He can be beaten and even killed by a more powerful enemy (like Doomsday) without Kryptonite being involved. In fact he's not as powerful as he used to be and that's just one of his weaknesses.

@Doomertron There is a new movie just out starring both Supes and Cap, "Superman/Shazam!--The Return of Black Adam." Unlike in "Public Enemies", they are very much a team and do battle against Black Adam. Clark Kent and Superman give counsel and guidance to both Billy Batson and Captain Marvel. The film I really recommend though is "Superman/Batman--Apopcalypse" which features a very sexy Kara/Supergirl and an even sexier Wonder Woman.

Well, most of you know that Captain Marvel wasn't originally a DC creation, they got the rights through a law suit, Captain Marvel before he belonged to DC was outselling Supes, and he was the first super hero to fly, the first super hero to get his own video, and then DC sued them on infringement of superman, and then he lost his appeal because they kind of skewed the character.

I ran the numbers and Supes and Cap are nearly equal; however, Cap's fighting level is twice that of Supes, so Cap would win most of the time. Although, I suppose Cap's weakness is being a kid, so Supes could outsmart him.
Also, Cap's "wisdom" is severely hampered by having Billy (a boy) be the host body.

And Goku does not begin to exhibit physical strength anywhere near Superman's until he's reached SSJ4. I flippin LOVE Goku and DragonBall Z, but he's just not at Superman's level.

@iS4LiFELi Oh, oh, I'm enjoying this now :) It is admirable that Goku worked for his strength whereas Superman just sort of had it, but that doesn't mean his strength is superior. Plus, Superman's body is invulnerable. Goku only starts showing feats of strength near Superman's when he's in SSJ4, and he needs his Ki blasts to destroy larger objects Superman could destroy with his fists. And finally, Superman once blew out a star.

yea superman is my boy but he would loose against marvel because he is a just as strong as superman if not stronger and he has the lightning move which always does superman in. like in kingdom come. I like superman and thinks he is deserving of his popularity over marvel but he's no warrior, just a symbol for hope and a hell of a savior when the world needs one.

Without his overwhelming strength he would lose to alot of people...the reason he lost to marvel in kingdom come is because his weakness to magic not because marvel is stronger. @Doomertron There is a new movie just out starring both Supes and Cap, "Superman/Shazam!--The Return of Black Adam." Unlike in "Public Enemies", they are very much a team and do battle against Black Adam. Clark Kent and Superman give counsel and guidance to both Billy Batson and Captain Marvel. The film I really recommend though is "Superman/Batman--Apopcalypse" which features a very sexy Kara/Supergirl and an even sexier Wonder Woman.

i agree BUT, if dc did that, then all of Supes' crazy fanboys AND girls would have a FIT then start doing all sorts of crazy shit like when dc had supes killed by doomsday. it wont be a pretty sight. dc does need to rest on superman, but him and batman is ALL they got...sad but true. so, since DC's cash cow is superman or batman, without those two, DC would go down the drain and MARVEL would continue ruling the comic book shelves...not sayin thats a bad thing though ;)

Well, most of you know that Captain Marvel wasn't originally a DC creation, they got the rights through a law suit, Captain Marvel before he belonged to DC was outselling Supes, and he was the first super hero to fly, the first super hero to get his own video, and then DC sued them on infringement of superman, and then he lost his appeal because they kind of skewed the character.

I ran the numbers and Supes and Cap are nearly equal; however, Cap's fighting level is twice that of Supes, so Cap would win most of the time. Although, I suppose Cap's weakness is being a kid, so Supes could outsmart him.
Also, Cap's "wisdom" is severely hampered by having Billy (a boy) be the host body.

@fashizze Yes, Marvel is the one that Lex manipulated, but my point is that in the past decade or so, they had Marvel have a boy'ish mind...so he really doesn't have that wisdom power in full force...thus, Marvel can be easily manipulated.
The authors did this to make Cap more vulnerable...supposedly so they can sell more stories. They literally dumbed down Captain Marvel. Supes was made more vulnerable too, but at least he kept his marbles.

I have to disagree about Cap'n being the only superhero that can match Superman punch for punch because Diana can hold her own against him. I read that, but I still don't agree. I still think that Supes and Cap'n are equal in speed. No one in DC is as fast as The Flash.

Remember supes almost never uses his full strength against marvel but wins.
Supes can kill almost any hero when he goes all out. Wonderwoman is the only one I think that could give Supes one hell of a fight.
