi was made. With very ow traction, So he slides. Over all epic fail on trying to find a technique.

  • good job watching the hole thing genius

  • I've been looking around youtube for techniques that could be very big, and this is sorta one of them. Once offensively applied properly, this can be a strong anti-defensive tool, and could be a very good advanced technique to use for mind gaming and pressuring your foes, deifnitely. I see a lot of depth left with this one! :)

  • You can't make up what's already simple physics...

  • Damn you all need to shut the fuck up, All I hear on these comments is "tourney fag" or "no you're wrong" or blah blah blah, just play the damn game how it want. If it doesnt apply to you dont say shit.

  • That's because they're stupid, nerdy 11 year olds, and are angry at the world because they didn't get a new bike for Christmas. We call them 4channers, in other words! XD

  • I cant wait to get a wii so i can really face some people who use techniques vs. my style of gameplay.

Im definately gonna youtube some of them for all the "tournyfags" and "tournyfag haters" out there.

  • ....... congrats you are learning to play ssbb

  • ever heard of sliding? cuz thats what it is m8 lol.

  • But seriously, the only good part to this video was Marth's technique, other than that this is pointless.

  • learn to play a new game...

    I.E. Smash brothers brawl.

  • Don't name something after yourself.

  • wavelanding returns great, its shorter but it will still be very useful

  • how do you do it?

  • GARBAGE

  • Me thinks this is just some egotistical basement-dweller's desire to get a technique named after him. Hey! I have one too! You jump five times, shield for three seconds, hit yourself in the forehead with the controller, and shove Slim Jims down your pants. It's called CryMoarwavetapdonkeyteching. PATENT PENDING PATENT PENDING PATENT PENDING.

  • MAN WHO THE FUCK WOULD NAME AN ADVANCED TECHNIQUE AFTER THEMSELVES. THE WAVESHIT WOULDN'T BE THE SAME IF IT WAS CALLED THE SLIMESHIT.

    fffff

  • Cry moar.

  • Like it or not, they need to cater to the casual players as well. Sure the metagame "kept Melee alive," but they can't just obey the every whim of competitive players and sacrifice accessibility to the rest of the world.

There's nothing wrong with using advanced techniques, but don't get used to them. If something is really out of hand, they can just patch it. They have the anonymous, ruleless online play to consider and even a non-tournament-legal technique could be easily abused.

  • yes. Sakurai intentionally put restraints/limmits on gameplay to give newbs an more equal playing field. Or so he claims, i bet he just wanted to humiliate us all. Sakurai: "hmmm, what can i do to make smash bros more unappealing to non newbs, i know! I'll add a random trip condition, ha suckers."

    Damn you Sakurai!

  • well it's cute and all, but i don't see any actual use for it. it's slower than just teching or dashing which you can do in almost any situation shown there, and still do a smash out of it.

  • SAAAAAAKUUUUUUUUUUURAIIIIIIIIII!

  • kinda pompous to name this 'advanced technique' after yourself. I hope it doesn't stick.

  • I dont like Brawl like I liked Melee. Now, you just have to refer to common sense to create advanced techniques instead of screwing over the system. Damn you Sakurai, you suck.

  • yea he tried to cater to a bigger market.. you hardcore players consist of a ridiculous small percentage of the market.. quit thinking everything made in this game should cater to your needs.. you hardcore melee fans will still buy this game whether or not you guys like brawl..nintendo will try to make more money.. thats their end goal..not try to alienate the market by having all these advanced techniques to make you kids happy.. itll sell alot, Sakurai will make money, and you can cry about it

  • True, we're a smaller market, but why introduce stupid things like the random tripping? I just doesn't seem at all helpful for gameplay.

  • By the way:

Competitive play is what kept Melee interesting up until the very last day before Brawl. The public would have lost interest had it not been for the professionals.

  • i totally agree with u, i see alot of ppl talking down on the competitive players. if it had not been for us melee and even smash would have long been forgotten. how do i know this? i live in the bahamas very rare to find competetion. EVERYONE completely forgot about smash bros. then i started to show them the advance tech vids and started play with the tech it got em interested again so i agree with gofg467 smash was kept alive because of the professionals.

