  • I agree with others, great tone....much coming from your hands. I love your style!

  • Nice! beautiful tone. Well done,Fender strat rules...

  • Wish I could play like that.

  • Absolutely beautiful man...... I'll be working on that tune..... lol

  • this sound killing meee <3

  • ol' man, that's some good playin'

  • The Vibrolux has great tone quality, will hiss even at the lowest setting (I have a 1990) and is a very loud amp, but worthy of stage gigs and will hold its own very nicely. This is the sister to the big brother VibroKing, which I've never heard but I'm told is very loud. I prefer the smaller amps for home, ie: blues jr, princeton, champ, even the deluxe reverb and ac15 have far more than needed at home for me.

  • What a tone!!! Fu@#%@#@ing great stratolicious. I want that amp.

  • Lot of hendrix influence :)

    very nice.

  • is that a Vintage Hot Rod '62 Strat?

  • fulltone fulldrive 2

  • how are u getting the distortion sound?

the vibrolux is a bit too loud to turn up to get the distortion naturally unless youre using a antennuator...

    what are u using?!

  • such a chewey sound. definitely my favorite quack sound

  • nice playing man.

  • Finally someone showing his guitar and know how to play on it!!!!

  • Great touch!

  • great expression bro!

  • thx

  • very nice, and very good playing ,oh thats sounds gooooooooooooooooooooood, thank you

  • Nice playing! Killer tone coming from the vibrolux.

    Greetings, Peter

  • woww that was inspiring. thank you for sharing.

  • the way he moves his left hand means he plays with passion and he really feels and enjoy playing, greate melody

  • is she a sherwood green thin skin? gorgeous tone, playin' and guitar

  • When I feel down I can tune into this video and listen to a pure blues soul that always turns my mood upside down and runs chills through my blood. Thank you.

  • upload more man your playing is so unique and smooth and the axe is stunnin

  • great video! love the vibrolux tones!

  • awesome man

  • i have on og thos

  • awesome! you're great! and the guitar sounds beautiful! i'm about to purchase my first strat! i'm really excited. an american standard. rosewood baord.

  • very cool. i have 1 in agave blue. love it 2 death.

  • What year 62 is that? What color? Looks and sounds great

  • sometimes it sounds like jimi hendrix yes i like it!!!

  • Nice vid, thanks for posting!

  • nice color. im looking for a dark blue one. i got a red one.

  • Somebody listens to Hendrix. May I ask what key this was in and what scales you used?

  • I'm diggin' this. Your playing style sounds like Chicago blues punctuated by a healthy dose of Southern Rock.

  • also

    i rly like the tone

    wut effects/amps/settings do you use?

  • wut scales do you use?

  • Man you sound great. I really like your style of playing. Great tone as well. Keep up the great playing.

  • Is that the newer Custom Vibrolux Reverb? These amps aren't reissues, but they're modernized vibrolux's. Let me know if this is the custom vibrolux (they sell new for around a grand) I'm interested in one but am hearing alot of mixed feelings about them. I also hear they have a hiss problem. Is this yours?

  • You're right, it's a custom vibrolux reverb. I sold it. It was the noisiest amp I've ever owned, plus too big for what I do. I recently bought the princeton reverb ri, and so far so good.

  • does the princeton get close to this sound? and also how loud is the princeton. thanx like your playing

  • Hi, Custom Vibrolux´s 2x10´jensen are good amps, my friend has one.Yes it was noisy - But we´ve made some little modifications back to the original schematic of 63´Vibrolux - (phase inverter, feedback & channel split.) There are still used PC board of ´63 Vib. inside. Hiss has gone and the sound is not so much agressive now, it plays more mellow at high volumes.Try to find the schematics.

  • ..sorry for my mistake, I meant original ´63 Vibroverb from 90´s. Custom Vibrolux Reverb´s are their modified replica.

  • Hello, it's a great sound, sorry to ask a stupide question but how can you get overdrive at a low level of power ? every body speak about the natural overdrive of this amp but I never use this amp more than control volum = 2 or 3 (max)

    thanks

    richard

  • I'm not so sure this guy does it, but you could buy an Attenuator. The Ultimate Attenuator is supposedly the best one out there. Lets you crank the amp, but play at low volumes.

  • very cool dude. reminds me a little bit of eric johnson

  • Excellente my friend. Are you using any pedals such as Fulltone mosfet or anything? What are your axe and amp settings. THank you for the nice demo and tone.

  • There it is , awesome freakin tone , all you saying this amps hiss is loud and reverb isnt enough, listen and weap,i wouldnt change a thing , plugged straight in amp, working players dream, sure lets get one of those fenders with clean ear piercing tone "remedy"towel to hang over amp, joking great playing .

  • great tone...great strat...great playing.

  • holy shit the lick at 1 minute is incredible im def stealing it from you

  • OH love that colour ! And very niiice playing!

