  • @Rawdhappy Well, I guess they would be gotten:( They are instinctive, and stay under bushes and canopies during most of the day. They sleep inside at night. They've been getting to live happy, free lives for three years now with no problems. That's already better than 10 years in a cage.

  • what a lovely cage your rabbits are very lucky but i think i saw a dog.....would that harm them and be carful with hawks and they could get fleas or bugs like ticks could get to them with that much freedom.just saying

  • @harrypotFE Thank you. No, my dogs and rabbits get along wonderfully. Yes, birds of prey are always a concern. I just choose to let them be rabbits in spite of that worry. Three years so far with no incident. They do sleep in the house at night, which is when most dangerous predators are on the move.

  • don't they burrow holes and burrow out?!?!

  • @hollyanddaizy No. They have never tried, and if they did they wouldn't succeed. Our fence goes deeper into the earth than you might imagine, and our ground is rocky and hard. Three years and no digging yet.

  • yea!! FREEDOM!! LOVE IT! whaht happend if they want to burrow themself out of your garden?

  • @TheTeddyhamster Yes, freedom is priceless. They have been with me for three years and have never dug.

  • omg ur rabbits r adorible lol i love the lopy eared one

  • i want a rabbit but i already got a hamster when he passess i might get one but you know how it is not easy getting money when your thirteen

  • do you let them go out side of their bedrooms in the winter with snow?

  • @ChasingOldLadies Well, they sleep in the house at night year round. They are allowed to go out in the snow, but usually they want to come back in the house after a few minutes of play, and I ofcourse let them in as soon as they are ready.

  • how much did it cost and who did you get to make it?

  • @nathbloc240 About $350. My uncle made it for me.

  • I believe that you have done an amazing job! Thank you for being such a wonderful guardian to the precious animals. I know we are all judged for our behaviors and I am sure you have pleased our Creator with your kindness and hardwork. Thank you again for showing me that their are good people left in this world.

  • @yoohoo201 Thank you so much for that!

  • What kind of rabbit is apple jack?

  • @BurgerAndTaco A.J. is a Rex.

  • pancake is my favorite!!!

  • pancake is my favorite!!!

  • do you keep them in at night?

  • @Lstar8D Yes, they sleep in my laundry room every night.

  • i love buckley's ears <3 :D

  • For my two rabbits, we took the wire squares from one of the wire bookcases/shelves, and make a three story cage. the rabbits love it, but we keep our rabbits inside, so i dont know if it would rust when it rained. also, advantages of a wire cage are that the rabbits won't be tempted to bite the wire, so they eat hay. If the wood was hard enough, it could harm their teeth. it is a very cool pen, but just be careful because rabbits can dig under fences and get out of the yard. :) they are cute!!!

  • 5:52 keep clikc after she said "

    pancake, no"

  • @sumacskates Yes, when I saw pancake digging I said that, but after I turned off the camera and went over I realized he was just digging in the garden dirt for roots, which he does all of the time. None of them have ever dug on the fence line in any kind of an attempt to get out. They love their home and rabbits are homebodies anyway.

  • How do you keep their hutch so clean? I don't see a litter box? Nice set up/ Mine dig too much. One killed himself by digging out, very sad.

  • @MamaOkie It's clean because they only use it when they want and it's never locked up. They use the entire yard as their potty. And they sleep inside at night.

  • @connorlong1 Well, I'm a vegetarian, so I don't see eating rabbit as any more sad than eating cows. Whatever works for you.

  • The best I have ever saw

  • 3:25 he finely go down the ramp

  • hi, the black white spotted rabbit what kind is that cuz i have like almosst the exact same one and we dont know what type it is i have a video of him

  • i luv buckley!

  • thats an awesome hutch! my rabbit would love it :)

  • What do you do in the winter?

  • Now that's what i call a really good bunny home! :D

  • do you close it at night

  • that's gunna be our WHAT??

  • WHOA!!!!!! nice hutch i mean very nice detail i wish i had one.

  • Holy cow! That's not a Hutch, that's a whole apartment!

  • wow is so cute,i think the rabbits are living happily on that place :)

  • wow is that your garden mam

  • I think its great just how happy the bunnies are :) I wish someone around here built hutches like that, although sadly, I could never let them out full time. Instead, they do have free run of a shed.

  • OMG love that rabbit hutch wish i could let my bunnie run in the garden

  • OMG i love your rabbit hutch i wish i could let my bunnie do that.

