  • press 7 for why so serious?

  • one of the 3 men will always have the heart to kill the others

  • Jokers the fucking man!

  • My father was a drinker.. And Athene!? Lol wut?!

  • @divineblinker a fiend - drug addict

  • @divineblinker hahaha oh yeah a athene, yeah

  • Joker is a joke. One deadly one.

  • 4 peple are too serious and need smile on their faces.,.....

  • if only mark hamill voice-acted this scene for the fans

  • @jaxblade07

It was always my understanding that he was stabbed in the back of the throat, which means death would be pretty instantaneous.

  • "annnnnnndd.....why so serious?"

  • Johnny Depp should play the next joker

  • Micheal jackson should have played joker

  • The classic Trojan Horse maneuver. :D

  • as much as I love this scene I alway wonder should that really have killed him automatically its not like he slit his throat. I understand dramatic effect but like if he really did that shouldnt gamble just be on the floor in tremendous pain. thats the only I have to see other than Heath Ledger was truly perfectly cast as the clown prince of crime

  • @jaxblade07

Out of shock, maybe. It makes sense.

  • @jaxblade07 He snapped his neck. Gambol wasn't tense because he wasn't expecting anything to happen, and as such it was simple to move his neck to break it.

  • The US got rid of bin Laden's body just for this reason.

  • @rkkim Because a psychotic, scarred clown broke into their leaders' home and told him how he got his scars, then proceeded to murder him?

  • wanna know how i got these scars .... well my doctor was jack nicholsen and he wasnt verry happy i got the part and he didnt so taking his scalpel says lets give you a big joker smile to laugh about

    :D

  • idk y but this puts a smile on my face

  • I guess the Joker took a Gambol with this trick.

  • Would have been interesting to see Mark Hamill's Joker talking about his father:

'My father...was a Sith Lord...and a fiend. One night, he goes off Sithier than usual. Mommy gets Obi-Wan Kenobi to defend herself. He doesn't like that. Not.One.Bit. So...me watching...he takes the Force to her, laughing while he does it...'

"You remind me of my father. I HATED my father! He cut my hand off.'

Great scene and great performance, thanks for uploading!

  • i wanna talk like that lol

  • WHY BLACK DYNAMITE?!?!?! WHY?!?!?!

  • Whats sad is, usually in psychopaths they had shit like this in their childhood,

i never saw the dark night but i've seen scenes with the joker in it and hes awesome XD, im not like a fangirl but id do him lol

  • I love the joker. I saw guys dressed up as batman for halloween, i shouted "jokers better!" and most of them said "i know" or "yeah." XD it was awesome.

  • Man, just the way he says "why so serious" is pretty scary.

  • This is more captivating than Lecter's "Clarice."

  • Jokers dad = Joe Jackson

  • @stephanorion i loled so hard when i saw this

  • Notice how he starts close his eyes more when telling his scar stories! This is because he is either re-living the horror or trying to peice together what actualy happened considering he may suffer from post dramatic stress disorder

  • @JDreamProductions Or he's just making shit up throughout.

  • @JDreamProductions Great points! Or he may be inventing the story on the spot. Hard to tell, which makes it all the more interesting. Great job, Heath!

  • @JDreamProductions I think his eyes being closed a bit simply suggests hes making this stuff up right on the spot....the movie itself boosts this further as the story progresses by those other scars-talks.

  • Considering he gives two completely different scar stories and would have also probably given another different one to Batman near the end, I say he isn't re-living anything or suffering from any kind of PTSD. From what I remember, Nolan never intended for the Joker to have a real origin story. He's more of an entity; an embodiment of chaos and disorder. Unlike everyone else, he is a constant. Nothing will change him. Much like how Batman is an entity, of a different kind.

  • @OmegaOwA exactly

  • @JDreamProductions think you overanalyse it too much. he had 2 different scar stories in the movie, and is about to tell a third one to batman

just part of his twisted sense of humor i guess

  • @JDreamProductions Or he's lying. You made a good point, but keep in mind that he told two different stories in the movie. His eye movements could simply be a sign that he was making it up.

