They came with ships from the old lands in Messopotamia and started building cities. So, that makes them conquerers. Slaves conquered Byzantian lands and stayed there. Nobody owns the land itself. Greeks have a logical claim on Macedonia, but at the end of the 19th century studies show that it was populated mostly by bulgarians. There were greeks, ofcourse, but less in numbers

The point is that nobody owns the land - there's always SOMEONE, who conquered it. Which makes it stupid to say, that this piece of land is "yours". We're all the same.

Slavs never left since then and that's why Macedonia was and still is populated MOSTLY with people of slavic origin. @Peristerygr What you didn't understand, is that modern Greeks, from all over Greece can read that inscription. Pseudomacedonians cannot because they are of Slavic origine, which is not related to the ancient Macedonians, since they arrived at the area in the approx. 600ac, as Kiro Gligorov (apologies for any misspelling) admitted publicly. You will notice how similar the pseudomacedonian language is to bulgarian and yugoslacian language. Don't you wonder why?
