  • Word , the GAME is strong in this one.

  • Ahh left over teenage anguish

  • Bones - Opening Episode... don't remember which 1 again though, but its the one where Temperence's dad kills the FBI chief. Or whomever it is haha

  • 16 niggas was like hell naw...

  • @2Evaysiv fu bro

  • I've never been a huge hip-hop fan but I like the majority of Strange Famous artists. Good stuff.

  • Love it!

  • This song has always been in my playlist. Sage is a beast. If you get a chance check out the music on my page. Either way I love this track.

  • Look up the lyrics they're understandable

  • this doesn't pertain to anyone in particular, especially on this particular video but I have to say it....

Ah, youtube comment boards, where the most philisophical questions can be asked and be answered by the most moronic people out there.... though it may not always be the case, it's still funny to throw a question out there and get a stupid answer, and it's also funny to see comments on songs with meaning like these from people who miss said meaning and try to "insult" it.

  • So much meaning behind this song, 90% of our population would sadly be unable to fully comprehend what he is actually portraying with his words.

  • I don't think the music I enjoy is a reflection of my intelligence... But, when I observe people getting all into some of the meaningless shit that's out there, I can't help but consider the possibility that it may be a reflection of their complete lack of intelligence. Some of it is absolutely unbearable!

  • Mother fucker he's good.

  • hairy testicles

  • Such a profoundly sad song. Beautiful.

  • @northeasy I agree with you that those that attempt to make others feel inferior with their music choices are ignorant. However, there is a difference in the music. I have much more respect for guys like Sage who take their talent and make art. They make something reaches in and establishes a connection between the soul of the listener and the soul of the speaker. You can enjoy all films and all musics certainly, but let's not say that Shawshank Redemption is equal to Never Say Never.

  • Why do people find it necessary to prove their self-worth with the kind of music they like as if there was some type of causation between the two? I enjoy all types of hip-hop just like I enjoy all kinds of film. It's entertainment, all of it. If you think the type of music you enjoy is a reflection of your superior intelligence then you're just ignorant.

  • @northeasy well said bro, to many dumass kids hating on music these days!!

  • @northeasy food for thought: the romans saw the gladiators, the sex slaves and any other types of slaves as entertainment, society nowadays doesn't. hmm.. maybe we are ignorant, all of us..

  • @fuzzynuttedbeast monkeyhood at its finest, all of us

  • @northeasy yeah but you cant shake the aristocratic feeling mozart brings.

  • @northeasy maybe that's the difference? It's all entertainment. You can't zone out and listen to rappers like this. You have to fully listen if you want to understand, and often many times over. I agree, there are some arrogant people who think they are superior because of what they listen to. That doesn't change the fact that some of these lyrics *require* a better understanding than the average listener is used to.

  • @SomeoneOnTheRun I get that there are different levels of intricacy in entertainment, whether it be music, television or anything else. Sage Francis is a great rapper and there are a lot of great conscientious rappers that bring a deeper meaning to the content of their music. Having said that, I also enjoy lil wayne. Am I here to pretend that lil wayne is on the same level lyrically as sage? No of course not but they also aren't in the same genre. Lil wayne's music is a form of escapism.

  • @SomeoneOnTheRun My girlfriend is the smartest person I know. You would never be able to deduce that based on her music and television preferences. She loves Shania Twain and loves Grey's Anatomy. Why? Because after spending hours in her medical textbooks she doesn't have any brain power or time left to try to digest and analyze lyrics or immerse herself in seasons of breaking bad. She just wants a quick fix of entertainment. Her academic life provides her enough mental stimulation.

  • @SomeoneOnTheRun At the end of the day we judge entertainment based on what it provides for us individually. If you want to express your intelectualism through your taste in music, that's fine. But don't assume that people who enjoy lil wayne aren't capable of understanding sage's lyrics. Sometimes we just don't need our music to reflect philosophical ideologies that we already agree with. Sometimes I just want to listen to flow, assonance, homophones...regardless of intellectual merit.

  • Luffs it <3

  • race? who won? is there an art show?

  • Hey I have a suggestion, SHUT THE FUCK UP AND ENJOY THE GOD DAMMED MUSIC. Its not about race its about the art.

  • @IzrailGhazi Thank you so much for creating hip hop. I owe you my life! Praise the black folks!