  • @Rawdhappy That would be aweful. I choose to allow them to have some freedom and enjoyment even with that risk. 3 years now, and no incidents with birds. I did see a hawk stalking them one day, so I kept them in. It was during a very cold week, so I am more cautious in the winter.

  • could u keep ferrets in that type of hutch..

  • @ferretlad8 It depends on how well they dig. My rabbits can't dig under our fence because the ground is full of rock and clay. It's so hard that a dog couldn't even dig under. Of course our hutch is just used for them to have a place to hide and play, because we leave it open and they only play outside during the day and sleep inside our house at night.

  • thats luxury for you rabbits, ausome ausome cage.

  • Nice job but do you have mosquito problems where you live? We had 2 rabbits that lived outside in a hutch but escaped while we were on vacation. We had a neighbor watching them but he just couldn't keep them from digging out. Anyways to make a long story short 6 months ago we had to put them both to sleep because they contracted Myxomatosis which is almost always deadly. Just an FYI.

  • @Eqkrishena Not a big mosquito problem here, but we always have more things happen to them in the summer. I learned that if they have any sores not to let them play outside during the summer, because flies lay eggs in the wound. So far, we've been lucky and have been able to fix the problems, but we are learning. They only play outside when the temperatures are good for rabbits, and they always sleep inside at night.

  • really great looking rabbit hutch. is it hard to clean up the bottom of their cage...in the grass?

  • @ilsdmspjs We leave the gate open, it's just a hutch for playing and shelter, so we don't have a problem. I clean the poop out of the top easily, and they always pee on the grass by choice.

  • That's amazing nice job!! By the way did you make it yourself if not where you buy it? :)

Oh another question how do you clean their droppings?

  • @ilikecake3000 Thank you. My uncle built it. I just scrape the droppings out on the top, and they pee on the grass. They don't live in the hutch, there isn't any build up on bottom.

  • That's amazing nice job!! By the way did you make it yourself if not where you buy it? :)

  • @misssuperstarbellz No, I'm not on a rabbit forum.

  • really cool i like it

  • This is really cool! Very smart! Most rabbit cages dont have enough space for them to get exercise. I love how the cage is setup!

  • @soccerchick24913 Thank you!

  • Can I say something? You really love your rabbits? did you know that they love you because they have so a wonderfull home? Great work, lovley and happy bunnies!

  • @TheDarkWolfgirlNo1 Thank you! I do believe they love me:)

  • @TheDarkWolfgirlNo1 Thank you! I do love them and do my best to give them quality lives.

  • I would be worried about birds of prey getting the bunnies when they are out roaming around in the yard.

  • @george8873 I'd be lying if I said I didn't worry. They are prey to everything. I have had my rabbits for over two years. I had to make a decision. I'm really busy, but I do work at home, so I can let them play outside, but I just don't have 4 hours a day to sit out there with them. My rabbits are truly happy. And I made the decision to allow them to live like a rabbit with minimal danger. I'd rather do this than keep them inside all the time which doesn't make them happy.

  • What if they dig a whole in the ground?

  • @joni233898 I can't even dig a hole in that ground under the fence with a shovel. Rocky, rocky mess. 2 years and nothing bad has happened. However, I do bring them in when I'm not home to check on them and I always bring them in at night.

  • Those rabbits are so cute i have three of my own i just love themto death!! I think that your cage is amazing and i love that u have that big enough yard to let them run and get exercise and graze!! awesome video u should make some more!! And also to help there teeth to stay short throw a block of wood in there cage and they will eat on the block and it will help the teeth and when the block is gone throw in anough the rabbits will love it and it doesnt hurt them at all!!

  • they are so lucky. I would be worried to leave them in such a big garden tho because of cats or incase 1 of them got out....

  • I used to give them more freedom. I only allow them outside during the day, and only if I'm here to look out on them frequently.

  • ahhhhhhhhhh Beautiful bunny Family.

  • IS it safe for them on the grass? What about bugs?

  • @GerardLuver777 I believe so. Rabbits are meant to forage in the wild, and even domestic rabbits have instincts about what to eat and what not to eat. My rabbits have spent a lot of time outside for two years now, and seem to eat only what is okay for them. I've never had any problems. I have had flies lay eggs on one of their sores before, and I cleaned it all out and put him on antibiotics. It was fine.

  • I wish I could build my bunny a cage like this. :/ I'm desperately trying to find one so that I can get her a friend to play with. Right now I just spend time with her.. a lot...I'd like a big enough cage like this where she can run around. :(

  • i wish my bunny, Cinnamon, had a sweet hutch like that one.

im going to try to build one next summer, thank you for showing you're cute bunnies and their home

  • @Raiffjr Thank you!

