Wow, that was a beaut. And I agree with those down on the trash talk. I'm proud for our guys too, but Canada is a good team, and fought well. We should respect them. I think this is just the beginning of big things from them. Hopefully we can keep one step ahead of both them and our friends south of the border, but we shall have to see...
First of all, watch the comments about the Canadians. They were a good team and they're knocking on the door at all levels to become a consistent Concacaf force. However, the Canadians should settle down with their comments. You can't start your own league but you do little but badmouth the US. Yet when it's convenient to you, you feign shared interests. At the end of the day, it was a great goal. And the US has its own league. Start you own, Canada.
@Aggromerchant I agree. I'm thrilled for our boys did great, but there's no need for folks to be bad winners. Those are the breaks of the game. I could have gone the other way, and then I wouldn't want to hear a bunch of crowing. As for Canada, well, MLS is growing there too, by leaps and bounds. But here's a weird thought (and I'm not knocking anyone, just noticed it): When was the last CONCACAF final match (at any level) with no Spanish being spoken on the field?
That's only because Mexico are already in as host. I'm not sold on the Canada thing, though. The responsbility of the USSF is to promote the interests of the game HERE. Allowing MLS expansion into Canada limits future expansion in the US. I don't like binational leagues; they're a perversion and an invitation for controversy. I'm all for Canadian improvement, but Canada can do its own work. They have the money and the cities. Our teams should only play in intl cups.
@Aggromerchant Everybody badmouths the us cuz you guys badmouth the WORLD. the league is called MLS major league scocer...not united states soccer league....it isn't YOUR league, there are canadian teams in the league to. We clearly dont have the money or the interest to have our own league. if you want to talk like that, then get outa the nhl lol
You can laugh at Canada all you want...but it made it to the Final, from a country that has 35 million people. This in U-17 so that players are young. Keep laughing at the older US national team that usually plays in a pathetic way whenever they play out of North America. US will still have a chance as long as Landon Donovan and Maurice Edu are still playing for the US.
@soccerscoutharvardun we won three to zero not 1-0. and really a lucky goal?? i cant believe you said that that goal was pure skill it takes talent to strike like that. also how many people you have has nothing to do with your skill look at china they suck and they have like almost half the worlds population
The US men national team desperately needs that

Except it ended 3-0; not 1-0. Fitness is a product of training, not a talent pool.

@denver10 did you forget that this is the concacaf? 35 million people is a big population for the concacaf save the united states and mexico.
