  • please hand me a knife to slit my wrists along to this music

  • @TheARMAProductions Yes, it all depends. The US always tries to throw around the term "fifth generation" without any real explanations as to what it really is.

The only major advantage that the F-35 will truly have over other planes is it's use in the Marine Corps. It will still be a great plane (not as good as the hype that is being created) and with it being used by the Navy and Marines, there will be stealth aircraft on 22 ships. Something other planes may never achieve.

  • @TheARMAProductions The F-35 is a multi-role fighter. It has good agility but it just isn't as maneuverable as the F-22 (which is hard to beat).

As for the weapon load, it can carry 18,000 pounds of ordinance when using the outside pylons and internal bomb bay.

As for all this generation talk, who cares. It all varies greatly because there is such a wide range of aircraft out there, the generation an aircraft is in is only a rough estimate of what class it is in.

  • the pak-fa will be better than the f22, i think it goes something like this:

    1. T-50

    2. F-22

    3. SU-37

    4. Mig-35

    5. Eurofighter

The f22 in second place is possibly switch with the SU-37, real life battles haven't been conducted yet. From the ones that have, the F-22 lost 8 out of 10 times to a British Eurofighter in a 'super dogfight'. That's was mainly dogfighting although it also states that the F22 isn't as stealthy as claimed and got locked on from pretty far away...

  • @TheARMAProductions -"the technology is still funded (unlike F-22)"

    Seriously, is your record skipping?

    flightglobal.c om/articles/2011/02/02/352677/usaf-invites-rivals-to-break-lockheeds-grip-on-f-22-upgrade.html

(Copy all the links I gave you so far and paste them in notepad, there will be extra "hidden" hyphens in there. Dunno how those got there, but that's what's fucking up the browsers.)

Point being, THE F-22 IS ____NOT____ "CANX"

  • @TheARMAProductions -"No...USA will finish rolling off thw F-22's"

You REALLY need a reality check:

    flightglobal.c om/articles/2011/02/02/352677/usaf-invites-rivals-to-break-lockheeds-grip-on-f-22-upgrade.html

    guardian.c o.u k/uk/2011/jan/10/armed-forces-face-1bn-cuts

(You may have to retype these links; seems there are "hidden" chars being inserted at some point, fucking up the browser's URL parsing.)

  • @TheARMAProductions -"Also...we are devloping a Naval version of the EF"

Yeah, good luck with that. Can't wait to see how they're going to fit a beefed-up nose gear into that intake cowling. And can you imagine being a "shooter" working around the nose gear, just INCHES from that intake?? Also, the extra frame strengthening needed for CATOBAR will sap a lot of the EF's performance.

  • -"You call us fanboys whilst trying to big up a jet (F-35) that isn't even in service?"

It that any worse than denigrating it?

-"When the F-35 has actually supercruised, or broken mach 1.3, or shown it's agility...then you can make these claims my friend."

Take your own advise and refrain from making claims that it CAN'T do any of those things.

  • -"All they ant to believe is that VLO is the only solution"

Then why Taranis? Why are many of the EU partaking in the JSF buy? Why the T-50/PAK-FA? Why the J-20?

  • @TheARMAProductions -"the USAF pulled out of the F-22 as they don't wanna throw more money at the F-22"

    flightglobal.c om/articles/2011/02/02/352677/usaf-invites-rivals-to-break-lockheeds-grip-on-f-22-upgrade.html

-"No offence to Americans here but so many of them (but not all) are so brainwashed"

No offense, but here's a comment from one of your own:

    f-16.n et/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&p=187070#187070

  • -Conventional missiles like AIM 120..."

Figure the F-22's launch speed and altitude into the equation. A missile launched from over 60k ft. at Mach1.7+ will travel up to 40% farther due to the kinetic boost and coast down.

-"Pirate detects the heat as the jet move thru space"

PIRATE, like all the IRST's, suffers from the same limitations with regards to range vs. FOV, adverse weather and acquiring data for a BVR firing solution (i.e. accurate target ID-ing, heading and speed).

  • @TheARMAProductions -"EF use advanced electronical warfare systems such as active cancellation"

If "AC" is such a godsend, then why are BAE and the Russians spending MILLION$ on airframes with VLO *SHAPING*?

-"It's not vulnerable to adverse weather conditions or scratches on the RAM"

All modern fighters use RAM, and the F-22 has been happily stationed in Alaska (snow/cold), Nevada (desert) and Guam (rain).

  • -"F-22 & all funds have funds canx"

    ??

F-22's production is ongoing until the 187th rolls off the line. Funding WILL continue on for upgrades and upkeep.

Tiffy's procurement number has also been slashed over the years, and the RAF will shelve 50 T1's by 2015. Seems to me the Tiffy is even more "canx."

  • -"F-22 carries it's weapons internally meaning it cannot carry RAM jet missiles such as METEOR"

It could most definitely carry four of them on the outer wing pylons. But why would it? The 120D will have a range at par with the Meteor.

-"this cannot compare to RAM jet propulsion"

You'd better hope those RAM motors are reliable. Lots more failure modes involved than a simple fireworks motor.

It also remains to be seen if these missiles will be widely adopted, given their unit cost vs.AMRAAM.

  • @TheARMAProductions -"The term 'genration' was just coinded by LHM"

Generational classification of fighters has been around since the Korean War.

    -"F-35 = no supercruise"

Per LM's definiton, no. Per EF fanboys' definition (Mach 1+ dry) then YES.

    -"slow"

Mach 1.6 with internal loadout. You call that slow?

    -"poor weapon loadout"

With external stores it'll be just as useful as your Tiffy and other gen. 4/4.5's.

    -"poor agility"

The "A" model will be at least as agile as a clean F-16.

  • @TheARMAProductions I know right? The F-22 was also strangely named that, yet it only has benefits of stealth(F-117 also had it) and fancy new ammunition(which doesnt affect its generation at all!), its like. The 6th generation jets have more definition than the 5th, where 6th gen is unmanned fighter aircraft. Plus the amount of pain you can get in your wallet just to maintain an F-22! Russians were confused with that babble on fighter generation thing, they even had one which is gen 4.5!

  • @999cheetos999 -"it only has benefits of stealth"

And hi-Mach supercruise, AN/ALR-94, LPI AESA, super agility/maneuverability.

    -"(F-117 also had it)"

The F-117 was strictly AtG, had NO radar and was subsonic.

  • -"6th gen is unmanned fighter aircraft"

Flesh-and-blood pilots will be in the 'pits for many more fighter generations to come. The days of "Skynet" are still a LONG ways off.

"Plus the amount of pain you can get in your wallet just to maintain an F-22!"

...is no more painful or expensive than what's done on other fighters, given the return in performance.

  • i disagree with you on the last 3 im guessing you meant fighters since you only listed fighters the f-22 is a better fighter jet than the f-35 the f-35 is a multi purpose jet its able to do everything pretty decent but it would generally lose against a f-22 and im sorry to say but the f-22 is first you cant beat it its a gen 5 fighter aircraft its best challengers would generally lose

  • @Plzstandbuy The first word in the title pretty much explains why is this. Its my opinion, and its just how I like these planes, not by technicality or record

  • @999cheetos999 np and well just because it says my doesnt mean its your personel opinion i thought you were listing it not its performance

  • @999cheetos999 On* instead of not
