  • Because we need more zones like Vashj'ir RIGHT??!?!... yeah right i thought so...

  • PS: Water in SWTOR, like many other things, just sucks.

  • Lmao, yeah, no swimming. Greetings from Aion, eh? AAAARGH *powerlevel over 9000!* FUUUUUUUU....

  • No swimming in SWTOR either I hear. Your character is killed if he swims. That is pretty lame. xD

  • it just makes you wonder, what took up all the devs time in the 6 years making this?

  • Aside from some Jedi Strikes, most of the animation in TOR is either lazy or just shit.

  • @cheapassassin lol do you know a single MMO that has better annimations? because ive played every major mmo since runescape and TOR has some of the best animations ive seen.

  • @yatsuketa Cabal Online has more fluid animations than this game.

TERA has more fluid animations than this game.

Blade and Soul has more fluid animations than this game.

Guild Wars 1 has more fluid animations than this game.

Guild Wars 2 has more fluid animations than this game.

World of Warcraft has more fluid animations than this game.

    .

Oh, sorry, you only wanted one example? My bad! Just pick one of the above.

  • @TheKainMan lol id pick from your examples if any of them actually had more fluid animations. they have more simple animations for sure, but i wouldn't call any of them more fluid. the only one of those games id say have more complex animations would be cabal but that game doesn't even compare to swtor. so yeah =) still looking for at least ONE example, my bad, guess i can't pick from one of the above.

  • @yatsuketa Sweet evasion, but not quite. The fact that you cannot admit that those games, maybe not all of them, have better and more fluid animations (Guild wars 2, TERA, Blade and Soul, are you shitting me?!!!) serves to show that you are one you are one loyal, brainless, ready-to-kiss-EA's-ass biodrone.

Oh well, at least I'm not spending cash every month on crap.

  • @TheKainMan because i dont agree with your opinion which has no factual support that im a biodrone? lol ok troll. i can list examples why swtor has better animations, your just another angry kid who calls everyone a biodrone because you have nothing on them. lol ive beat better trolls then you. want an example? list the most impressive combat animation on any of the games you listed. ill give you two examples for every 1 you give me that swtor does better =) can you do the same? no? thought so.

  • @yatsuketa *You're*, by the way.

"i can list examples why swtor has better animations" - So far you've been all talk.

    .

So how's the combat better than Guild Wars 2? Or TERA? Or Blade and Soul?

  • @TheKainMan lol now who's evading? you say im all talk when i just told you id give you two examples of better combat animation for every 1 you gave me =) your reply shows me you don't have any examples. ill give you an easy example though. bounty hunters "death from above" aoe ability. the bounty hunter flies into the air with his jetpack and rains rockets down on the aoe designation which results in large explosions. that animation alone is more complex then any combat animation in wow.

  • @yatsuketa I've counted 6 examples I gave, you've so far failed to provide 12 counter-examples. And apparently, you think I'm referring to animation duration or some shit like that. This video alone here: /watch?v=S59RIyS_9dc shits all over SWTOR's animations.

    .

To put you in place: I couldn't give a single fuck about how long or complex animations are. Fluidity is a different thing, and SWTOR has none. Every animation makes the character look like he has a pole up his/her's ass.

  • @TheKainMan lol so let me get this right, the ONLY example you've provided is one that i ALREADY said had more complex combat animations?

To put you in YOUR place: the only example you've provided is one i already said had more complex comabat animations. if you knew anything about "fluidity" this debate wouldn't even be happening. animation duration has nothing to do with fluidity, animation complexion does. As far as you not giving a fuck, that's nice =) guess the debate is over then huh?

  • @yatsuketa Are you being retarded on purpose?

I listed 6 games that have more fluid animation than SWToR.

    @AleXy86 listed another 3.

You didn't live up to your claim.

And again, animation length or complexity have absolutely fuck-all to do with fluidity. Hope it penetrated that thick skull of yours.

I'm still waiting for the other 11 examples, since you seem so eager to claim your pseudovictory.

  • @TheKainMan do you not know what the hell an example is? listing an entire game as an example is an opinion not an example. you have to be specific idiot. list a move, a specific ANIMATION! that's what an example is dumb ass. omg your retarded! you dont get what fluidity in an animation is, you dont even know what the hell an example is. ENGLISH MOTHER FUCKER DO YOU SPEAK IT?!? sigh... ok, im done with this debate. you've failed on all accounts. go ahead and rage reply like a little bitch. peace

  • @yatsuketa Did you miss the video I posted? It had more than one example.

    Here it is again: /watch?v=S59RIyS_9dc

  • @TheKainMan see there you go... like a bitch =)

  • @yatsuketa I'm not the one raging here. Your claim holds no water.

    .

Now, how about you be a man of your word and provide me with those 11 counter-examples, since we're civilized people and that was what the original topic was before someone decided to resort to ad hominem remarks.

    .

So, I ask you again: Kindly provide 11 other counter-examples of animations that, when compared to my 6 listed games, make the SWToR ones look fluid.