  • @JDreamProductions

    That is not a disorder.

  • THIS was amazing.. the best video on youtube.. btter than i on movie

  • How do you know that Johnny Depp can't top Heaths performance, if he hasn't tried the role yet., just because Heath made the joker role epic. Doesn't mean others can top it too. Never underestimate other actors. thank you.

  • @realdealx

    NEVER UNDERESTIMATE MY JOHNNY.

  • How does cutting his mouth kill him?

  • @byron123fuyu

    It didn't kill him. Lol.

  • @byron123fuyu honestly i dont think he does cut his mouth i think he takes the blade out and slits his throat but...thats just me :p lol

  • I just noticed that two nights ago when I watched it again. He does kill Gambols two thugs before he gets to Gambol. I think the Joker killed about 33 people altogether. I have the body count somewhere...

Heath Ledger's screen time was 33:10. I am deadly serious.

  • Well he could have been stabbed anywhere as you didn't see where he actualy was stabbed...

  • how did the joke survive his dad cutting his mouth but when he did it to the other guy he dies?

  • @jack2016 He probably did it a lot deeper and went farther up the dude's face than his dad cut him.

  • Suck It Jack Nicholson

  • Thanks to some damn scars on his face, thousands have to die. Death is that simple.

  • revenge of the clown joker kills spawn haha

  • @ambiti0nzridah lol i was going say that xD

  • So we're gonna have try outs. Make it fast you negros!

  • So? The Joker made that last two black guys kill each other? The winner has to live and follow the joker?

  • its 3 actually

  • @mrking0205 all he did was cut his cheek why would he drop dead

  • @hallnoats4ever then why did he fall down like a toy? did he faint? did he pretend? did he cry? did he get a heart attack?

  • @mrking0205 oh, it was in the script, i get it now

  • @hallnoats4ever It's not sure how he kills him, but it is believed that he does the same thing that was done to him. The Joker however survives and that is why he is such a psychopath, tells stories about the origin of how he got the scars, yet he himself has no clue about what is real or what is not. Off screen he probably did something worse to him, but that is led to audience interpretation.

  • @bathorycomplex what the fuck u think u r some kind of expert? Get a life u nerd!!!

  • @hallnoats4ever I AM! I have The Killing Joke, The Long Hallowen, and Batman: The Dark Knight. WTF do you have???? xD

  • @bathorycomplex u strike me as a 15 year old living w.mommy

  • @hallnoats4ever Actually I'm 32 and I live in a condo. GG though. ;b

  • @bathorycomplex let me guess u r over weight, collect comic books, play video, games, and watch star trak

  • @hallnoats4ever Wow, such cliches. I have never cared for Star Trek, I only play certain video games, and I could never stand to see myself over weight. I do collect comics though; mostly graphic novels.

  • @bathorycomplex when i think of you, i think of the comic book guy from the Simsons

  • @hallnoats4ever I'll take that as a compliment, thank you, but I am not a guy, Pumpkin. ;)

  • @hallnoats4ever Just a question, silly really but what 15 year old doesn't live with their mommy hmmm?

  • @hallnoats4ever You're a douche

  • 0:12 arrogant.

  • 1:32 how did black guy died??

  • he fainted

  • He might got a heart attack because the background music suddenly raised high and even the other black guy scared of that music. (he shocked) on 1:32

  • let put a smile on that face

  • isnt that the guy from blood n bone?

  • I dont know ANY one in the world who can play the joker SO PERFECT! Heath Ledger is simply THE BEST! all the others should look up to him!

  • @peticoatgoth i do he is my hero

  • @peticoatgoth no kidding

  • @peticoatgoth Yeah, to bad he's dead.

  • @peticoatgoth Mark Hamill. At least the voice.

