  • yes, thats right thank ya bro!

  • the stooges started punk not the sex pistols. all the pistols created was the label "punk" to mass exploit fashion and accesseries (apologies for my spelling) so that people would pay money to make themselves "punk". hell yea Iggy Pop!

  • Has anyone else noticed that Iggy Pop's singing is very similar to 1969?

  • @lyonslaforet yes.

  • sounds like a prototype of search and destroy

  • This song is made of awesome.

    Awesome guitar.

    Awesome bass.

    Awesome singer.

    Awesome band.

    Awesome decade.

    Awesome the strooges.

  • fuck, digging this album in the late eighties put you on the outside.

  • kick in that waaaahhhhhhhhrrrggghhxx!!!!!!!!

  • Coolest bass line ever.

  • I threw my girlfriend out of the car because she didn't like this.

I was a gentleman, however, and slowed down a bit.

  • IGGY! The stooges! <3 :3

  • That opening bass line is siiiiicccckkk!

  • who ever is here to enjoy this song, i respect you.

  • Us Stooges fans are a dying breed. In the words of Dee Dee Ramone, "there were only 4 Stooges fans in all of Forrest Hills Queens! That was how the Ramones started. We all liked the Stooges, and so we had to start a band."

And to all the guys who say they need to find a girl who's a Stooges fan, I have no idea what they're talking about... I know waaay more girls who like the STooges than guys.

  • @SlaytanicMegaforce The first and the best.

  • This is Hendrix.

  • @9defebrerodel79 Bu-hull SHIT "This is Hendrix"...

  • oh boy I loveee the stooges

  • i <3 the bass in this. i wish more guys liked this. but i swear, some guys are such pussies these days. listening to bruno mars and wearing fucking cardigans. i'm a girl and i have more balls than some of these guys today. :P

  • @xxjerseygirl95xx call me. stooges rule.

  • @xxjerseygirl95xx Amen brother :p

  • @xxjerseygirl95xx marry me

  • @xxjerseygirl95xx What the fuck is Bruno Mars...are they a rock band?

  • @xxjerseygirl95xx I'm going to find a method to hack yt and give you 765328 thumbs up

  • @xxjerseygirl95xx Some of the guys who were inspired by The Stooges wore cardigans, i.e some of the 70's punk bands. I wear cardigans but I dn't listen 2 modern Indie crap thats jus a feeble ripoff ov bands lik this! U hav excelant taste in music if u lik The Stooges & I want u to hav my babies! <3

  • @xxjerseygirl95xx tell me about it i live in san antonio and im surrounded by bieber and t-pain wannabes im pretty much one of the few real music goers around my neck of the woods who has more balls than most anyone

  • @xxjerseygirl95xx all joisey bitches have balls

  • great fuckin song

  • @galaxyrock

I need to find a boy with enough taste to get down to the Stooges!

  • There NEEDS to be more bands like this for the current teen gen!

  • I wish I could ionize and bond with this song on! Thanks

    slaytanicmegaforce

  • I wish I could ionize and bond with this song on!

  • Mmmmm. Oh yes.

  • Mmm the Stooges.

  • the stooges have to got be, without a doubt the best band i've ever heard. some bands get old after awhile, but i love the stooges more every time i listen to them. i've got quite the music collection, covering music of all decades and styles, but nothing hits me like these guys do.

  • Beatles records would be groundbreaking if they had come out 100 years from now, they're just timeless; especially by the time of Rubber Soul and on.

  • The Stooges is a perfect band for a 17 year old dude like me ou yeah!!

  • The Stooges is a perfect band for a 17 year old dude (me) ou yeah!!

  • In fact the Beatles,Stones, and the Yardbirds already were ahead of everybody from I Feel Fine in late '64 to Tomorrow Never Knows from Revolver in early '66

  • @BBQFanNo1

Oh yeah, The Beatles were very revolutionary. I'm pretty sure Iggy liked them.

  • A little sleazy and a tad grimy perhaps.

  • this is a fuckin bad ass song im 24 an i just love this type of music

  • i'm diggin that lysergic guitar

  • uhh sabbath ripped from zepp, hendrix, and clapton. the stooges are completely original which is a reason why they kick ass

  • @deafnblind77 no they didn't man, c'mon they are as cool as these guys :)

  • @deafnblind77 That is correct. Led Zeppelin,Jimi Hendrix,Eric Clapton,The Yardbirds,Blue Cheer,Etc are ORIGINAL.

