  • I'm very disappointed Horizon decided to discontinue this model. It's my favorite fixed pitch micro.

  • @davsha72 The mSR X is the successor to the mSR. You should check it out.

  • how long can it fly on a 120mah battery?

  • This is pretty neat, good first fixed pitch heli?

  • That flies better than my Syma 006.

  • @NickPech blade mcx for sure is the best BEGINNER helicopter for starters.

  • I've never flown a heli, but I raced rc cars and trucks for years.

I want to know if you think this would be an option to consider for a first heli.

  • @NickPech Hey you may wanna start with an MCX2 heli, this one is a bit more advanced. I'm not saying that you can't start with it but its a big learning curve...

  • ahh you touch my tal la la la la la la la la

  • Or are the modes controlled on a switch on the heli not the controller

  • Im going to get the bnf and use the lp5dsm that came with my cx3. But would I still be able to change through the 4 modes you talked about where you make it more stable or faster depending on your skill. If I can how would with my lp5dsm

  • Hey I'm comin off a cx2 and I was wondering if I could fly this

  • @gmaninthusa Would be a good progression for you. Another option would be the Blade 120SR.

  • how fast can it go?

  • @hamsterwing We've never thrown it on a radar gun so I don't have an exact speed. It's plenty zippy, I will tell you that.

  • Can anyone tell me if it can do any inverted flite ( up-side down).. I have the MCX and want something that can do more..

  • @quickguesswho It will not. The mCP X is the only Blade Ultra Micro heli that will fly inverted.

  • They make these helis of plastic purposely to make you go broke buying spare parts.

  • @MaximOrlov WRONG, WRONG YOU ARE they use plastic because it flexes get your facts right stupid

  • @MaximOrlov - this thing can take a beating actually, plastic is lighter, thats why its used

  • very good

visit my profile and enjoy more

  • hi i have a question i have been flying 3 ch helicopters and i was wondering do you think i would be able to fly this?

  • CHECK Out my page for a cool video showing off the BLADE MSR's indoor capabilities...

  • I have just bought a msr and found my msr not stable at all in fact it just wants to shoot off all the time and will not hover like in the video ! i have adjusted the trims but this does not have any affect i have a blade sr witch had problem with the rotor motor but stills hovers better ,so much for factory testing !!!

  • @swur You need to calibrate the transmitter's buttons, situated below and on the sides of the controls. Keep pressing the buttons either left or right until you hear a long tone, this indicates factory settings.

  • Thanks for this good heli, out of box, this heli is ready to fly.I have a lof of fun with the MSR.

  • I got a blade msr as my first heli, this heli is leet! after a few tries i got the hang of it, it doesn't take much. plus i'm only a teen, so don't judge me!

  • Thank You Horizon Hobby for making wonderful products. They all work well. Nitroplanes however (30%) work properly. Parkzone and Eflite (100%) working. Thank you again.

  • Horizon, how bout some vid's on repairs etc. linkage adjustments on the 120sr

  • Received the Blade mSR for Christmas! Had issues with the tail motor. Horizon Hobby sent me a new tail motor. That didnt fix the problem so they sent me a whole 5 in 1 unit for free. HORIZON HOBBY CUSTOMER SERVICE AND TECH SUPPORT IS THE STILL THE GREATEST!! They will fix the problem and get you back in the air ASAP!

  • Could you go from an msr to a CP pro?

  • @Applesauceworld That's a pretty big jump. I would go with the 120SR first.

  • Hi, im having a problem: I try to change the control balls to advanced, but I cant do it...

    What tool should I use?

  • @matrobsti You should be able to pop them off with a needle nosed pliers

  • @HorizonRCdotCom ok.

I have a dx6i, and I have set it on heli, and the gyro 1 and 2 is set to 100%, cuz there was MUCH more throw when I did that.

There isn't anything "bad" with that?

  • Will the 160Mah 25C batteries work too?

And the 110Mah that comes with the sukhoi?

  • @matrobsti You can always use packs with higher capacity and C-rating than what it comes with, although I wouldn't recommend using a pack with a lower capacity or C-Rating.

  • how long does it take to charge and how long is flying time?

  • @100helimad Charge time should be between about 20-30 minutes and typical flighttime is about 8-10 minutes, depending on the throttle used.