  • @heidianddaisy if you find time, go to my page. it has my bunny on it

  • @Raiffjr I will.

  • I have four house bunnies, 2 pairs. They take it turns to come out, so they're each out for 12 hours a day. I love your bunnies, good work.

  • @rubusroo68 That's awesome! You are great to let your bunnies have so much time outside. That sounds very much like my schedule for them. I have 3 bunnies, Pancake gets along with Buckley and Applejack, but Buckley and Applejack hate each other now. So Pancake gets to go outside everyday, and the other two take turns being out with Pancake.

  • @smallandfurry0115 Thank you:)

  • thanks do ur bunnys cum inside he house at all

  • @TheDancecrazyladee Yes, they spend a lot of time inside.

  • what is the sizes of this i have a male female bro n sis called dave n kayla in seperta cages i want to bulid this buh puh an extra livin room area n expand the play area n split is so the bunnys are sepertaed nt spayed neuterd yet?

  • @TheDancecrazyladee It's about 10 ft long and 3 ft deep. I think it's 5 ft tall.

  • How do you make sure that your rabbits are safe inside the rabbit hutch?

  • I don't think a cat could get in, and dogs can't get into our yard. Our ground is rock and impossible to dig deep enough to get under our privacy fence. We live in an area that doesn't really have wild animals. I don't lock them in the huch anyway.

  • Have You Got Pancake Neutered Yet ?

  • Yes, as soon as he was old enough. The rabbits were very one track minded before being neutered! Once they were neutered they became wonderful pets.

  • pancake looks like my lucy i just got her today

  • I love your rabbits!!! I have two rabbits named Oreo and Almond and they both have their own hutches.

  • do you ever put them in they're cage o

  • Rarely.

  • Rabbits seem to be happier when they're outside, as long as they have a good hutch and people to play with occasionally.

  • I couldn't agree more. I bring them in to sleep at night, and if it's below 40 or above 85 they stay in. They always act lathargic when they are inside and play and binky when they are outside.

  • dont you every get scared that a snake or other animal would come and attack them and like in 5:55 they would find or dig a whole and escape

  • No, I'm not afraid of that. I realize there is some chance of that, although I don't live in an area with many wild animals, and our ground is so rocky and hard that we require machines just to dig our garden,so a dog getting in would be almost impossible. I've always said, the joy they experience while living from their freedom is worth the risk of them dying from an animal attack. So, far they lived two years with this freedom with no animal attacks. They get to come in when it's hot or cold.

  • Two years of this life is much better than 10 years of living in a cage and getting an hour or less a day to even run around, which is the sentence most rabbits receive when born.

  • how do you clean up ll the feces? i bet the grass gets covered with it after a while. thats what mine do.

  • I leave the hutch gate open, so they can run in and out and play in the yard. There has never been a feces build up on the grass at the bottom of the hutch.

  • @heidianddaisy ohh alrightyy thanks :]

  • I'm going to build my rat cage based on this design I love it lol

  • There is a problem the wood floor will rot from the urine and feces.

  • It has been my experience that the rabbits go down the ramp and urinate downstairs on the grass. Rabbits like to be clean and keep their living conditions clean. Although they do poop all over the place, the feces has not damaged the wood. I've had the hutch for over a year, and so far the wood is in perfect condition. I have read that wire floors are terrible on little rabbit feet and is not recommended.

  • It's also a good idea to sweep out and clean the hutch often enough to keep it sanitary. My rabbits aren't locked up, so it takes awhile to get dirty, but if rabbits were to spend the majority of their day in this hutch, it would probably require daily sweeping upstairs. I do not recommend using hay because it can get moldy. I use only old sheets and towels for padding now.

  • How much was this?

And what about like fleas/ticks that are found in the grass? Just curious :)

  • I think the supplies cost about $400. My uncle built it for me.

  • @heidianddaisy Oh, well thats very affordable! Didnt go it could run that cheap. Thanks :)

  • That is one really nice Rabbit home. Wish I had the room for one. There is a lot to learn about rabbits. Thanks

  • Yes there is. They are very complicated and yet rewarding pets.

  • I remember when this video only had like 80 views. I didn't realize it got so many. I remember watching it last summer and getting inspirations for my own vudeo. Nice rabbit hutch. Good job giving them freedom.

  • Wow! I didn't realize how many views this vid got. I remember watching it last summer and getting inspired for my own hutch. Great video. I remember when this video only had like 80 views. Nice hutch.

  • Thank you!

