It means mostly to conserve the current state of the matter. When you apply it to politics, it means to conserve energy (or not waste it), not over spend, and not to allow change from traditional common sense laws that uphold good. Apostle Paul said the law is good is used lawfully. This is conservative thinking.

I'm not a big Mitt fan, but Mitt is definitely way better than Gingrich. In 1998 Gingrich paid a $300K fine to Congress after lying about his illegal tax-dodging scheme. In 1997 Gingrich also introduced legislation to extend the death penalty to consensual crimes. Unfortunately, I cannot vote for Mitt because he seems eager to invade Iran. @sugarlanskee8 Actually, I looked up the meaning of the word conservative awhile back, it seems that I recall that it just means resisting change. It means mostly to conserve the current state of the matter. When you apply it to politics, it means to conserve energy (or not waste it), not over spend, and not to allow change from traditional common sense laws that uphold good. Apostle Paul said the law is good is used lawfully. This is conservative thinking.

Ryan's Plan, which Mitt supports, will cut the tax on these to ZERO (YES - ZERO %) so he can cut Medicare, Medicaid, Social Sec, College Pell Grants & other programs that help the middle & lower classes

I'm not gunna lie, Newt requires the greatest amount of work the be able to back in a morally responsible manner, but once I did the work, I found that there are few people more able than one who has been through the gauntlet(politically,socially,and spiritually)

Can't Trust Newt Gingrich!!! This Is Why!! In 1997 he was fined $300,000 by the US government for ethic violations (1). At one point, he also owed $500,000 to? the jerwlery store, Tiffanys (2). Now that we know that he has? profited $1.6 million from the very govermental agency he has spoken ill about, Freddie? Mac (3). If you don't like Obama, then you need to vote for Ron Paul. In this election there are only three outcomes:
1. Paul runs third party. He takes a significant amount of Republican votes: Obama Wins
2. Paul drops out. His supporters either stay home in protest, or write him in: Obama Wins

I'm not a big Mitt fan, but Mitt is definitely way better than Gingrich. In 1998 Gingrich paid a $300K fine to Congress after lying about his illegal tax-dodging scheme. In 1997 Gingrich also introduced legislation to extend the death penalty to consensual crimes. Unfortunately, I cannot vote for Mitt because he seems eager to invade Iran. I may have to vote for Obama...yuck.

@rebjiii I'm a Mormon and I can tell you that most Mormons DO NOT "endorse" polygamy today, as in the don't think that it should be a practice today. In fact, many Mormons, in their fights against gay marriage, have specifically used the negative argument that allowing gay marriage may lead to the legal battles in favor of polygamous marriages. Mormons today don't want polygamy to come back, no matter what you see on HBO.
