  • Excellent tute, makes it so easy to pick up for a beginner like me

  • Having never played before this is pretty cool, 5 days in and while slow and disjointed, my hugs and kisses, actually recognised the song when played to her. As said earlier an excellent tute video but being a new gumby i am still struggling with picking out the right strings on the g chord intro can someone please help with what is probably obvious for most people.

  • You can always just leave that part out if you like and just strum instead but you are basically just picking the top 3 strings and then the bottom 3 strings as you hold the chord shape.

  • @educationalmaterials

Nice lesson, and it has been very helpful but the question on which strings are played is valid for me. I substituted the chords but want to improve further by playing the notes.

    Is it 5 4 3 2 3 4? etc

  • Concise and understandable, excellent work.

  • Thanks, appreciated!!!

  • Great instructional video mate, not really a "hunners" fan(they stopped making music after 1979, didn't they?) but I bought Seymours book, 13 ton theory and it is really fascinating, so I thought I'd better catch up on the music, better yet, play some myself, thanks to you.

    A great big Goodonya

  • Thanks for the comment

  • James

I am a tragic hunters fan (still) and have finally picked up the guitar at 35. You have no idea how great it feels to be able to play this epic ballad after such a short time thanks to your tutorial. Your expertise, time and effort in putting this together is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks again...

  • Wow what an awesome comment, thank you very much I really appreciate it!!!!

  • James I cannot even begin to explain to you how much I appreciate you posting this video. I took up the guitar 6 months ago and am really happy with my progress, wish I took it up a long time ago. One of the main reasons I took up the guitar is I wanted to learn this song for my partner and guess what you taught me in a heartbeat. She is going to love it, you're a legend mate. Best wishes from Wollongong NSW. Cant wait to see you post more lessons.

    Pete

  • Happy to help out and glad that you like my lesson, and it's even better that you are going to play it for your partner, good stuff. If you want to stay up to date with my lessons then you should hit the yellow subscribe button.

  • do u have an electric guitar? if so u should do hunters and collectors-do you see what i see

  • Yeah I do (it's just behind me over my left shoulder in the video) but we only perform with acoustic guitars (being an acoustic duo and all). I have never looked at playing that song but I'll have a listen and see if it's useful to us.

  • hey - excellent video.. where can i learn how to actually sing this with what you've taught me??? bljdad is my accout on youtube ...let me know man... good stuff!!

  • Playing/Teaching guitar is my speciality, singing not so much. I usually only manage backup vocals and that is after about 10 months of vocals lessons. My advice go and find a good vocal teacher.