  • he played the joker so good i love him best actor ever

  • they said it was fake at voyspace

  • the rising siren-type music in the background just makes this scene perfect

  • i read on this website that he didnt like talking about his scars and when somebody asked him about it, he would tell a lie. so eventually he forgot how he got them. u can tell in the beginning of his story,he's thinking of what to say

  • i think this story is the real one

i think he made his own scars to show his wife that he don't care about the scars because she had a scar of an accdent

at the end when the joker asks the batman ''do you want to know i got these scars'' i wish he taled him another story

  • @blackmarvel94941 He never tells the truth about his scars. No one knows where they came from. This is stated in all three comic books about the Joker. The Killing Joker, Long Halloween, and Dark Knight.

  • sure you will. Now go back to nap time, i'm sure your parents are starting to get worried.

  • "Aggressive Expansion" He sounds like he's selling a Time Chair or something lol Hes Amazing!!!! His Thoughts are Twisted yet sound Sane at the same time!

  • you wanna know how i got this scars? my Father was a drinker and a fiend and one night he goes off crazier than usual. mommy gets the kitchen knife to defend herself,he doesn't like that...NOT ONE BIT so me watching he takes the knife to her laughing while he does it he turns to me and he says WHY SO SERIOUS? he comes at me with the knife WHY SO SERIOUSSS??!! sticks the blade in my mouth LETS PUT A SMILE ON THAT FACE and ........... why so serious? totally epic Heath The Greatest Joker

  • "Make it fast..."

  • perfect last line

  • i think it's the first version.. the joker says somewhere in the movie : " you remind me of my father...i HATED my father"

  • I keep hearing that red hood is the jokers origin and some other say its not... have any questions? REPLY BACK! P.S yes you can call me a nerd...

  • well in batman the killing joke there is a flashback of joker dressed up as the red hood and when he jumps into some chemicaled water he gets out and says to himself why is my skin burning so he takes off the red helmat and looks into a puddle of water and his skin, hair, and lips are permanently colored like a clown

  • @CrazyJesterEX Nope. It's nottttt. ;) Wanna know how I got these O scars???

  • one of the best scene in the movie

can't beleve they where gonna take it out

    i would've hated it

    peace out

    chubkuriboh:-)

  • lol tryouts

  • it's funny how, back in 2005, before ledger was even casted, whenever anyone suggested the idea of joker having a chelsea grin and carving smiles into people's faces, people would reject the idea and hate it, and the movie actually used the idea anyway and pulled it off so well :D

  • Well it's also a pretty good guess to say that both of them are not true. I believe the filmmakers took the concept from the comics that the Joker's past isn't totally clear...and that the Joker himself doesn't remember...and that when it comes to remembering his past he likes it to be "multiple choice". That's just my opinion though.

  • im no fucking cock sucking emo trash but i can relate to the jokers tendency to either do or to want slice the shit out of someone who fucks with me

  • I love this, Cause Heath makes Joker Real. Love this movie!

  • "LET'S PUT A SMILE ON THAT FACE!" I love the Joker.

  • o.d of sleeping pills

  • y did Heath had 2 die,

  • he died of an overdouse of drugs :(

  • This scene made me real shit my pants a bit when he hold the knife at the mouth, why? i dont know.

  • you wanna see this video translated? Go to my youtube channel to see it translated!

  • what does he say? a drink and a femme? or theme?

  • fiend i think

  • it was both a drinker and a fiend.

  • i really dont know how any1 wud cud play the joker afa this performance.. it is fantastic. i just love to watch the joker in this film. absolutely fantastic.. why so serious?? so good

  • @apocalize I think Johnny Depp could play the role quite good. But he would never, ever be as outstanding as Heath Ledger was. Heath Ledger made that role legendary and it is what it is.

  • the joker actually scares the shit outta me

  • yeah but Heath Ledger is an incredible actor, it makes you think like The Joker's a real guy

  • omg if joker thinks his dad was fiends then he must be scary as shit

  • His smile always reminds me of the Black Dahlia. X(

  • whats the black dahlia

  • as i remember a women , she was killed and her mouth was cut from ear to ear, i think there is a movie about her

  • I remeber that story when a few years back..But, It might have only been slightly about her, not fully.

  • He probably cut downward in an angle. From the right lip down to his jaw. KILLER artery right there. X/ OUCH

  • WHY SO SERIOUS!

