What was that nickname? Candle? That just doesn't sound like a fighting nickname. Great match, and pony73 has said just about everything I might say. I also heard the family comment, "I feel guilty cheering for one and not the other." This young man is obviously being raised to be a fine gentleman as well as a great martial artist, just like Ronan (SERB98) and Brandon (120pkid).
Well done Zach, he looks a very strong and capable grappler for 8 years old. His two reversals to secure mounts were masterful, and towards the end when he had to resist a powerful attack by boy in white shorts he was more than up to the task. Good fight both boys - but it is surely a bad principle to allow 3 years difference in age at this tender age
@pony73 I can't say much about the match, because you have said what I was thinking. I very rarely disagree with you on anything, but I do on the 3-year age difference. I don't see a problem if the key factors of weight and experience level are equivalent, which they are in official matches like this. Some kids might not get a chance to compete if age was a key factor, if they are lighter or heavier than most kids their age. I might feel differently if the ages were 11-14.
3 years is a huge difference in muscle and maturity developement. Love the accent. hehe. Come on Kendel?