  • They were so contrived and are so YESTERDAY. A total rip-off of Iron Butterfly, Deep Purple, Sabbath and others. There was nothing new about this band other than having an anorexic half-literate front man. They sure looked cool though.

  • @bmalgs Oh no you di'int. No one even gives a shit about iron butterfly, they had one long ass annoying song that's the only thing anyone knows about them. I'm glad the stooges ripped them off as you seem to think, because at least they made something listenable out of IB's shitty sound. I don't even know how they could rip off black sabbath if the band didn't even have an album out by the time the stooges made 2.

  • @bmalgs BTW you dumbfuck, the Stooges were around before the Black Sabbath name incorporated existed in August 1969 and Mark 2 Deep Purple. The only rip off the Stooges could be accused of is Blue Cheer.

Go get a better education bmalgs in the history of music before you post retarded ignorant comments!

  • @bmalgs BTW dont talk down to me. You are 45 years old. i am 58 years old. i grew up watching when all this music first came out. Plus i have been a professional bass player for 41 years.

  • the stooges make me want to dance naked, have sex, and snort drugs all at the same time. yeah.

  • DAve Alexander's a great bassist.

  • The intro sounds kind of smiliar to "American Woman" by The Guess Who.

  • @AKAjocey i see wat u mean, definatly some similarities

  • I'M Stooged till the end

  • First time I heard this song, I was blown off my ass. I thought I was having a seizure when the solo came on.

  • the bass line is great.

  • i'm old enough to drink lava

  • @zukuzukuzukuzuku

I remember Lava....I'd get my hands so goddam dirty at work and that was the only soap that would get it out...You drank that stuff? Damn yer NASTY!!

  • Old bands like this made rebellious music. Rock started with a clean lyrics, then turned into a beast. Now that beast has been killed by crappy music. The beast is still alive, but it is not as big as it looks like this song. This song or even type of music was never big back then or really today. I found called Radio Moscow, it is a new band and it is as underground as this. It is not over-produced and kinda sounds like the Stooges with a mix of blues rock and Jimi Hendrix.

  • you're totally right man. i'll look those guys up.

  • ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!! MORTAL ENDING OHHHHHHHHHHH

  • Its a shame, Long live Ron.

  • society created punk.

  • I wanna get my fuck on to this song. I need to find a girl with good enough taste to get down to the Stooges.

  • @galaxyrock

Haha! Fucking stellar, man. Gettin' down to music is the only way to go.

  • @galaxyrock i would gladly fuck with you to this song, but i'ts a pity that we are so far away:)

  • @galaxyrock i am so there. i need to find a boy with this much tiiiiggggggght ness.

  • @galaxyrock They're fucking hard to find ain't they? I'm still looking for my Ramones-type chick

  • @MegaAries1992 you can stop looking for one! i think all this pop stuff is shit! Give me some real music!

  • @MegaAries1992 Here I am! :)

  • @MegaAries1992 Man theres like 7 of those in my classes ... none of them like any other punk band :[

  • @galaxyrock kinda a short song... guess is would be a quicky

  • @galaxyrock have you heard I Wanna Be Your Dog, I'm sure you have, if anything that's the one to get your "fuck" onto haha

  • @galaxyrock I'M DOWN.

  • @galaxyrock You only got 3 and half minutes in ya? LOL

  • @Hannibalonthejazz

That's why youtube needs a loop button. How are people supposed to have sex in three minutes?!

  • @deekante youtuberepeat dude, it loops videos for ya

  • If someone asked me to define R&R I'd simply play them this album. It doesn't get much better when it comes to genuine, visceral rock 'n roll. One of my favorite songs on the album. (They're all classics except maybe Cale's droning "We Will Fall"). Great fuzz on that guitar. The later stuff doesn't have that sound.

  • Allow me to address " Bloodlibel" More than likely, with an intellect as he's displayed himself to have combined with a predilection for crappy, over produced mega studio edited horse shit as he's displayed on his home page, he will happily wallow in the shitmire of corporate control crapulence that he doesn't even have the brains to realize he's a victim of for the rest of his pathetic life. Fuck you moron, go eat your own teeth.