  • OMG. I just noticed that joker kills 2 other people in this scene(other than the guys with the jagged pool que). At 0:26 watch joker's hands because he stabs the two bodygaurds in the stomach with a knife in each hand right before he jumps at Gambol.

  • whoa! i never realized that!

  • just to pull himself up.

  • @moviebuff138 holy fack dude i didn't even notice til i read your comment and you've posted over a year ago lmao...thats fucked up b/c i've watched the movie like 5 times and just get right to the chilling scar scene

  • @moviebuff138 Wow?

  • this aint the first scene with the joker in it

  • It was the first scar story.

  • sounds a little off . love ya though. God Bless

  • i totally agree with codizzle8cheah:)

  • Heath Ledger set a new standard for movie supervillains and acting. Marvel superhero movies like Spider Man are gonna have a very hard time coming up with an actor/villain equal to Heath Ledger's Joker (although Robert Knepper [T Bag from Prison Break] as Carnage was an interesting suggestion here in YouTube).

  • I LOVE THIS PART :D

  • did he kill the guy? or is he just unconscious.

  • kill him

  • but no blood came out and the fact that you can't kill a guy just by sliding a knife across the face...

  • smbz21,

it is in the script that Joker kills Gambol.

And, if done properly, you actually CAN kill somebody by slicing their cheeks open in a Chelsea Grin.

  • When is the last time YOU killed someone by slicing their cheeks?

  • well a chesea smile can be lethal if cut deep enough and you extend the cut to the ears, just where some important arteries are but it wouls take some time too kill a guy by bleeding.

  • I think he pushed the knife into his mouth right to his throat. The Joker killed Spawn.

  • it's called a chelsea smile, you cut froma the mouth to the back of the head (:

  • I know but a chelsea smile won't kill you so quickly. That's why i think he just went for the throat.

  • @DJxrx It's a Glasgow Smile.

  • Can anyone upload this scene in HD?

  • Joker pwns

  • what is a try out? o.o'

  • he means between Gamble's three men; that's why he broke the pool cue. they need to fight for the only position.

    pretty badass :P

  • amm yeah i got it was something about a bet and stuff but what's, concretly, a try-out?

  • the only one that lives gets to join the team. the pool sticks the weapon

  • the jokers damn HOT

  • i also agree that the joker is strangely attractive. its the power and charisma he exudes :P

  • He doesn't look hot but is quite suave!

  • he comes to me with the knife¿why so serious??????.

  • TRYOUTS!!

  • -Why so serious?

    -Because i'm Batman

  • what is implied when he talks about "tryouts" then leaves the sharp stick?

  • the survivor of the three hostages gets to work

for the joker. the joker wants the best.

  • Heath Ledger was amazing in this movie, he is the best <3

  • joker is sexy!

    why so serious?

  • I think he should win an academy award for the sexiest villain in cinematic history :D you have great taste!

  • lol the sexiest villain in cenematic history award...

  • Heath Ledger's best scene in the entire film.

  • what happens to those two guys at the pool table in the beginning? does he kill them somehow?

  • yeah, thats what happens

  • look real close at 0:27 he stabs them both in the stomach and uses the knives as leverage to sit up and go for gambel.

  • o ya i never noticed that

  • You're right I never noticed that before.

  • HOW ABOUT ALIVE?!?!?!

  • in the comic "the killing joke" he says:

"If i'm going to have a past, i prefer it to be multiple choice"

So, it's posible that he may have invented all those stories, because he doesn't remember what happened to him.

But, as the movie differs from the comic in many ways, i really don't know what to think. And that makes this caracter really great because of the uncertainty of his past.

    The Joker rules =D

  • i know that already imdb

  • Video didn't sinc with audio that well hm? Remake it ! =)

  • wow so i'm guessing he slit something in his mouth causing him to bleed to death right?

  • one of the best movies i've watched in my 19 years of life lol

  • LOVE this movie!!!

  • it's funny how he changes his scar story up in the movie lol..wait i'm just curious did he shoot the gamble in the mouth?

  • No, the knife is IN his mouth and if you pull far enough...>:-D He sliced 'em.