  • @TheKainMan so you want to try and have a civilized debate now is that it? ok =) we can try this one more time. so lets try this, list what you believe to be the best combat animation from each game, and ill give you 2 from swtor that i believe to be better. listing an entire game as an example of better animation doesn't work, you need to be specific so i can give specific responses. otherwise i can just say that swtor has better animation then all 6 of your games.

  • No, it doesn't work that way. What you are doing is cherry picking just one animation out of an entire broken game. You either take the game's fluidity as a whole, or you don't.

    /watch?v=Qk92L4kSqdk

    /watch?v=pGggCgE5-18

    /watch?v=vgoJX81skuQ

    /watch?v=UavDNE5J4wg

    .

That's how proper fluid animations are made.

SWToR's animations are choppy, truncated, sluggish and unresponsive.

  • @TheKainMan its not cherry picking, its giving specific responses for specific examples. that's how debates work.

    /watch?v=2ayNgd_60qw

this video gives over 4 examples of fluid combat animation for each example you gave.

the animations are not choppy, truncated, sluggish or unresponsive. each of the moves shown in this video do not have any broken or un-needed movements. the pauses during the video are made by the uploader to show details of the move.

  • @yatsuketa The video is a compilation of E3, GC, Machinima and GameSpot pre-rendered videos stretching from 2009-2011. Granted, the graphics have improved, but the animations didn't. Being pre-rendered, everything is in place for the animation, not the case in-game.

    .

Having played it, because of the stiffness of the animations, skills feel like they have no weight to them. Their ending is sudden and there is a distinct annoying pause between skill usage. The lack of auto-attack doesn't help.

  • @TheKainMan the skills in game work the same as they do in the video i showed you. I pvp in swtor and the skills dont have a pause between them, the animations will depeding on how you que them but the skills themselves activate when you use them. this is no different then any other mmo ive played. i dont understand what you mean by "stiffness", i dont see any stiffness in the annimation like i do in tera where every ability auto roots you to the ground. auto attack is a different debate.

  • @yatsuketa It's nearly impossible to explain if you have your own subjective view on it.

You say the animations in SWToR are the same or better than any other MMO you've played.

In my case, the animations in SWToR are nothing compared to free MMOs, even.

Other MMOs I've played had transitional animations, such as Cabal or Vindictus, which signified a clear ending or beginning of a skill and linked beautifully with the next. SWToR's animations are bland from start to finish. That's how I see it.

  • @TheKainMan we'll have to agree to disagree on this then. we both see the animations differently, for me the animations flow together flawlessly. i can see the clear beginning to each move i use and the next one begins the instant the first one ends. i also find the swtor animations to be more exciting and complex then animations from other games, but neither of us will convince the other to change their opinion. we'll just have to compromise. In the end we'll both play whatever game we enjoy.

  • @yatsuketa So are you, like, not going to pay off your 11 counter-examples debt?

The BioHive must have recalled you. Damn those pesky developers and their mind control!

    .

Love your tactic, by the way: "What's this? Something that can prove me wrong? Fuck you! My game is awesome! And I'm going to give up this debate because I can't back my shit up!".

  • @TheKainMan hmmm... i don't think you'll accept that example though, but its ok =P trolls usually can't defend themselves against facts so ill leave you to think of something to troll about later. have a good day =)

  • @yatsuketa Age of Conan has ...by far...more fluid animations (physics in grass, water, char-movement, mount-movement - you name it). There. One, that far surpasses everything SWTOR has to offer, in terms of animation, graphics, gameplay and world size. Plus, it even did voice over before Swtor. DCUO did voice overs b4 Swtor. EQ2 did it too. WoW did it too. Swtor is the first with complete voice over, which isn't a good thing, at least in my book of dull, linear and boring quests.

  • @AleXy86 Hold on, I must correct something: DCUO did complete voice-over too. It doesn't require you to stand still and watch some cheesy movements. While I am flying at super sonic duper ultra speed, I am listening to what Superman has to say, about me having to destroy brainiacs men, for giving mankind hemorrhoids. Take that!

  • @AleXy86 Wizard101 has complete voice-over too. The combat system known in Swtor (duck behind walls etc.) was already a given in Tabula Rasa (and that had somewhat comparable animations). God, what did Swtor invent or do "more"? Oh yeah, over-due it on the voice side and put in GAY love in future patches. Once they actually add more races in, like Star Wars Galaxies had, like a Wookie or something, then it'll get very, very interesting.

  • @AleXy86 ok, so that's your opinion. im glad you like AoC, but everything you just listed is opinion based. saying it did it "better" because you say so is an opinion. everything in AoC was done in games before it, everything in wow, eq, gw, cabal, and just about every mmo was done in a game before it. im not going to debate it with you though. I'll respect your opinions if you respect mine =)

  • so so bad.

  • Better than GW2.

  • @Fort3x Failtroll.

  • @SereLisk It was ironic :)

  • lol