  • Killer tone. What's with the classical posture though?

  • OMG is that a Hot rod strat?

  • it looks like...

  • OMFG I want one so bad !!

  • does the vibrolux reverb need to be miked in a small to medium sized club? thanks

  • I wish they'd have the whole neck and headstock colored sometimes but overall A strat is perfect by it's self.

  • this is signature richie sambora ?

  • that sounds amazing.

    nice!

  • Beautiful tune and playing, sir!

  • wow, thats a good sounding strat.

  • very nice

  • Faboulous playin' Smitty. I would like to know the settings on your Vibrolux Amp. Be so kind and post them.

Is it blackface or a silverface VR ?

  • Post some more please sir.

  • now thats a strat

  • Buy mexican,cant loose.SMOKIN!

  • very nice percussive mutey sound

  • I am so impressed! This is amazing! ure so good!

  • Hendrix Influence???? Somewhat???

  • Incredible, in all facets.

  • Wow Realy Realy good!

  • you are the best!!!!!!!!!!

  • youre amazing

  • i love that tone. Good playing aswell.

  • i have a sunburst fender stratocaster it kicks ass

  • how long you been playing?

  • let's see...you're 13. about 3 times as long as you've been around

  • ok...wow haha

  • lol im gonna be the same way.. i started playing when i was 7, and im not gonna stop until the day i die

  • wow.. that sounds beautiful =).. sorry for this dumb question. did you only used the blues scale or what?? =)

  • thanks. not sure how to describe it, but definately not just blues scale (pentonic). i see my playing as more chord based; i'm always seeing chord patterns (triads) when i play.

  • sounds beautiful. it doesnt get much better than that genuine fender strat tone.

  • That makes my videos look really crappy. Nice tone.

  • Excuse me for the stupid question: were you playing with a coin in the right hand? It's a very particular attack I hear here...

  • Dunlop Nylon Jazz III Guitar Pick

  • Woah... the same I use... so maybe it's a matter of style. Ghgh... thanks a lot!

  • Finally someone who is good in youtube!!! Super rare!

  • I want this amp so bad... But I wish it were smaller and less noisy.

  • i have a squier strat and it sounds nothin like dat

  • Get a Mexican one or change the pickups. It'll do a lot for your tone.

  • That fender vibrolux amp has alot to do with this tone...any high reverb amp will do, but toss the squier man.

  • kk i will thx.... i dont feel like buying a new one but ill change the pickups.... do they wear out? cause ive only had mine for bout a year

  • They don't wear out, they're just magnets. They're just not high quality.

But as that other guy pointed out, the amplifier is a HUGE part of what your guitar sounds like. My friend has a squier that sounds decent through a 30-watt crate amplifier, but with the Frontman 15G (or R), it sounds terrible.

  • lol im playing on a frontman 15G !!!! lol time 2 go 2 the music store i guess.....

  • Try to get a Roland Micro cube. They're a wee pricey (for a practice amp) but they have a lot of features (a tuner, phaser, flanger, overdrive and four models of amplifiers) and sound really good. I've heard that the Line 6 Spider III is fairly decent too, practice amp-wise.

  • I shouldnt say that ALL squiers are junk. I have a 83 squier in my collection with a 3 bolt neck and a 70's style headstock and its 100% stock. It has very high quality components in it...its better than a mexican strat thats for sure. Its made in Japan and fender undercut themselves badly with this one. you can get them from $700 to $1400 although they rarely change hands.

  • Yeah, I like Japanese-made instruments. I gotta say the current squiers aren't that good. They're all made in China. But eh.. It's up to the guitarist, really.

  • yeah, other than the chinese squiers, i'd have to say that fender are making some of the best instruments and amps they've ever made these days

  • vIEegRN5mvs

Phillyred79 uses a squire and it's right on the money... Not just ANY amp will do... use a decent one. There are only a handful (less than 10) amps that I would buy, ever. The Vibrolux is definately #2-#5 on the list.

  • squiers are alot NO OFFENSE they are cheaper so they will sound much different but every once in a while you can come across one that sounds frickin great because the neck most likely is an actual fender neck only its a squier because it may have a slight blemish in the finish that didnt pass inspection which does not affect the playing at all

  • nice tone and playing! i have a 62 ri too. and i'm thinking about buying a costum vibrolux reverb now. what was your level of volume on the amp?

  • great tone! that neck pickup sounds exceptionally wonderful.

  • Sounds like hes trying to play little wing...or something of it.

  • Sounds like Anastasio but better

  • amazing sound!!

  • love that signature strat sound! very nice man good job

  • great tone and everything. I love the vibrato at 2:26. has the vibrolux enough headroom for jazz stuff?

  • Damn you sound good. Guitar, amp and player -no effects - I love it!

  • Thanks for making me feel like shit! Haha. I really need to improve my technique on guitar, how long have you been playing?