  • Thats soo cool! They must love it soo much!

  • This is sooo cool!!! I love how u dont keep them trapped in there, they can just go when the want. Its amazing!!! You are great for doing this and not trapping them like some people!! : )

  • Thank you!

  • Your rabbit must love it!!!

  • what a wonderful set up. adorable rabbits too. Im so glad to see how well you take care of them but watch out. that dog still has instict you know. I wish i can do that with my rabbit but we dont have a fence at our house. that black on kind of looks like mine

  • Too bad there aren't more rabbit owners as good as you. Most people build rabbit hutches with wire flooring or hutches that are way too small for the amount they have. Very nice seeing someone who cares a lot for their pets :]

  • So sweet:) Thank you! I do LOVE my bunnies. I don't understand the wire flooring. That can't be comfortable. It's easy to scrape out the doodoo on the top floor, and I have sheets for bedding that they pee on sometimes, but I wash them when they get dirty. For the most part they pee and poop outside on the grass, as they don't like to dirty up their comfortable living quarters:)))

  • Wow what an amazing enclosure for your rabbits! My brother and I are going to make our own rabbit hutch and now we have some ideas as to where to start. So thanks for this video!

  • You're Welcome! Sounds like you will have some happy rabbits.

  • Wow, I do love seeing happy bunnies in huge hutches! Far too many bunnies live in hutches too small. Yours is amazing.

  • Your rabbit cage is amazing! I have a rabbit that is 6 years old and he is my baby. I'm on my second cage and it sort of sucks. It has a very shallow bottom and leaks his pee out the side even when it is freshly cleaned. I live in an apartment so I can't have him outside often. All cages I have seen online are the same. The person that made this cage for you, does he make other cages? I would be very interested in one if he did!

  • Hey, I love your bunnies! I just wanted to know how do you keep them in the yard and not from running away? I have a hutch with a run but I want to let him roam but I'm scared. Any suggestions? Thanks!

  • It hasn't been an issue. Our fence is solid. You see one rabbit digging in the video, but he's digging for roots. They do that all of the time. They've never dug a hole on the fence line, and even if they tried it's rocky, hard, clay ground that's impossible to dig through. Honestly, it's as simple as this. They believe that huge back yard is the world, and the hutch and our garage is the "cage" that they go to for shelter. They are happy and love their territory.

  • Also, I didn't just let them run free without supervision at first. Once I realized they made a territory out of the yard, had a routine, etc. I felt comfortable. I think the happiness they experience every single day with their freedom and space is worth the risks. I bring them in at night during the winter and in the day during the summer. You might see how it goes with you watching them. They couldn't possibly dig out with you standing there, and you could get an idea.

  • Make sure your yard is secure (fenced all around) so he cant escape... Also, if you ever let him out, watch him, especially if there are cats around. So, let him out, but stay with him or just watch him. On days where you sit outside reading a book or sun-baking or whatever, that is the perfect time to let him out, just dont take your eye off him...

  • the hutch is rabbit paradise and your garden is just paradise!!!

    regards from ireland.

  • Thank you for that compliment. For me, having the beautiful rabbits hopping around my yard is what makes it a paradise:)

  • In their pen thing on the bottom.. how far down does the fence go?

  • I believe it is ten foot long by 4 foot wide from top to bottom.

  • Where did you get the hutch from? I love it!!! :D

  • My uncle built it for me. Thank you.

  • wow freakin lucky rabbits!

  • Thanks, I loved the video of your cute white rabbit!!! He reminds me of my Petie boy.

  • Oh WOW I love that hutch!

I have 8 rabbits, 3 of them are Black Rexes like Applejack, who desperately need a new hutch.

I'm in the UK, but if I was closer I would very definetely want to get one!!!

    Your rabbits live in heaven.

  • Thank you! I do my best. They have come inside to sleep at night since the heat of summer has been over. Now they are scratching on my backdoor about an hour after dark every night. I think they are mostly excited because that's when they get their daily veggie and fruit snacks.

  • you should water at least the grass that they live on beneath so that it is nice and green :)

  • They are not confined to that grass, because they are not locked in the hutch. And where we live, grass isn't green in the winter.

  • Wow thats a cool set up!

  • isnt it hard to get when they have the yard

  • Isn't what hard to get?

  • the rabbit what if you need to pick them up and u cant cause you dont know where they are or you cant catch them?

  • Oh, well we live in a subdivision, so our yard isn't very big. It's very easy to find them immediately. If I need to pick them up and they are being playful and won't let me, I calmly herd them to the house, and they walk in voluntarily. It's easy to pick them up in there.

