  • "Nothing really matters...to me" is simply amazing.

  • Agree!

  • this one just stood above the rest i guess!

  • Because it's Barcelona!

  • This is IMO the 2nd, maybe 3rd best Post Wembley version, behind Cologne and maybe Manchester...Frejus is obviously good but I just dislike something about that version...

  • Is it too close to the studio? :D

  • @Gregsynthbootlegs Its just too laboured for my liking, I don't feel any energy to it from the band or Freddie really...

    Still that is a wicked Carry on he gets, that alone pushes that version up the list...Its just I hear Manchester, Barcelona, Cologne and I hear the emotion/passion...and I just don't hear it at all in Frejus, its like hes just going through the motions.

    Plus he sounds VERY like Stockhom on the Bb4s in the first verse!

  • Well, the recording does play quite slow! That could explain the "labored" part.

    How would you grade the post-Wembley versions? I think Cologne is awesome!

  • Brilliant, he never gets that A4 at 0:25!!!

  • He almost always sang that note--but this is one of the best times he sang it!

  • @Gregsynthbootlegs I meant in tune!

  • He got that note in tune on many occasions!

  • at 1985-1986s Freddie had raspy but very POWERFUL voice, but at that time he never sang high C note at the rock part of this song :(

  • No, he never sang that C5, but he did in-fact sing the 1st verse like LIVE AID numerous times!

  • This is a great version (and a powerful one)!

    The only thing that I don't like is the way he hit the notes from 0:29 to 0:31. I think he hit them in a "cleaner" way in Stockholm, Brussels, Paris and Leiden.

  • Yeah! His voice was extremely powerful on this gig! By this point, Freddie's voice was obviously raspier (it's towards the end of the tour), and he really had to yell and scream to get those higher notes out--makes him sound like Hercules, but it can be offsetting to someone who prefers a "cleaner" approach.

    It's like Stuttgart 1984: Freddie still had access to his higher range, yet had the raspy/shouty voice!

  • @Gregsynthbootlegs

    Of course, the gigs that I have mentioned in the previous comment are the first of the tour!

  • Yeah! lol

    Leiden (1st Night), and Brussels are probably the best from the early gigs!

    I love how in Brussels, he sings the whole first verse like LIVE AID!

  • @Gregsynthbootlegs

    Leiden's version is amazing, he went for the high notes also in the second verse!

    And he hit those notes in a "clean" way!

    Brussels's "Bo Rhap" is great too, you're right: Live Aid style!

  • Yeah, it's funny that our favorite 1986 Bo Rhaps, resemble earlier ones:

    Leiden = Montreal 1981

    Brussels = Live Aid

    lol

  • @Gregsynthbootlegs

    Hey, you're right!

    Hmm, Montreal 1981....I should buy the DVD...

  • Haha!
