The LED is no covering the whole lens height. That means that there is some room left above the LED to see.

it does not cost 200 if you are not adding el wire. i have paid only a few dollars on getting a lens piece and tint for the one i made.

Yah the all the wire cost $50 and the LED buckle cost $20. The stuff to make the actual helmet cost maybe $120 for our last helmet so we just used the leftovers.
