He's not quite as ridiculous as he used to be, but getting caught by one of the best heavyweight grapplers out there in a minutes time means you just got a little sloppy, which is all he did, and Werdum had the balls to capitalize on it. If Werdum submitted him late in the round or in the 2nd/3rd round it'd be a different story though.
@youngthizz81 he trains with them, they just leave after a few weeks though. But I agree, training with them makes him a scary mofo. Penn vs. Sanchez was the perfect example of great training and perfect execution when it matters most.

I personally would have wanted BJ to go if he was my student because you only get better through experience and theres not many mma related experiences better than going to the BJJ world championships.

@shadowninja1230 It's too early to say Fedor is really declining though. He's not quite as ridiculous as he used to be, but getting caught by one of the best heavyweight grapplers out there in a minutes time means you just got a little sloppy, which is all he did, and Werdum had the balls to capitalize on it. If Werdum submitted him late in the round or in the 2nd/3rd round it'd be a different story though.

BJ Penn got his black belt in kind of a BS way tho. He trained with the gracies up til he got his brown belt, then goes and gets his black belt from some no name guy. His stand up really isn't shit either, too many people were just too afraid to be able to stand with him. Same thing with Anderson Silva (but even his ground game is shit lol). Let Roger Gracie grapple with BJ Penn, he'll submit the shit outta him and then BJ won't be such a dick towards the gracies.

I ACTUALLY train BJJ and I can tell you this, most people it takes 10+ years for that. . If you think thats STILL Bs then explain how in 2000 he became the first non-brazilian to win the world BJJ tournament? He defeated people who trained their ENTIRE lives. So, disprove how he won that then. It cant be "Bs."

What you have said at him wining torny is true the belt does not make the fighter, the fighter makes the belt the reason most people take so long for a black is because they are repping BJJ so people who have a black in BJJ know what they are doing and can do it well while kerate and stuff you ahve a black belt who will lose to a random guy on street.

@Drunkwraith Well also understand that many of the gracies he trained with didn't feel he was ready for the BJJ tournament in 2000. They asked him not to go, but he went because he just wanted to see where he stood as a practitioner of BJJ. When he won, they acted like it was a fluke...

@infamouson3 The gracies have always acted like arrogant know-it-alls with grappling, I'll definately say. I personally would have wanted BJ to go if he was my student because you only get better through experience and theres not many mma related experiences better than going to the BJJ world championships.

@infamouson3 Hopefully Roger Gracie will give them a good name again. When Rickson he could beat Fedor I couldn't quit laughing. Royce quitting in the fight with Sakuraba basically said "Gracies don't tap but they do quit." If Roger gets real cocky after he destroys a few more guys in strikeforce I'll lose all hope and respect for the gracies.
