Nice. My school does this too, but we are Americas Tallest Singing Christmas Tree. It is 67 feet tall and has 20,000 lights. It also has 300 students in it and 100 outside of it (:
I first saw these guys in a photography book "A Day in the Life" series on Christmas my sister gave me for Christmas during the worst year of my life: 1990. Actually, it turned out to be the best, because I met my husband; we just celebrated 16 years of marriage and have a beautiful 14-year-old daughter. We've been through many hard times, including the loss of his oldest son, but Christmas is still a wonderful time for both of us.
this is not tacky, we are having one built at our church, it takes 5 hours to assemble, and 45 architects. it takes 2 tons of steel to create the frame. and the lights are computer operated, but they have to be controlled manually, you have to go to college to operate one of these
they do that at a church in buffalo and they have done it for a really really long time... i was in it a few years but not in the tree singing i was part of the rest of the cast i was dancing as an angel
I was in one of those one year at our church. It was great, and a lot of work. I didn't get to see it from the spectator's view. We didn't record it either. Beautiful.

Hey, I was in the tree this year. It was my second year doing it and it was pretty fun, other than all the long practices.
I'm on the far right side, on the 5th row.
