Hey , im getting an indoor dwarf rabbit very soon only i have never ever had a rabbit before so i have a few questions . What should i do when i first get? Im still in school so i have a school alarm and its very load will it scare my rabbit in the morning? How often should i clean it out? Do they smell or when the go to the toilet does it smell?
If anybody could answer those questions it would be great help :)
I love Holland lops but I don't remember holland lops being born with their ears erect, you sure that's not a Netherland dwarf, they're both cute, though
@mktriton It's a Holland Lop, and no rabbits are born with their ears erect. When they are born they ears lie perfectly against their neck. Also it takes time for their ears to flop down.
@poisonpuff Sorry the reply is like 7months later... lol but holland lops are born with ears that stick up, the eventually flop down but it takes time.
@sexiyeti It depends on the parents mostly, usually mine start to come down at about 3-4weeks, they look like little airplanes when this happens because their ears stick out to the sides. (: Some though can take as long as 6 weeks, and some will never come down but this is very very rare. If you have a bunny with stubborn ears just remember to keep working them down by holding you fingers on either side and gently pushing on them, this encourages them. Hope I helped!
No they most certainly arent. They should remain with the mother until they are ATLEAST 4 weeks, but 6-8 weeks is preferable. Weaning them any sooner can cause long term health issues, as they wont be getting the correct nutrients.
your now supposed to let them eat anything but hay and grain for 6 months. eating grass this early could mess up the digestive system, because it is not ready for it, and end up killing your rabbit. be careful..
omg she is so cute! I am breeding my 2 holland lops today for the first time and my sis wanted to see wat the babies would look like, but i have head that many times the first litter doesn't survive. :(

if u spay/neuter ur pet just imagine ur taking away many opportunities of bunny life out there. so ull be taking away a bunny's chance to live. think about that before u do these things. wat if bunnies were the ultimate race and neutered u? owch.
It's for health problems and to lessen the rabbit population. Many rabbits die because they were abandoned and mistreated. Many bunnies also do not get homes because when the owner bred the rabbits, he did not plan ahead.
Oh my gosh! That is the cutest bunny I have ever seen. Holland Lops are the best bunnies you can possibly buy. But I have one question where did you get your rabbit?
Not true all the time. I have a holland lop and she is full grown and very small which she was the runt of the litter but still;the breed does not get very large compared to the rex and the dutch. :)
sooooo cute!! i raise mini rex and netherland dwarfs, i also have a couple lionheads and hollands.
check out my mini rex baby vid plz:)
