Yeah, I was there running my ZX12 that weekend and that guy didn't know how to ride that bike at all. I think his best mph was only in the 140's. Boooo! Sure as heck didn't get anywhere near the 200mph mark.
Damn... that's the Y2k! The topspeed wasn't mentioned here but this beast does 0-217mph in 14seconds!!! In a mile that would be way more than that! This is one insane bike (even though some turbo-ed busa will and can go faster...)
i will say that i'd rather have these conversations in person than on a computer. however,i will be posting a site soon that will show and say more about some of the more interesting things that have happened re:the bike. one bike builder from LA aked me "why haven't y'all run this over 200 yet at bonneville or somewhere yet unless ted just knows that it isn't that fast?" i just showed him the ticket that one of our customers got:217 in a 55-$10,000 in OR. He just laughed.
I remember hearing about a 200+mph speeding ticket a y2k owner got. Poor guy should have kept on going as even a police chopper wouldn't be able to do much either lol. Wonder if he got a good lawyer and got it knocked down or just pay the fine and lose the points? providing his license wasn't burned on site by the cop lol.
it was on a bet. the bet? was his bike really faster than his friends vipers(hennessey,etc.)lamborghinis,ferraris,etc.? who's fastest?who can get the fastest ticket? he won. the cop was not amused.he was talking to his lawyer on cell when the cop finally got there. even jay leno intrduced himself to my partner as "the president of the more money than brains club". do you know of any ticket higher?i don't but there may be one in europe. there are legends,but...
those will be my first goals as i work my way up. as for forums you just have to see and hear the bike to really begin to understand it. if you want to see real controversy, look up material concerning the bud rocket supersonic pass and what the foxes had to say about sour grapes.i agree with the bud guys:America did it first.if the edwards Air Force Base guys can't read speed...who can?also,"it's in the smithsonian and the smithsonian doesn't show accept bogus cars."
so,he just started ignoring chilish e-mail taunts. he still does. i have decided to take my bike out to tour with it and work myself up to its full potential. meanwhile i'm having a good time and most people lose their ego and really enjoy it when they see and hear it run for the first time. for the record,i have two questions what is the fastest speed anyone has documented for a t-busa on pump gas?also, what's the record for maxton or texas for a stock car, truck or bike?
For a pump gas big build T-busa (big bore and boost) that would at best maybe 300ish hp at the wheel. I'm betting in excess of 200 but will ask since i'm not sure. In terms of STOCK for any of the mentioned i'm not sure. the ECTA website only gives so much detail for maxton. I know Brock of Brocks performance took a 07 Zx-14 and 08 busa with light bolt on mods (pipe, power commander and such) and did break 200mph at maxton. STONE STOCK for either place is 180ish i'm betting for the bikes.
In terms of stock cars i'm not sure either. ECTA website aside, texas mile site has records in XLS format (which i can't open). If you consider cars like the Hennessey vipers "production stock" then it would be around 225mph and 230mph between what they've done at maxton and texas. However If i recall right I don't believe the car used was a "production model" of theirs. If you can open XLS files then the texas mile website may have answers on stock bike and car times.
google for "maxton mile turbo busa" and you can find a video of a guy with a 639 bhp t-busa @ 41 on the boost and made a 252mph run at like 35 pounds. I dunno what he was running on but you can easily make over 400 bhp with a better turbo/chips...
the bud t-busa guy is a real pro and has communicated with my partner ted they seem to understand each other pretty well. i met terry(mr.turbo)at maxton and even offered to let him ride my bike.he politely refused, saying that he'd rather not ride other people's stuff. these are the people who've made it possible for others to take busas to new levels on a buget from their basement.they know what we' are up against,as well. ted doesn't feel he has anything to prove to anybody else
we feel about the world's biggest auto/motorcycle/aerospace companies the way you seem to feel about us.we do what they say can't be done or beat them at what they do on less than they spend on stamps. however we start from scratch, redesigning their engines, installations and technologies.
but this takes much time and focus.that's why we don't bother to answer all e-mails and challenges.we'll do what we do when we get to it.
terry(mr.turbo)is a gentleman as the bud t-busa guys.
