Know what? I'm a 2nd generation Finn in Canada. I speak a sort of Finnish Canadian mixture with a pohjonmaa accent dialect. Finnish is one of the most difficult languages to learn period, because of the million "tenses" in grammar.

I can barely understand "proper" Finnish, as odd as that may sound. besides I prefer the richness of any of the multiple Finnish dialects anyaway....

It has been proven that Finnish is the second most dificult language to learn next to Arabic languages. So unless your Finnish yourself it's nearly impossible to learn this language fluently. Who are you trying to fool! And the fact that you don't want to translate will prove for most of us that what your saying is not true. And we don't want your translation because it's translated on other websites.

there are so many "proven" things... it`s also been "proven" that chinese and japanese are the most difficult languages. it`s often a subjective matter which langauge you find difficult or easy to learn and there`s always stuff that`s being "proven" so that in the end you don`t know which "proof"`s the right one...

Since I live in Norway, things like soap and stuff like that are written in both Norwegian, Swedish, uhm.. Denmark-language (XD) and Finnish. Finnish is the most fucked-up shit I've ever seen !!

I´ve been to Sweden MAY times. I love Sweden, though I´m a finn, lol. I speak swedish nearly every day at work, but my swedish isn´t perferct, sigh.

I work in a international company and we have swedish customers and partners etc. Also in Finland, there is about 5% population who speak swedish as their mother tongue. Mostly in the western coast and south.

This might sound crazy but I am having an easier time learning Finnish then I did learning Spanish. I always wanted to learn Finnish since most of the older people in my family speak it. The internet has some great audio cd's to order. Listening to things like this interview help as well.