  • Cool tune right here.

  • Fuck yeah! I love this song.

Dedicating it to my own little doll. Yep!

  • let me see here. you don't have a band, you can't play. this is the simplest most fundamental rock music in history. ron ashton adds a nice lead. but really, where does any ugly comment come from. it was 1968, soldiers were fightin like mad mutherfuckers. this was a great time in American history; thus, some decent music. yeah, it is simple, but it is good. beyond that, you can't do this. no matter how simple. i mean, you are not from Detroit.

  • its a shame ron ashton died RIP

  • That's a good song , a fucking good song

  • FUCK A HATER

  • this is the stooges

  • No shit, Iggy pop is the GODFATHER of punk

  • very bluesy rock, like it, no band today make this kind of music

  • this is rock and roll, nothing else

theres no such thing as punk, punk is sweaty kids playing rockand roll

  • Nothing sounded this nihilistic or industrial before in rock, meanwhile, America's world was going to Hell on a daily basis, especially in Detroit. It has this sort of raw, stupid anger and bleakness to it that's just so much more real and alive than pretty much any rock before it, and rarely captured since. It becomes more pronounced later, try 1970 and Search & Destroy.

I still say they're the nastiest rock band evars, but you gotta open up to it, and really, like, "listen" to it... man.

  • Not in the NIN sense (though they sampled Iggy for Closer), I mean literally, heartless and grinding. How can it be an excuse for punk when the genre didn't exist yet? Yet, this is where it started, right here, The Stooges. Every major early punk group covered these guys, The Ramones, The Dictators, The Sex Pistols, etc, and Iggy set the bar for lead men, stage diving, screaming his throat raw and cutting on stage before anybody did. You don't like it, fine, but they're influence is huge.

  • And I don't give a crap.

  • Well, here's some advice, if you don't care enough to learn about something, don't go running you mouth off about it. It makes you sound like an idiot.

  • what you doin listening to this song? you dont deserve to........ now fuck off!

  • I dont know what your saying exactly... but theres no need to bring up the fact I'm a retard.. thats a low shot mannn... hmmm how do you know I'm a retard?

  • Well judging by the first comment I'd say tht'd pretty much explain it.

  • have you really nothing better to do than listen to shit music, slag off good music... an accuse people of being nazis? I may be a retard but I can see your not a happy bunny..... have you tried therapy?... (not the band)

  • yeah its sad but I've learned to live with it... do you know what "retard" means?

  • Of course I know what it means.

  • hmm well i wouldnt say you shouldnt be aloud to lisen to this song maybe just not comment if you have nothing nice to say maybe if this bores you something like the jonas brothers are more your speed bloodlibel

  • @BloodLibel94

Well, you like The Misfits. The Misfits were stooges fans, as are millions of musicians. The Misfits have covered some stooges songs.

Listen to the stooges' FUNHOUSE all the way through, and maybe you'll get it.

Then listen to the stooges' RAW POWER.

  • @psychkoala Or people you can stop commenting back. I do not care!

  • @BloodLibel94

Hear, hear, no need to get mad. I looked at your page and you have a lot of cool stuff on there. If you lived closer, I'd invite you over for beer or a Pepsi and play some CDs for you.

  • @psychkoala Haha, That would be a Pepsi. I'm not old enough to drink beer yet. Six more years...

Yeah, but thats alright I understand.

  • That's the way to do these things.

  • Everyone has their own taste. Check out some of their other stuff, and turn it up LOUD. Or don't, to each their own.

  • You guys, I love The Stooges don't get me wrong - they are fucking raw as hell and make some of the most powerful music I have ever laid my ears on. But The Velvet Underground created punk my friend. The Stooges simply picked up where they left off.

  • realy interesting but not boooorieeeeng little dull?

  • Velvet Underground? Noo way man. White Light/White Heat started it all. Sister Ray!

  • Why do you have to label them punk? They go beyond punk before punk.

  • exactly, punk didnt have the skills these guys had.....they were their own genre

  • this is punk rock

  • the 1st 2 stooges albums are just the best..................down on the st just does it for me everytime..

  • i agree with you but i think raw power was something special, except for the fact that ron asheton didnt play guitar for that album=/

  • proto punk? maybe a little bit.....but this is nasty psychedelic rock!

  • the stooges are totally awesome dude!