  • @IzrailGhazi So what you are saying is that you do not judge hip hop on the strength of the hook, the power of the lyrics or the intellect of the words but rather on the color of the artist? A man or woman of a different race than the one who originated a "thing" cannot in any way contribute to its evolution? So according to your life philosophy do we have to discount the way the black man forever changed the face of some sport since they did not create it first? Your thinking confuses me.

  • @IzrailGhazi We created the fucking language dont use it then.

  • How it feel to be a dumbass?

  • @IzrailGhazi hell ill bet yer mommas white so that makes you half white you self hatin cracka ass cracka. i can tell yer white cause you refer to us as black or brown ?folk? you must be like carlton from fresh prince all rich with tax break written all over ya!

  • @IzrailGhazi

dont listen to this man people. he has consumed too much paint to function coherently.

  • @IzrailGhazi stupid nigger.

  • @IzrailGhazi Way to reinforce pretty much every stereotype. Good job breaking the mold.

  • Sage Francis is a fucking genius. 'Nuff said.

  • I like what I'm reading its nice. Hey ness3000 don't judge intelect because people like to tell others to suck cock.. especially in hell, that shit was funny. If you are here its because you love excellent lyrics and superb beats. Best rapper ever... Who knows... Meanwhile check out -- Last Laugh, a masterpiece, monsterous flow by Trunks and onCue DOOM with production. UNICRON

  • aesop is the best

  • it's funny how so many comments claim to be wiser than thou for listening to intellectual rap. yet they always end with "suck a cock" or "faggot". I would have never figured sage francis fans to be homophobic. pretty disappointing. .

  • I'm a punk/hardcore lover, and sage francis is both awesome and brilliant.

  • freakin dope... enough said

  • the force of his of his love was strongggggggg

  • I like this actually. I like that his voice can carry the melody instead of just rapping to the beat. It's laughable to compare this to Lil Wayne as they are practically different genre's of music. But for anyone to say this is deeper or better than Eminem, that is ridiculous. One of Em's songs bodies 5 of these songs and his lyrics are incredible as he raps about his life's struggles and experiences. Eminem is the most talented rapper there ever was but that doesnt mean you cant also like Sage.

  • @robofish312

Honestly I don't think eminem or sage are the 'most talented rapper ever' and neither would they. Also rapping about his life's struggles? The dude was quadrillionaire in his mid twenties.. ..as a normal guy of the same age as him.. I can assure you that most of us have it a lot harder kid.

  • @robofish312 i disagree. One of his songs bodies 5 of sages songs? you've gotta be kidding. Rapping about life struggles definitely tops singing about money, drugs and bitches, but eminem lacks subtlety and his subject matter doesnt top the philisophical and symbolic points and ideas that sage raps about . Eminem is good, and in general he makes other rappers look like amatures in his presence, but to put it bluntly sage is just a better word-smith than eminem.

  • Guess what?.... Listverse.

  • @dangsthurt this comment doesn't make me mad. i have been on LV for years and been on Sage for even longer. i hope you enjoy his music as much as i have.

  • @dangsthurt wat language..do not bring shame to Listverse...its a good site guys u should visit

  • lol so many debates on sage songs. sage francis is a fucking mastermind

  • @groalertable ROFL. That's the stupidest fucking thing I've read in a long time. You definitely jerk guys off with your mouth. Just like your boy Wayne. Have fun with your garbage rap, polesmoke. :D

  • sorry xD i had to ;p

  • fucking great song

  • "Ma, look what I did Ma. Look what I did to my hands hands, I broke em'. You gave me the saw and gave me the chisel, didn't say how to hold em'."

This line is my favorite. He obviously had no parental guidance. I love the way he put it though. Gives a very eerie and dark vibe. Just wanna say a thanks to the people who appreciate this music. Im surrounded by the brainwashed daily.

  • @pinkslyberry

I feel the same exact way. :)

  • @pinkslyberry stone & chisel

  • I don't need your go-ahead to go ahead.

  • Thumbs up if Bones led you here!!

  • seattle is one of the whitest places I know. try again.

  • @groalertable Kid... Just get the fuck out of here.. no one wants to hear your bitch about your shitty manstream rapper with a sore throat. Listen to some real music.

  • let's talk about sage. Sage is awesome.

  • i heard this on Bones

  • who the fuck is lil wayne? i came here for sage!