Hey if i can I'll be happy to though I won't be able to show off much with my old and slow 180mph touring busa lol. But The links i sent ya to the busa forum is full of guys that'll be there hunting personal and world records. good people that love speed wether it's 2 or four wheeled or powered by whatever. Come on over and make some freinds to meet at the next event. :) And in all honesty I do wish you luck and safety. Getting that jetbike at 260+ or way faster would be amazing.
i hope to see you there.i will say that whatever the case may be concerning my bike,i am taking my time with it and for now i am content to build experience around 200.not many people would even ride a million dollar prototype or try to ride it themselves in my category.i hope to make more passes at maxton next year as they have more events.when the bike was on the "top 10 motorcycles of all time" and beat the jet, flying, you can see some of what it can do.
Hey i hear ya on wanting to build up experience. Alot of people think it's as simple as having alot of hp, tucking in and giving it all. Not really true at all lol.
if you tried that you'd probably hurt yourself.turbos take practice to get the most out of them, turbines will hurt you if you think that you know what you're doing if in fact you don't. even pilots aren't used to accelerating them in a bike-they normally run them wide open in the air and the air is more co-operative-but has other dangers. amongst, other things, the bike will continue to boost briefly after you let off throttle,if you break traction. what now-NOW-no time to think about
Heh this isn't about what i've built compared to some big production company. It's about what is and what isn't. The Y2k jetbike is fast but there's boosted bikes, namely busa's, that are considerably faster. No burden on my end since i'm not the one with a Production co. built $180+k jetbike that so far has been slower then garage or small tuner shop built T-busa's that cost considerably less to build.
if you try to put one of your motorcycle engines, any of them, into a loaded 5-passenger helicopter it will not fly.if it even lifts off into ground effect it will self-destruct within moments. regarding your final comment, the burden is on you:what have you built?not bought out of some catalog or website,BUILT with your own two hands.
In terms of who's done what, what was your speed at texas? I'm doubting it was the mentioned 244mph since that would be big news and obviously mentioned here in the vid. One of the busa guys at the forums I sent you a link to heard you only did about 190mph. Care to share what your timeslip said?
I talked to the owner/builder and the the engine is from a Ranger helicopter. There are 17 built so far, they are about $180,000, and Jay Leno owns one of them. This one ran over 220mph.
as the ownerdriver i will say that the best speed so far is 244 mph.this is the fastest motorcycle, box stock, street legal, street fuel ever produced.when anyone produces one faster we are waiting with 2 more larger engines,420 hp and then 650 hp.,of the same family.the 650 produces over 1000 ft./lbs. of torque.
Suzuki hayabusa, light mods, great milege. And for the record while it may be the fastest "Stock production" bike, the yancy's turbo busa is street legal and has records at texas and maxton well beyond 244mph (not counting Performance bikes magazine project 250 street legal bike that busted 250mph at elvington or the busa that beat IT doing 265mph).
because youtube hates people putting web addy's in posts, i sent you a message to the hayabusa forums where a good handful of tbusa owners, some of them maxton and texas mile runners, reside. Like I said in the message they wanted a filmed run between a good t-busa and y2k jetbike every since marine turbine made the BS claim of having the "fastest streetbike" on it's page years back. Boss declined and long since changed the bikes claim to "most powerful production bike in the world".
Btw i've heard mention in the past of these "2 more larger engines" from y2k defenders after telling them of t-busa's that have gone faster then the y2k. Has anyone installed either of those bad boys into the chassis and ran it yet? If such a streetbike can do a honest 280+mph and stomp the worlds best turbo busa's then i'd rather see some people do it then just talk about it.
it would be like trying to compare props with jets. why do you think that virtually all commercial/military aircraft are jets and turbines? the reason that we say that it it is the most powerful production motorcycle is because that is the Official statement of the Guiness Book of World Records. if you try to put one of your motorcycle engines, any of them, into a loaded 5-passenger helicopter it will not fly.if it even lifts off into ground effect it will quickly self-destruct.

it's powered by a Rolls Royce Allison "320-horsepower engine
designed for a 10,000-pound Bell
helicopter".
i've known the guy who owns that bike (that's the transmissionless prototype!) my whole life.
