I think I'm like the only person who hasn't played this game before, when it was released for the very first time I think I was like 13, 14 and wasn't interested much. After I finally took interest (Wrath of the Lich King) everyone was saying it was bad so I never purchased it. It feels like it's progressed so much now (3 expansions) that I would be completely lost if I attempted playing it :(

People would then form groups to attack each other's outpost while waiting in Q. With instant Qs everyone just became lazy and sat their ass in main cities all day. Wow just isn't as active as it used to be..

Back then you had to be in a group if you wanted to survive. Like how in Warcraft 2-3 you could join 2 or more units together and fight large groups of monsters..

World of warcraft was being worked on ever scence 1999 but the announced it in 2001. heres a timeline. 1999 - 2001 = pre alpha dev only client (almost nothing works decently.) 2001 - mid 2003 = alpha (some stuff worked ok. but NOTHING was bugless. level cap was about 40.) 2003 - early 2004 = beta. (most things are working decently and will be perfected soon. this is usally the phase where you can get to max level.) (*** I HAVE NO IDEA REALLY THESE ARE PURELY GUESSES ***)
Most people say they miss old wow so much and they wished it was still like that, i didn't play wow but i used to watch my friends play it, and all i have to say, is that u may THINK u miss it, but if u went back to it now, u would be saying, wow... i must of been retarded to think that this shit was fun back in the day, I recently went back to a game that i was saying the EXACT same shit about, and i uninstalled it within 15 mins of playing it.

Arenas destroyed world PvP in WoW. Forming a 30 man raid to attack Hillsbrad Foothills is impossible now. I use to remember the days of entering South Shore and Tarren Mill and seeing 30 people from the opposing faction razing it.

@azaing Totally agree with you.. i was horde and had alot of those types.. now i joined ally and its even worse! u only find like 20% ppl that are what horde are 80% of
@azaing just to get like 1 item of blue gear. Yeah I'll admit it's a bit too easy to get blue gear now adays, but I'd personally rather it was easier than harder. Good epics are still fairly difficult to obtain, it's not like you can get the absolute best gear by doing nothing. I also think the fact you have to run heroics all the time to get badges is a big grind in itself, but back in the old days it was 100x the grind it is nowadays. But everyone has their own opinions.
@azaing Well it's would you rather have a life or not, I'd rather have one and you not. It was too much of a boring grind in the earlier days. I think if WoW went back to the old days you'd quickly wish you didn't have to travel to every instance, have to find 40 people for your raid, have to farm instances 20 times a day, have to grind the same primal essense to get gold. What is the fun about spending 20 days farming shit instances like, strah or solomance and then maybe get the gear to try some of the first 20 man raids. aion is much more of a challenge to level, ill admit.. but wow is just more fun. more options as far as leveling to cap, while aion is just a grindfest. quests help, but when it gets down to it is just a monster grind
Oh god, the Original WoW Theme... I had forgotten how awesome it was. It just gave a better epic feeling. I always loved it back in the day - got me pumped to play on my dwarf. Is there a way to get back the old theme and background when starting WoW?

For like 5.5-6 years now ( can be more, or less ) But almost from the start...
I dont realy liked it anymore, Noobs Used to keep like stuck at lvl 40-45 they didnt like it and left the game, Now they make it to end level, ruin your pugs, raids, Hc;s What ever. anyway, Hope you get my point :)

@azaing Totally agree with you.. i was horde and had alot of those types.. now i joined ally and its even worse! u only find like 20% ppl that are what horde are 80% of

@azaing just to get like 1 item of blue gear. Yeah I'll admit it's a bit too easy to get blue gear now adays, but I'd personally rather it was easier than harder. Good epics are still fairly difficult to obtain, it's not like you can get the absolute best gear by doing nothing. I also think the fact you have to run heroics all the time to get badges is a big grind in itself, but back in the old days it was 100x the grind it is nowadays. But everyone has their own opinions.

@azaing Well it's would you rather have a life or not, I'd rather have one and you not. It was too much of a boring grind in the earlier days. I think if WoW went back to the old days you'd quickly wish you didn't have to travel to every instance, have to find 40 people for your raid, have to farm instances 20 times a day, have to grind the same primal essense to get gold. AND WHATEVER THE FUCK ELSE! I dno, I just don't think yee would.

@waterhot80 I couldn't agree more with you. And dont forget the gold farming or mount and spells... It was for the ppl back then fun because they didnt know better, but now it's so much better. Now if u want to be a pugraider, u dont have to farm for days after all and hardcore raiding still is hard and takes alot of time and skill

@azaing Dude I've played vanilla wow. And it was gay compered to how it is now... What is the fun about spending 20 days farming shit instances like, strah or solomance and then maybe get the gear to try some of the first 20 man raids. What is the fun about farming 20 hours for gold and then u can buy a new spell... It was gay back then. Now it's better, the emblems for hc's are for people who are just 80 and if you want to raid hardcore it still takes alot of time and fun

aion is much more of a challenge to level, ill admit.. but wow is just more fun. more options as far as leveling to cap, while aion is just a grindfest. quests help, but when it gets down to it is just a monster grind

Oh god, the Original WoW Theme... I had forgotten how awesome it was. It just gave a better epic feeling. I always loved it back in the day - got me pumped to play on my dwarf. Is there a way to get back the old theme and background when starting WoW?

@victimofmetal hah, I was smart, got to level 30 in aubirdine if not a bit farther into the night elf area and then to gnomergon and stuff then quite the game, looks like I made the right choice sense all a online game can do from the first it is released is go down hill these days :( bet you didn't even know there was a matrix online and it was canacled and now has a half working emulator (private server)

@Arthas93 actually you can compare the betas dumbfuck. By comparing the beta's you can get a sense of how much better aion is at the start and think of how it will progress through the years as wow did.

I really do wish the game looked like this. The models look more realistic, the game looks a lot more.. Interesting. Nostalgia was better yesterday, but this yesteryear WoW really does look better.