  • amazing

  • killer dude! cool chops

  • very nice playing and i love the colour of your little songbird

  • Fantastic. What amp and pedals are you using in this video?

  • Nice, I love fender strat's!

check out my strat to! its a American standard with i modified lots. Defensi3.

  • Ya gotta love a Strat! Nothin' like it for getting that sound. I also play a Vibrolux Reverb from '66. Wonderful amplifier! Sure makes for great blues or country stuff. I have G&Ls and Strats-o-plenty and a lotta love for them all. They make my studio job easy!

Great tone and playing, man! Cheers!

  • i bought mine bout 2 years ago for 150 Pounds when i was in england

  • i could sit and listen to that all day long! that tone is superb and your playing is awesome! great vid

  • Cricky man thats good sound are you using any effects ore just stright into the amp (My guitar is half clapton strat half 69 custom shop)I do love strats

  • Sounds great!! Awesome tone....

  • awesome playing. and sick guitar too

  • what a butifull guitar... im in love...

  • i bought my strat at a guitar center store lol its pretty nice

  • i bought mine for 640€ ^^ mexican strat

  • i got mine used bout 2 years ago 4 about $275-300

  • Nice picking,good song.

I have got a cheap replica Strat myself, But i am a bass player not a Leadguitar player.

  • whats the average price for a fender stratocaster?

  • i bought one for 489 Euros

  • im not sure of the retail price now, but about 3 years ago i got mine for like 200$ and i still use it! XD

  • dam i wish i could play like that

  • Don't you just love the synergy of a USA Strat and a big Fender combo? I play a USA standard w/Texas specials through a Fender Showman 112 combo and just drift off hours. Really Sweet playing. You really squeeze a lot of Strat nuance out of youu rig...talent don't hurt none either. Keep it up.

  • Maybe that's some of the mystique.

You might be the new school of blues. : )

    Today's working man, in Dockers.

    Great playing 5 stars.

    Keep it up

  • Great! And I agree with kurt...dockers gotta go. I got a Cal Strat strapped on right now - and you are way better than me, so I'm gonna watch and learn. Thanks!

  • Is that straight in ? cause i hear compression.

  • Fulldrive 2

  • compcut? thats my favorite. i send that through my mesa lonestar and i get a sound similar to this one.

  • The compression is probably caused by the MPEG codec used to stream this video. Sweet playing.

  • i dont like the jumbo frets that much, but the sound is wonderful

  • mine's a skyblue mexican fender strat

  • i totally agree... don't wear dockers!! is not cool man!

  • nice playing. real bluesmen don't wear dockers, though

  • my fender is pearly white, S61 strat made in california, and I got a juniors blues fender amp that has a lot of reverb

  • That's one of my favorite blues improvs of all time

  • good stuff.

  • f**kin smokin dude ! cool riffs !

  • Nice...really good!!!

  • awsome does it come with a wammy bar

  • Thank you, Smitty-Wan! You do this old man's heart a lot of good! Sweet, SWEET sounds! Please keep jammin' and give us more when you can! Many Thanks!

  • Very Very nice :-)

  • nice groove babyman...

  • does your vibrolux hiss? how do you deal with that?

  • this fender is like mine. but my one is teal

  • gotta love a fender or single coil guitar through a fender blackface era orignal/reissue amp those amps are my favorites. It has to be the 6L6's I think they offer a sweeter OP tube overdive as well as a better bass response.

  • dude.. you rock on a number of levels... are you a pro?

  • awesometastic!

  • nice job bro. VERY nice guitar and tone and amp and shirt. ahah...also you know your way around your key. Very impressive. definetly a 5/5 for me.

  • yo i like yuor sound man, nice groove and all, nice touch, very cool

  • Thats very, very cool.

  • you'r very good

  • Nice Strat

  • Damn, I have an American Strat and a Deluxe Reverb, and that sounded 10 times as good as I do. But, then again, you are far superior to me, and your skills and natural talent is where you get 50% of your tone. Atleast

  • NICE GUITAR!!! how much that thing cost you?

  • Excellent sound!

  • i use a 1972 twin reverb. its secksy.

  • Gorgeous tone! What were your amp settings? I use a Pro Reverb.

  • awesome

  • That was some really nice playing, some damned fine licks. Would loved to have heard them with a little less gain though, ooh and maybe a little wah. Bit of a Jimi and SRV fan I have to admit

  • sunova those were some sweet licks.

  • yay i got the same guitar in vintage white mmmmmmmmm!!

  • When I get half as good as you, I'll call myself a guitarist!! Cool.

  • check out my video of me playing "saturday night special" on my fender strat. click my name and you'll find it on my home page. Hope you like it. leave a comment. any and all comments are welcome.

  • QUE TIMBRE É ESSE?

  • amazing tune.nice job

  • blew me away! ur a great player, keep it up....by the way nice color choice on ur strat.