  • pandora got it right man

  • @wanaa66 Everyone has different tastes in music. Its ridiculous to put down other people's music preferences, just drop it. We can't help what kind of music we enjoy, I may LOVE Sage, but so what if someone enjoys Lil' Wayne, who gives a fuck, its an opinion.

  • who gives a fuck?take little wayne chat to a litlle wayne video

  • @groalertable lil wayne is prue crap. you're just too dumb to relize it. sage is NOT of beat, lil wayne is. he doesn't make rap, he makes crap. for example that song of him called prom queen. is there anyone who can make up anything dumber. shhhhhhhhhhh why do i even bother arguing with you? i shouldn't even waste my time on you but i did because your statement is completely wrong.

  • @groalertable haha you're a complete idiot! Sage has better flow, lyrical geniality, he doesn't use those crappy autotune voices like little wayne. sage francis is an Indie hip hop pioneer and has won various freestyle tournaments like Scribble Jam 2000. Lil wayne has nothing on Sage and don't you forget that!

  • @groalertable

"Big house, long hallways, got ten bathrooms, I can shit all day, nigga."

    -Lil Wayne

and no, i think its nice to listen to a profound song once in a while, but i listen to what i think sounds good.

  • I love that people have to argue about Lil Wayne when they're listening to Sage's music. Who cares?

  • @groalertable

i'll bet you include lil wayne in that category, huh.

  • @groalertable

haha, and who the fuck are you..?

name off some better rappers then

  • thank you, bones! :)

  • Heard this on Bones

  • @najhoant Me Too, Bones Music is Awesome....they play really meaningful songs not just that stupid crap most people are in love with.

  • @MultiKswift I have no idea what that is. I meant Bones, the TV series. The episode is called "Judas on the Pole"

  • TairyHesticles my msn in profile! Sage Francis - Sea Lion

  • Hairy Testicles

  • you have a funny name tairy

  • Comment removed

  • satanist ??? omg get a fucking life you poor brainwashed person... how ironic that your listening to sage

  • @nikai123456789 why would that be ironic?

  • The force of my love was strong. The sea lion lay down long. Song in the air. Why should singer care? When singer can be among song. (8) ♪

  • With reference to the triple x, if you guys listened to few more Sage tracks you might notice that he´s straight edge and it´s this that the 3 X´s represent...

  • @rhymempw

Yeah, that's what I was thinkin'

  • @groalertable You sir are retarded, I live in a neighborhood full of black people, I even have black friends and I listen to this as well....Gee go fuckin figure that one out einstien

  • @groalertable Wow

  • boring!!!!!!!!!!

  • @groalertable Sage Francis is for those who appreciate hip hop enough to actually listen to underground and not your shitty lil wayne who talks about his gay lover or whatever he raps about.

  • @greenmonsterpuppies @greenmonsterpuppies Brilliant post you are so unique because you like underground material. I like Sage but this whole underground vs mainstream debate is as played out as mac vs pc. Get a grip.

  • @zaguilar1 There must be a misunderstanding here, my good man. I didnt comment with that remark because I wanted to be deemed cool because I listen to underground and hate mainstream. I wrote it to express my feelings about artists who are slowly sucking away the life from music. Poetry was made to express one's feelings about a certain topic and rappers like Sage Francis uphold this ideal whereas rappers like lil wayne endlessly rap abouut the same topic.

  • @greenmonsterpuppies (cont.) There is not one meaningful thing in lil waynes raps and if there is a song that hes made that is seemingly meaningful it doesnt matter because theres 100 other songs about sex, drugs and killing people for wearing the wrong color by him. Sage Francis raps about the truth and speaks wisdom.

  • @greenmonsterpuppies the sun is a star and iran is an old country..... oh Im sorry I thought we were stating the obvious....

  • @greenmonsterpuppies lil wayne is trash but its best to do your research before you bag on what he raps about because " or whatever he raps about " isnt a very convincing arguement. just saying

  • @groalertable if you think the lyrics are corny the only explanation I can think of is that you aren't intelligent enough to understand the metaphors. Sage is for smart hip hop heads. Which obviously isn't you who has Birdman feat Lil Wayne and Eminem in your favourites

  • @groalertable

    ...what a dumbass

  • lol. he's a satanist OH NO

everybody stop listening to this AMAZING, wonderful, inspiring, lyrical genius!

  • Healthly Distrust & Human the Death Dance. FUCKING GENIUS.