  • You're totally correct about that.. but does Nintendo make money off of you or me playing this game up until the very end of its 7 year lifespan? They only make money when you buy the game.. That's it.. and it's done by trying to appeal to a bigger base.. Once you've bought the game, that's revenue in their pocket.. you can shelve that game to collect dust for however long you want, or you can play it everyday until your thumbs fall off.. regardless the outcome, they make the same amount off you

  • Not necessarily. For tournaments some people buy extra cubes or copies of Smash and eventually due to tournaments, those games are going to get scratched or messed up. So we are still giving them a profit. I know I've had 3 copies of the game

  • A long competitive streak in a game gives it a longer gameplay life, and consequently a longer sales life.

  • no a pro brawl player n a noob brawl player are on completely different levels if u know the techniques but since a noob beat u it means ur a noob too...well at least in brawl

  • not necessarily, it could of just been against a laser spamming/roll spamming/forward spamming falco on a laggy wifi match, in which case it's sakurai's fault he lost. Although the alternative is that he sucks too, i didn't see the match so i wouldn't know.

  • y so low fiction?

  • now the games are starting, nice find. if you want to smash drop me a line, i love techs.

  • lol its lame now but wen he OWNS u with it good idea

  • HAHA U FCKIN NOOB, U MESSED UP AT 1:45! cant even do ur own shit...

    jk =D

  • Lame technique, moving on...

  • Really, Waste of time, pathetic, what the hell have you been smoking. You'll be thanking him when your doing it in a tourney and you miss a smash, and thats even if you can play in one. All you are saying is that you cant do it and your yealous cause he or whoever thought of it first is kind enough to share it with you douches.

  • How pathetic that this poor nub has to claim a simple game mech after himself just so he won't be forgotten.

    Simply garbage.

  • Useless and waste of time... Why would i do that instead of running directly to the spot?

  • which would you expect more? someone to run to a spot and dash attack you? or someone to slide there and do a foreward smash, or any other smash.

    it's useful.

  • hmmm what about running in but faaking and flipping back, but in that process when sum 1 trys to hit u while u run in,as u back up u can smash forward again, lureing the enemy into a smash, at least thats what i think

  • so that u can smash attack while sliding. it was helluva useful in smash bros melee. do u even use advanced techniques?

  • this is really different than wavedash ever was though, because you need to dash, jump forward before u can slide back. Anybody who has seen it done once will not fall for it a second time. Wavedash you could start from neutral standing position so it was wayyy more useful

  • ya i know. thats just simply the lack of traction each character has. wavedash is air dodging into the ground lol. wut character do u use in melee?

  • Yeah, I miss Wavedashing... I am glad that you can air dodge multiple times, meaning it's not like your final jump, but I don't really like that you can't move a direction while dodging.

  • Boo... but nice try... but seriously, you're just landing and dashing slightly.

  • craiq...walk? hahahaha

  • Awful, awful name. Also, this is hardly an advance technique.

    Lrn2Skll

    ~Dac

  • i discovered this long ago, it's called the steveperry glide

  • why would people even need wavedashing if the could already kick peoples asses?

  • good find, could be useful.

  • HAHAHA THE NAME IS SO STUPID

  • i bet this craq guy feels incredibly important

  • great find

  • This would be much more useful if you could use it to move forward, but since you can't F-air into a foreward slide (well it wouldn't really be a moonwalk if you did) you really can't combo with it.

i don't have a wii or brawl yet so i can't test it myself but would you be willing to test this:

DD Bair -> Craqwalk -> f-smash with marth? using both a standard DD and the Dash -> pivot -> jump -> bair technique?

  • How do you do it?

  • Craqwalk=Fuxtarded. This is useless. Foxtrotting looks upgraded though, either that or I have bad timing with smash attacks when I try it in melee. Also, the new air mechanics allow for a new tech. The flip jump is going to be useful for anyone with a good b-air (jump toward backward is the title for the vid that shows and explains the flip jump)

  • this could be usefull on platform stages for moving around and stuff

  • its not the new WD, but it might be usefull to prevet pnishment after an aerial.

  • Luigi's got the least traction in the game. This was to be expected.

  • Glitchy remote, perhaps? It's happened to me before in Melee.

  • It's called wavelanding, it's no discovery.