  • I have seen a lot of review for the mSR. Is this heli stable outside in little wind?

  • @sborn1571 You'll want little to no wind. It's so lightweight that the wind can cause issues.

  • @HorizonRCdotCom Thanks for the quick reply Gary! I know what I want for Christmas! You guys are awesome!

  • @sborn1571 We aim to please :)

  • @sborn1571 im getting it to

  • i have a honey bee 4ch helicopter. would this be good to improve skills in bigger helis?

  • @HorizonRCdotCom Hi i had a FP heli before but it was to small to handle all the light wind we had a while back so i had to give up.Ive now got into planes but i want to get something small for indoors as its to cold to fly outside right now.Do you think someone who has flown a heli before would do good on it?

And by fly i mean i learned how to hover except for nose in thats was a pain.

  • @hellsrage619 Again, without seeing you fly I really don't know. However, as I mentioned, the mSR is intended to be more of a second heli as you learn and progress.

  • I have no experience with helis, but a lot of experience with planes, all from 3D and so fourth. Do you think I can handle it?

Can you use 180Mah 15C batteries? And 160Mah 25C batteries?

  • @matrobsti It's possible but without seeing you fly I couldn't tell you. Airplane experience doesn't directly correlate to helis but you will at least have the basics down. It'll be a smaller step for you than others with no flight experience, I will say that. And yes, those batteries will work.

  • @HorizonRCdotCom hey, ive been considering getting one of these blade msr's thats the ready to fly version. can you still use a spektrum dx6i transmitter on your ready to fly version?

  • @gmz7105 Yes you can

  • would this heli be for me? i have zero expierence with any helis this or the mcx?

  • @kizzle1234656 I would recommend either the mCX2 or the new Force helicopters. The Force Helis are built off the same basic platform as the mCX2 but have a feature called Simplifly that makes it easier for beginners. It's a pretty cool setup.

  • Hope Jim is enjoying his retirement. I already miss him.

  • There REALLY needs to be a Blade SR BNF. It would sell a ton and make piles of cash. hint hint Horizon.

  • 0:20 epic face! lol

  • Hi, just a question, is there a new version of the mSR planned? something like a "Blade MSR 2"? i mean, the mSR is not bad but... i just want "something new" :-) The Blade 120sr is great but just tooo big to fly it indoors... a improved mSR that flys a bit more precise, has a bit more servo throw and power would be great!

  • I've never flown before, ever! Is this the ideal beginner for me as an absolute noobie?

  • @LoveJesusLoveJehovah

I think the ideal heli for beginner would is E-Flite Blade mCX (co-axial brother of Blade mSR). It's 4-channel, super durable and extremely easy to fly even for first-timer

  • can the radio in the origonal cx bind to this

  • @mrrocks3578 No, the original CX used a 72MHz transmitter.

  • HEY GUYS..............i have flown my msr over 2300 3 minute flights! still no wear ..everything is still like new...only thing i have replaced a few times now are the li-pos!! great little heli..i have the sr and the 400 too. good job!

  • Which is better from what you guys have heard? the mcx2 or the msr? i know it depends but i need to know which one to buy. the most durable, best performing, etc.

  • @coocooachoo568 They are totally different animals. The mCX2 is geared more towards the person without any previous RC experience or, at the very least, no heli experience. the mSR is that next step as you progress.

  • Nice heli, very awkward speakers in this video...hahha.

  • how long is the flight time

  • @dieharddirtbikerida 7-12 minutes depending on how much throttle you use during the flight.

  • @HorizonRCdotCom o ok thanks

  • I Have one now...LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT ***** just got onother one to hop em up.

  • You got a winner here. Nice vid

  • how long do the batteries take to charge?

  • @sierra043 Around 20 minutes

  • These guys said the JR 12X can be used for the Blade MSR, so I bought me a 12X. ;)

  • Have had nothing but problems with 5 in 1 on my msr. It will go off where it wants and won't stop when I shut down controller. Used a DX7 with it and same results. This is second 5 in 1. It wonders real bad now and I can't get that trimmed out. Any input?

  • I would contact product support and see what they can do for you. (877) 504-0233 is the phone number.

