had this game as a little kid on the sega genesis. could not remember what it was called. at first i thought it was mortal kombat but it was not. then i saw the game on a top 100 list for sega genesis and i found it. i plan to buy a sega genesis and get this game. i hope

This was one of the first fighting games I ever played.  I remember always getting blade and all i would do is that lighting bolt downwards because my brother would just spin the caveman's club around and stay in one spot.

me2 well i played MK2 alot and SF2 but when i got my hands on this. It felt like a gem, just wierd I didnt think their was another controls to the fatalities on the backdrop. So i'd just hit the guy with the hopes of somehting cool happening. I loved the Riddler 1930s probation guy. Also the blank caveman guy, the vampire from Brazil is cool too.

it's your *special* meter. When it runs out you cannot do anymore special moves. it only takes like 3 or 4 specials for it to run out which sux PLUS the CPU can do any number of special moves without restrictions which is rly cheap IMO

I never noticed this before, but if you listen to street fighter 2 and then eternal champions, the fierce attacks, the jabs, and the throw's sound effects are nearly identical. The fx used when hits connect is similar to.

i think i was focusing on street fighter when i was younger but i remember renting this out as it had outstanding art design. the characters are bad arse. i used to go that detective dude? well done this is a nice video. did they make a sequel to this?

After all this time of knowing the game, playing it at a time myself, I never knew the insults the characters speak were how they use the yin/yang source. And I too had difficulty handling the control buttons.

Yeah Eternal Champions is definitely a difficult game to get into, Fairia. I remember seeing a strategy guide for this game that was put together by Gamepro magazine, I believe, but I never bought it. It probably would have explained the game's mechanics and made it a lot easier.

Who knows, I might just pick up that guide and make a comeback in this game using a different fighter and record an even faster speed run, but the key word here is "might" lol.

Yep, fatalities can be done in this game, RandomDudeAKAJustin. They are tricky to pull off though, because the opponent must land in a certain area in order for the fatality to take effect.

I never got the hang of it unfortunately, otherwise the speed run might have had a fatality or two.

seeing this makes me realize how average a player i am. I can make it to the last boss with Trident, but I result in sheer failure on the Eternal Champion.

I'm with shincyriades on this one, sesshygirl2006. If you can make it that far with Trident, I am positive that you would be able to finish the game using Shadow. She is probably the second most acrobatic fighter in the game (Jetta clearly being the leader in that department) and as such can avoid most attacks with relative ease.