  • its a discovery cus the wave techniques were removed from brawl. the way the ability is executed is not the same as the melee waveland

  • Unfortunately the airdodge doesn't give you more momentum, so the effective distance of a waveland is somewhere close to 0.

  • There are no airdodges performed in the Craqwalk.

    None.

Because they wouldn't do anything anyways.

  • Lmao, directional input during airdodge has been completely removed in Brawl, thus the infamous wavedash and waveland are removed as well. This is a new discovery because there is a notion that it's no longer possible to perform wavelanding, but with this it is possible to mimic it.

  • You'd best be trolling.

  • I wish melee would be online too, so badly, and btw brawl is gonna rok

  • And let me guess, you never played 1 v 1 without items in your life?

Because someone else enjoys fighting people instead of having bumper battles at .5 damage doesn't make you any better than them.

  • do it with sonic!!!

  • how do u even do it?

  • it seems only useful in the event that you whiff an aerial and want to get spacing to avoid being counter attacked easily. but even then, its slow.

and because you can only do it backwards, its pretty much useless for combo'ing.

  • Hmm.... It looks interesting, but I think it's use as even a mindgame will be limited. The great thing about wavedashing/wavelanding was that it didn't telegraph itself. This technique seems too slow AND it's based on momentum and traction; you can tell if you're going to do it successfully by how you land onto the ground. It's not like you're pressing a button and moving suddenly, but rather you're giving away your movements by how you land.

  • Its called traction -_-

  • This looks really useless. Its like a super slow waveland typa thing that sux lol.

  • Looks useful, why people here are so mean?

Just have to use your imagination. Would not be spammed all the time but, at certain times would give you some free hits.

Some ideas I got from this vid (I like Kirby^^):

-Fake jump: I jump->opponent does a Marth F-air->Kirby jump back?(opponent wtf misses)Kirby slides back, wait for it... Bam! Uptilt, USmash, or Dsmash

-Or easy safe Kirby B-airs w/o fear.

Well my ideas aren't that great but someone creative will find some good uses.

  • Doesn't seem remotely effective in combat.

    Plus it's slow.

  • Mindgames.

  • It's slow, it may be even more of a danger to use it.

  • Wow. I'm starting to think people are trying to find techniques just so they can name it after themselves.

Whats the point of this? U jump forward to slide back? Why don't you just jump backwards? It would save so much more time >_>

  • mindgames... =p

  • how is it done?

    Please answer!

  • Doesn't seem like much gain.

You get behind their shield something you can just do with a pivot. It's too slow to do much other than some elaborate trick.

  • This technique is whack. Should call it the whaqwalk, faggot.

  • Now when somebody does it against your ass and fux you up yo wont be saying that then.

  • This one's pretty darn awesome, imgaine the mindgames that probably will be appearant in competive play.

  • So it's basically the same thing as wavelanding?

  • I believe not, as you are forced to change direction. Wavelanding doesn't require changing the direction of your character.

  • yet that's only from an animation standpoint.

only disadvantage would be if you wanted to dtilt, dsmash, utilt, or usmash right afterwards.

grabs, backsmashes, etc, all come out in the same amount of time, even if you're facing backwards.

  • nvm i just saw it with all the others,

what about any other chars or is that all

  • does it only work with Lu?

  • no it wasn't.

you're thinking of wavelanding, which is done by using air dodge momentum to slide across the ground. this uses just normal air DI momentum to slide, which wouldn't work in Melee.

  • Hm... I wonder who the real noob here is... :P

  • wow, that's a lot of low ratings.

    also lol @ Craqwalk.

  • lol at naming the "technique" after himself

  • wow... craq walk? this isn't an advanced technique... why do people name things like this after themselves? it's nothing special...

  • on account of stupid people that haven't played the game spouting BS...

    - Wavedashing/landing is still in, it just has to be done with char-specific moves now.

    - Air dodge is BETTER now. it influences movement only very slightly, but now you can recover from it (although not instantly) and do ANYTHING including another air dodge.

  • Very interesting

  • OK, I was gonna ask if you could attack before going into the slide, but I actually watched the video and it looks like yea. This should be pretty useful.

  • and how do you do it? same as melee?