  • @nailitdown100 Same here... Out of the box it pulled hard to the left. Went to the end of trim values and it did'nt make any difference! Called the support number, and the guys told me to adjust the linkage. So I putzed with it for about two hours and any adjustments did'nt come close to stabilizing. The next day I took it back to Charlies Hobbies where I bought it. The heli guy putzed with it, the called the dealer line. The rep told him to tell me to send it to horizon. Not happy.

  • lol my dad broke the landing gear the second day i bought it. i fixed it though but im still getting the hang of it. its really kool and worth buying =]

  • E-Flite should send extra parts like landing gear and rotor hub since i broke them

  • you just suck thats all

  • @shoopwhoopX i don't suck that much man there some parts that they need to make it stronger like the SR is or the 400

  • @shoopwhoopX right...lol

  • does the ac adapter that comes with the blade msr work for charging the dx6i the plug fits

  • Do not use that power cord with the DX6i. It has a very specific charger and you could damage the circuitry of your radio if you use the incorrect adapter.

  • If you are good at flying the mCX or any coaxial (dual blade) heli, the mSR is the next step, but keep this in mind, the mSR is much more difficult to fly than any coax heli. Its far more fun to fly as well.

The mSR is complete blast to fly. Its extremely challenging and no other micro heli even comes close to the quality of the mSR.

I have a DX7 and use 35% expo to help ease the harshness of the controls. I find its far more difficult to fly with the controller that comes with the RTF.

  • my blade msr stoped binding after a crash do i need to buy a new reaciver or is there somthing i can do

  • I would contact our product support department. : (877) 504-0233

  • How much easier is this to fly than the Blade CP+?

  • it is easier since the CP+ is a collective pitch and this model is a fixed pitch heli

  • i have the blade mcx and a blade cp+. i plan on giving my mcx to my dad and buy the mSR for my self. i was wondering if i could use my ccpm transmitter that came with my cp+ . i'd like to fly with him so i'm not sure if i need the RTF or the BNF. i really like my cp+ transmitter and was'nt sure if i could use it with mSR. ( i'm thinking no, but thought it would'nt hurt to ask.) E-flite rocks.

  • No, sorry, the original CP+ came with a 72mHz transmitter and is not compatible with the BNF products.

  • will the DX6i transmitter that came with my blade 400 work on this heli?

  • Absolutely!

  • @wrestlemaniac202 Yes it will work with the DX6i transmitter

  • Is the MSR charger able to charge blade MCX Lipos?

  • Yes it can

  • Is the msr charger the only way to charge mcx lipos without having to use AA batteries? Just looking to charge with a power outlet.

  • yes

  • hi guys. does the rtf version bind as well. thanks

  • Do you mean can you bind the RTF version of the Heli to a different radio? If so yes you can.

  • @HorizonRCdotCom thaks man. i just bought one today its amazing

  • @dannybrigg Yes, you can bind it to any compatible transmitter.

  • The main shaft is offset on these by design?. Eflite does that on purpose to make the heli take off straight?

  • Also I have notice that the rotor shaft w/ gear is not aligned with frame, is not plumb, is that normal or a defect from the manufactor ?

  • Help, I can't control the heli with a LP5DSM control, I followed the manual , change DIP switch, the foward and reverse, left a right are acting weird, can;t controll the heli, is this radio controller fully compatible?

  • Contact product support at (877) 504-0233. You can use that transmitter with the mSR, they can walk you through what's going on.

  • wheres a blade the blade mcp or ultra micro collective pitch you alredy have the msr and mcx so why not

  • I just got this heli and when i look at it from the back it the whole main rotor mast looks cocked over to the right a few degrees... i'm wondering if this is normal or not.

  • hi iv had my msr now since november

and iv flown it nearly every day and crashed it a lot lol

but it starts to shake what is wrong with it it flyes amazing but shakes can some one tell me please what is wrong with it

    Thanks

  • I would just give it a once over and check for any loose, damaged or bent parts, especially if you've crashed it a lot as you said.

  • probably a bent flybar

  • i spend $200 on this thing and it flys like crap. i think i might have gotten a defective one because the main rotor looks crooked,

but when i hold forward on the right stick and dont let go, it goes forward, stops then goes backward.

plus it gets a huge 'toilet bowl' effect.

its really pissing me off and i hope they give me a new one that is controlable.