  • I have two rabbits. They have a run and a big big hutch. They dont really like me very much but I'm hoping of trianing them. I used to be able to pick them up but now I cant. I to scard. But as time gose by them day will come when my rabbits eill like me.

  • this is AWESOME! I have a rabbit and i want to eventually get another once its warmer and my rabbit isnt as fiesty anymore, but I was gonna make one of those rabbit condos but I think this is MUCH MUCH MUCH better so im REALLLY looking forward to building something like this instead! my dad said no to the other one because its an outdoor rabbit and the cage wasnt appropriate and he didnt want it on the porch but this is AWESOME!

oh do you know how to calm down my rabbit so hes not as fiesty lol

  • I really hope you do your rabbit the favor of getting him out of the small cage. You should get him a friend to bond with too:) My rabbits are very friendly now, but it's taken a year of affection and care taking to get the two that were the most afraid to warm up to me. It takes patience and love with some rabbits, and others just come by it quickly.

  • yeah, I usually also let him out onto my back screened porch to run around and leave him food and he just gets to do whatever he wants on it! and ok that makes me feel confident! some people said its not recommended to get another one because theyll attack each other but I dont think its always that way if they know they are safe and loved :) but yes! im showing my dad the house now and I think hell approve becuse he likes these kind! oh also im not sure but should I get my rabbits(s) neutered?

  • I love that you love your bunny so much! It's good for their health and behavior to have them neutered or spayed. All five of my rabbits behaved incredibly better after they were "fixed." Your bunny will bond with you much better after that, and the list of other positive changes is long!! Don't even think of getting a companion for him/her until both are fixed.

  • yeah ok :) thanks! and yeah I do love him! I love animals over all from horses (esp) to rabbits so its no wonder why I like him to be happy :)

  • The first three bunnies I have came as a group, so they already got along well. I rescued a 4th and the others wouldn't accept him, but he was lonely. So I took him to a local breeder and introduced him in a small running pen to several young rabbits and I chose a companion for him based on how well they got along in the pen. It worked out perfectly.

  • oh so did he get another outdoor house? also im going to message you about this because i really am interested in building something similar to this!

  • My rabbits come in the house for the night during the winter. The three sleep in the garage, and the two sleep in the laundry room. So I have the yard fenced off so the two clans can't hurt one another. The two smaller newer rabbits get the hutch during the day because the other three don't use it. They are too busy playing in the yard. During the summer the rabbits all come in during the day and stay out at night.

  • I have one rabbit that I got the day after memorial day from a pet store and he has a really small cage so I was THINKING about getting the stuff to make thos erabbit condos but then agaain, hes an outdoor rabbit.. but I saw this so I think this is going to be my new idea for my dad to build because I really like it better than a condo thing and its warmer too! plus its a lot of space!

oh ps do you have any tips to make rabbits nicer and not so fiesty? xD

  • I'm sorry but you're crazy! This is way to awesome! I'd love to build this!! Great job! I'm glad to see somebody actually caring for their pets properly!

  • Thanks!!! I love my pets so much.

  • can you help me my rabbit wont stop digging it has a massive garden and he still diggs plz help

  • That's sad, but rabbits dig for food even if they don't need to dig for food. It's just a rabbit way of life. Is your rabbit digging at the fence to get our or just digging everywhere? Unfortunately I have no idea of any way to prevent a rabbit from digging. I have very nice flower beds, and they don't look as nice because of the rabbits but the plants always grow back in the spring, and it's worth it to have them.

  • can you help my rabbit wont stop digging i have a massive garden but he still diggs and if he dosent stop my mum said she will get rid of him

  • Do you mind if i show this video to some mad bunny lovers? They'd love to see how kind you are too your bunnies! ??

  • No of course I don't mind. Spread the love!!!

  • I am soooo happy for your bunnies! They have sooo mcuh room! =) You are great! Well Done!!! 5 Stars! xx

  • Thank you. And as of the past couple of months they have been coming in to sleep in the garage at night... by choice. Now that it's getting cooler they scratch on the door at times or just wait by the door a little after dark. I open it and they make a run for the garage. It's so cute.

  • Yeah they are the first few vids on my channel.

theres one called catching Miley and there are a few more i will be uploading more soon because they have changed alot since then Lol :)

    xxx

  • Its soo true you have some of the best bunnys ever ( Mine are cute too :) )

  • Do you have any videos of them up?

  • You have the best rabbits in the best hutch in thebest garden ever !!

Ilove the flopy ears one Awwh their all so cute .