  • isn't this song in Bones?

  • @Shino8678 yep it is in Bonnes, 2nd season, 11th episode, just at the beginning :)

  • The XXX is obviously a reference to straight edge. He lives a clean lifestyle and he's a vegetarian too. It's a very common symbol in the hardcore punk community.

  • love it thanks for posting

  • I just heard them play this on Bones...

First time I have ever heard anything from Strange Famous on television... Ever

  • Madvillain=Madlib and Doom (hence MADvillain)

  • the only thing I dont like about this song is the rap bit in it which really sucks

  • i effin' love this song!! it's been stuck in my head for days!!!!

  • Love Bones. (: They have the best music.

  • i wish i could choreograph to this song

  • It was on Bones (2x11) love it! :)

  • Love it <3

  • i watched bones and i didnt hear this

  • @NickYaDeadHomie22 It's literally at the beginning, when you see the setup of the episodes scenario. I just started over watching the four seasons I have and when I came to this today, I needed to find the song. Thanks for posting it.

  • He Does It Best

  • i heard this song from bones. i absolutely LOVE that show! = D

  • Oh , yeah. I remember this from Bones. I love that show(:

  • wtf this was on a show?

  • I was flipping channels and I heard the beat, and I was like what the hell?!

Surprised to hear his song at the beginning of a t.v. show ('Bones'). I don't watch the show, but I guess whatever promotes this awesome song and artist and gets more people to hear it can't be bad.

I first got turned on to Sage by a mixed martial artist who always used his music as his entrance music (in Jason "Mayhem" Miller).

  • Heard this on Bones. :D

  • me too and thats why I was searching for this song :D

  • i love this song and this bit the force of my love was strong the lion lay down long song in the air why should singer care when siger can be amoung song

  • Not just CREAM man. There were alot more songs on that album that were alot better than CREAM. OK mainstream would be a 'rapper' going platinum or getting radio play or TV time and GZA and Mos Def have had alot of that. Everyone knows who Mos Def is. And if people don't know who GZA is than they are complete fools.

  • n thats because of they're past big hits in previous albums like C.R.E.A.M from 36 chambers which made people want to buy the rest of the album on the strength of that one single

  • Listen I am not saying that GZA and Mos Def aren't tight as hell, but the appeal to the mainstream media. GZA's album everyone is expecting a Wu-Tang Album and that is what they get from most of them. MOs Def everyone knows who he is. THerefore he is mainstream. It's like Infinite and Swollen Members not a lot of the "mainstream" even know who they are but you listen to them and they blow away anything that is being played today. 50 is a chump, he is all about his "I get money" instead music.

  • i understand what you'r saing but what is mainstream is what you'd expect from every other "rapper" and gza n mos def are not every other rapper.they're just more well known than saukrates or swolen members etc

  • its not because hes a satanist nor does it mean 666. xxx means straight edge. sage francis clearly says in a couple songs some stuff about not drinking

  • That's fucking stupid.

  • I know - but it's true. Look it up.

  • I'll have to look into that. That's a very interesting claim you make.

  • @TairyHesticles yeah dude its shenanigans. xxx can mean alot of things, it has mulitple acronyms

  • @TairyHesticles If that's how he feels who cares? haha he still makes good music

  • @TairyHesticles The fact that you'd even respond to the "pop culture pastor" and give him shine in this youtube video you've unrightfully posted is RIDICULOUS. You are a dumb person. Seriously. If you don't remove the videos eventually your account will be deleted. Either way, you're still an idiot.

  • @therealsagefrancis First off, who the fuck are you to call out tairy for posting a video, it has been up since 2008. Which according to your calculations makes it way past due for deletion. Second, pop culture is making a claim based on what he believes to be fact, like you, me , and the O.P. fo the video. Third, 90% of the hippity hoppity vids on you tube that have come to influence my everyday listening habbits are uploaded by Mr. Hairy... errr... TairyHesticles.

  • @austinonion well therealsagefrancis as you could have found out yourself is (surprise, surprise) Sage Francis who btw created this piece of art you just listened to...

  • @Denolc Yes. It is THE REAL SAGE......Love it.

  • @austinonion How stupid are you to not realize that you just asked Sage Francis what rights he had to call out someone who posted his song illegally? Also, you think that Sage Francis doesn't know the truth about what he believes?

  • @therealsagefrancis sage he's is trying to show ppl your music. put a smile on for recognition, do you want fans or money.