  • Rick, please e-mail me your contact information (e-mail address is under the "More Info" section on the right) and what's going on. I'd like to have someone from product support get in touch with you to see if there's anything that can be done to help you out.

  • i cant find your email

  • Sorry, I didn't realize it wasn't in there. It's there now. I can't post it here, YouTube strips out links and e-mail addresses for some reason.

  • and i called the 1800 number on the box, and found that the people were very helpful. i told them the various things that the heli is doing, and they said its probably a busted gyro, so they are sending me the5 in 1 board free of cost.

they are really helping me out. horizon hobby is being very understanding about it.

  • Yes you can ..nice!!

  • I havent watched the whole vid yet.. what i want to know is can you use your mcx transmitter on the msr?

  • ya you can

  • Keep in mind E-flite = Horizon RC !

Still is a good product, I am thinking about getting one but they are pretty much sold out in Germany.

  • Hey guys,

I´ve got a question about the new Blade SR .

At which time it is avaible in Europe?

I saw it at the Eflite-rc page!

    Please review it.

    It looks great!!

    Greetz!

  • I don't know yet when it's going to be shipping internationally. We'll know more as we get closer to the actual ship date.

  • thanks, just got to 7:47 and heard about the training gear set. This might be my first helicoptor. Just wanted to let you know that i love what you have to offer at horizon. Its great!

  • Thanks, we aim to please :)

  • i have flown an rc helicoptor before and would i be able to fly this and teach myself with this. I like the look of this one better than the mcx but would it be flyable?

  • It's possible but all dependent on your skill level quite honestly.

  • Hi,

i got my msr last week and its been going great but today i crashed it into my wall and now the forward and backward servo isn't working. I dont know whether the servo motor is knackered or what. I bought a new servo mechanism of ebay. Any ideas on what it could be and tips on replacing it back onto the control unit. Im a bit nervous onto replacing it because if i solder it and mess it up the unit cost £60!!! Thanks

  • sori i mean msr

  • If you think you'll end up buying more than one BNF aircraft absolutely. The DX6i is a great radio for that and it won't break the bank.

  • Can I use my existing stock MCX controller with the BNF MSR?

  • Yes you can

  • do think i should get a spektrum if i am going to buy the mr2

  • is the standard transmitter any good?

  • Actually yes. Plus it gets you into helis without breaking the bank if you're not sure if you're going to enjoy it or not.

  • I got one for Chrsitmas but i am having trouble binding the heli to me DX6i. my club's saftey officer said that its the electronics so we are taking it back on Boxing day. bit of a dissapointment but i cant wait to fly it!

Keep up the great reviews!!! :D

  • can i bind futaba 6ex 2.4g to it?

  • No, the BNF planes and heli's are only compatible with Spektrum-equipped radio systems

  • thanks... so it used mode 1 or mode 2? can change?

  • it used mode 1 or mode 2?

  • I have one. Coooooooooooooooooooooool

  • i bound my msr to the recever that came with my mcx, you make no mention of what if any benifits could be had if you were to use the low rate the transmitter has built in to it. would there be any? if so could you tell us?

    thanks.

  • The Low Rates make the heli less touchy and easier to fly. It helps compensate if you're overly heavy on the sticks from side to side too.

  • What is that noise at 2:13?

  • how much time does the battery takes to charge?

  • around 30 min

  • 15-20mins

  • How much does it cost?

  • bnf +-115 euro rtf +-160 euro, about the same when you buy it in dollars

  • Someone bring in the ShamWow guys to do this commercial lol.

  • Nice review u have there horizon and nice chat!!!!!BUT u still havent answered my question!!!NOT even the manual!!!!!!!!i have the BNF version and want to bind it to my DX7.Here is my question!!!!WHAt setting do i choose from the swash type menu on my DX7???

Default is one servo(i left it there cause the manual doenst say anything about it but i believe it s the second option 2servos because two servos move the swashplate!!!!

Anyway i d really appreciate if u answer me that!!!!!

    Thank you

  • If you insist to use Heli type, use with basic setup, no ccpm. That is all, no mixes no servo reverse, just default settings. Do first setup as airplane so you know what you are doing then do same thing with Heli type, no ccpm. All mixing is handled by Receiver unit.

