Yes, I have 2 bb1600's, this one and a japan made one that is red sun-burst, same one tony kanal used on his tragic kingdom tour with no doubt. The sound matched with an 800rb gallien krueger head is a dream. I had it hooked to a cheap crate amp and a cheap camera mic.

personally, i like the inbanez soundgear... but thats juss me. its around 169 at guitarcenter i think. juss go there , pick up any bass and make sure it feels right to u. ull kno when u find the bass u like.

just go to an music store and talk with the owner he should help you well as long he is not an asshole^^ ibanez soundgear look good and have a pretty good sound and are not that expenive.

Honestly, when it comes to sound, you can´t really take everyones word for it. You kinda have to go out and try some out for yourself. Same for weight. It all depends on how comfortable you are with the instrument.

In the Quieter bit you would be much better off just fingering it. And yeah the tuning is way out.