  • @therealsagefrancis I sincerely hope you aren't the real Sage. I'd think the real Sage wouldn't be such an idiot about people spreading his music like this; if not for Youtube and to a smaller extent Tairy Hesticles, I wouldn't listen to half the stuff I do now, Sage Francis included.

Keep up the good work, Tairy. I still lol at your name.

  • @therealsagefrancis i find it hard to believe that you actually are sage francis since it is easy to imposter someone. his channel won't be removed since the music isn't mainstream, youtube won't be sued for millions of they don't remove it.

  • @therealsagefrancis The real Sage Francis doesn't want people to share his music?

Damn, not listening to you again on purpose. Which means I won't be listening to you hahaha.

  • @ThePopCulturePastor

I'm not entirely sure which claim you're saying is true here, but I'm reasonably sure that Sage Francis is an Atheist, not a Satanist. According to a brief autobiography passage and a few 3rd party bios I've turned up, he's at least very strongly anti-religious.

  • @ThePopCulturePastor

From everything I've been able to find (including a bio purportedly written by the man himself), Sage Francis is Atheistic, or at most strongly against religion categorically, not Satanist. Oh, and even if XXX is the occult symbol you claim, and even if you assume that Sage uses it in that context in his album art, one can use a religion's symbols without belonging to it.

  • @NovemberXXVII The XXX is the 'straight edge' symbol, which means he doesn't use any sort of chemical, including tobacco, weed or alcohol. I believe this album was made right after he got sober.

  • @ThePopCulturePastor although, some biblical scholars are now saying 666 is a mistranslation. Originally, it was 616....look it up. Either way, it's insignificant cuz i doubt Sage is trying to send the message you interpreted.

  • @ThePopCulturePastor

This would mean something if satan were a real thing

  • @TairyHesticles george bush is a satanist

  • No, it's because he's straight edge.

Even if it was an 'occult' way to write '666' that wouldn't mean he was a Satanist. Lots of people use 666 as a way to be anti-authoritarian, annoy the religious etc.

And on the off chance he was a Satanist, so what? There's lots of types of Satanists & most aren't the 'I eat babies' kind... and since this supposed Satanism doesn't intrude into his lyrics at all I don't see why it would matter.

'666' doesn't even mean Satan anyway.

  • @ThePopCulturePastor That's not even remotely true. I am a satanist, and I have never heard of or seen that used by a practicing satanist anywhere.

  • @ThePopCulturePastor no. just...no.

  • its not stupid. its obvious

  • @ThePopCulturePastor

Is the number of the beast not really 616? surely a true satanist would know this?

  • @ThePopCulturePastor it's Pythagorean for 666 if that's what you're talking about. but Pythagoras (the originator) was a philosopher. It was like astrology.

  • @ThePopCulturePastor the occult thing is completely outlandish. i looked it up

  • @ThePopCulturePastor Not everyone believes in imaginary friends like you. He is NOT a satanist. He frequently raps about realizing religions are bullshit. If you don't believe in god you're not gonna believe theres a satan.

  • @ThePopCulturePastor

Triple X is also a way to show sobriety, it also means explicit; theres more then one meaning bro dont asume that the triple x is triple 6 bro.

  • @ThePopCulturePastor rofl i've seen your videos. Just another christian trying to find satanism in every area possible. The devil only exists because of your believe in him....

  • Comment removed

  • @ThePopCulturePastor I could have sworn Triple X stood for XXX... aka porn.

  • @efyoo2 no way man i swear XXX was moonshine

  • @ThePopCulturePastor The true number of the beast is 616 not 666

  • @wasp243 you know what you're so witty!

  • @ThePopCulturePastor That doesn't make any sense. If he was secretly a Satanist, why would he leave clues? Especially ones which are apparently so easy to figure out?

  • @ThePopCulturePastor " and this is where i found a friend in Christ, and i also found a few spikes and i decided to use them as pegs on my bike so you'd have a place a stand when i broke you out of that vice"

"conveniently religious on easter sunday and on Christmas"

the way i view it, look at his lyrics before you make ridiculous claims like that... he is far from a satanist, maybe he's insinuating that the devil haunts/follows him everywhere he goes.

    oblivious mate, clueless.

  • @ThePopCulturePastor i could beleive that,in one of his pictures,he was throwin up the satan horns with his hand