  • Thank you for the reply!!!!Just changed it to airplane mode.

  • Should you want to try the heli mode, use the one servo swash type. The advantage of the heli mode is you can enable throttle hold, customize throttle curve, and change the mixing. If you haven't noticed yet, the elevator servo moves when you apply rudder control. That's the built-in mix which you may want to unmix or finetune to your liking.

  • are u guys going to come out with a ultramicro 3d cp heli please i would defintly buy it

  • just got one!, absolutely amazing!

  • its strange but i haven't heard any disadvantages about it

  • i am about get it

  • thank you

  • will a blade cx2 radio work?

  • Yes it will

  • will there be soon any original E-Flite Tuning Parts, except the "glow-in-the-dark" parts?

  • at 2:30 a little enter your txt here box shows up lol

  • how good is the signal on the rtf transmitter?

  • Hi,

is there any video in which is shown how to replace the main motor?

  • Not that we have don, no.

  • I have the CX2 and the MCX! I have MASTERED both! I just ordered thge MSR and I am looking forward to it's arrival!

  • The E-Flite Blade mSR is the best Micro RC Fixed Pitch helicopter on the Market to date, straight out of the box she flies exceptionally well and although in my videos you see me modifying them I still keep one MSR totally stock so that I may make an unbiased comparison.

Compared to other heli's out there of the same size the Blade mSR is the cheapest to keep in the air.

Even though I fly larger Heli's I find myself flying the mSR much more as I dont need to go to a park or even outside.

    Elias

  • It would be nice if the BNF kit came in another stripped down version that didn't include the Celectra charger and power supply.... at least being an option to add later instead of must have to get the heli. I like charging the batteries at .1A on a programmable charger, not a fixed .3A which can be over 3C rate for some batteries (like the 70mah ones) - a range of capacities that use the micro JST connector and this small lipo form factor.

  • Hello fellows.

I already have a nine eagles free spirit (model Solo) 4 cannel helicopter that comes with a following 2.4 ghz controller.

can i buy this Blade MSR BNF and bind it to that 2.4 GHZ controller from mine Nine eagles free spirit solo heli. ?

Is this Blade MSR the best 4 channel (25grams class) helicopter on the market today. ?

    thx and great review

  • Well of course I am going to say the mSR is the best heli in it's class, would you expect anything less? :)

Unfortunately your transmitter will not work. You need to use a Spektrum DSM2-equipped transmitter to use a BNF product.

  • Could this be a good first heli if I have been training on RealFlight G4.5 for a while now? I'm looking for a small heli to fly in an average size backyard or indoors. I am also curious if I should just go ahead and buy a CP Pro 2 or Blade 400. Would they make good beggining helis with flight sim time?

  • i am just gone 13 and i want to start flying. I live in england and i am going to use the sussex model centre for my helicopters. could i start with the msr as my first helicopter or would it be to difficult. sudgest a different helicopter if i could not use the msr for my first. Please Address this to Christos (thats me) because this is my brothers account.

    PS please reply quickly.

  • Does the BnF come with 2 batteries???

    Reply would be appreciated!

  • Yes it does

  • Add one more servo and we have a msr cp ,This would be soooo cool ,a micro

    3d helicopter

  • Hi horizon-team,

I am flying a 3Channel Heli right now (coaxial, of course).

I thought about the mcx, but now I am thinking about an msr aswell.

Do You think, the step from 3Channel coaxial to msr is too big?

And: I will mostly only be able to fly in a quite small flat.

Schould I stick to a mcx rather?

Would be glad for an answer, thanks!

    Greets, Rich

  • I'd say it all depends on what coaxial heli and how long you've been flying it. If you're coming from an mCX, CX2 or CX3 and have mastered it then the mSR would be a logical next step.

  • is this a good first helicopter or is it really worth it to get a coax first? its not much more than the mcx rtr considering you get two batteries and the charger cable with it. i just don't know if it will be too much to handle for a first heli.

  • I would not recommend this as a first heli. There are just too many fundamentals to learn via the mCX that, if you just jump into the mSR, you may not be successful.

  • Hi! I bought a Blade mSR RTF, and I have a Blade CX2. Even being RTF, is it possible to bind the Blade mSR to my Blade CX2's remote contro? Thx!
