  • Great!

  • in soviet russia Solio charges sun

  • At Dealextreme I think they have chargers that sharges through a mini-USB port, and have a USB outlet, so you can charge whatever you have cables for

  • ....Thats what she said

  • 50? it 170

  • Pretty useless unless you are going to the jungle or something >: /

  • @LuisFelipeGD1978 or are away from a power source

  • @LuisFelipeGD1978 what if the power goes out or your in the woods and need to use power?

  • @nofameatall If you really really really need to use the power at all times and you are ok with the $169,95 price tag I guess this is for you. Since I got electricity 99.8% of the time I don't think this will be on my wish list this Christmas.

  • @Austinm4ever fail

  • arggghhhh the sun my one weekness how did you know!!!!!!! lol na i has a tan :D dead chuffed nice video chris

  • #WIN

  • What kind of solar power panel does a calculator use an why can't we use those for cell phones indoors?

  • it kills the phone battery

  • What if you run out of power at night?

  • @Rhin0Neil

It has a battery pack inside it, it will charge your iphone until that gets drained, when thats out and your phone dies at night, then, your fucked...

  • "its pretty much IN until you wanna pull it out."... thats what she said.

  • heres my review i dont know what the fuck it is

  • @Robredneck8554 its a solar powered charger.

  • i got kicked out of one of his show one time because i spelled something wrong

  • You know it doesn't matter if the glass is clean or not.

  • Just wondering. What if you stuck some REALLY reflective stuff behind the thing? Like maybe a mirror or something... all around it except in front of it where the sun is? I don't know anything about light, but would it help? lol.

  • @DeltaPhi79 no, it would only work if the light is re directed back to the solar panel, so you need to bend them a little

  • Or maybe doing something called "tilt the mirror towards the panel"?

  • exactly :D

  • How do you know its the right voltage for the ipod battery?

  • @roggelmagic every device with usb charging option will support the 5 volt voltage of the usb cable.

  • hey, =D i had one of these, it charges nokia phone (old phones with big battery charge jack port) and any devices with USB 2.0 port~

  • 3:23-3:29 Thats what she said!

  • omg so good.

  • @quinny707 thats what i said to nice

  • @NevaehBeatez haha calm down buddy! :)

  • @quinny707 Hahha I Gotta Say That Was Pretty Funnny :L:L

  • "Kinda difficult to get it in and out, but once it's in, it's pretty much in, till you wanna pull it out."

That remind me of something else, Chris. :P

  • explain.. since I know for a fact it can't be what I'm thinking of atm because it's not hard to get in or out

  • Well, some girls don't want to let you in at first, and when they do let you in, they don't want to let you out anymore (I mean all the way out :P).

  • @KenanVideos Yeah! Australia FTW!!

  • perfect for skiing I should imagine and yes @KenanVideos great in Australia too

  • More like red orange. Anyway, a GREAT invention! Charging shit for free? One step closer to the goals of the Venus project!

  • @lockergnome90087

I don't think it's bad, But its really shouldn't be called red.

  • definetly,

  • Ohhh great in Australia.

  • rkn

  • Comment removed

  • .......hah.....r right........-_-

  • what is a geeks worst fear?i laughed XD

  • Juice, Tips, Unit?... Freud would have something to say about this.

  • Sounds like a perfect gift for the name of my channel.

  • Bahhaa

  • That's what she said!! Lol...

  • I'm gonna get that one!

  • so its pretty much a portable battery with usb support with solar pannels... mmm, i'd say something like this would probably be used only in emergencies

  • Love gadgets so this is very cool.

  • why does white people grunt so much Huh Chrissy

  • Great for camping or ataching to ur backPack

  • Which camera did you record this video with?

  • Hay! Mr Gadget when are you going to fit solar panels to your house and where's your EV car?

  • What is wrong with a standard USB cable?

  • You Chris, more jazz hands for 2010 dood!!!

  • This is cool.. Something different for charning your devices. Reminds me of the Powermat tv commercial.

  • If I was on the go, I would carry one of these! Nice demo and review Chris!

  • nice advertisment? making alot of money of youtube!

  • HAHA i dont know what the hell they were smoking

  • i hate how he always says his email and everything after every video

  • shouldnt it work off of most indoor lighting systems too? :s

  • @xsirhc6x Probably not very well. just put it in a window if you're not going outside. I've never owned one but i'm guessing just pop it in a window and it should work if the sun is near that direction,

  • cool

  • ..And you watch his videos why?

  • is it really red... it looks brownish orange?

  • Man

    PRoducts Products Products.

    Which one should i buy?

  • Looks nice. $25 sounds more reasonable. Also not a big fan of the proprietary usb cable. Just like locking phones, way to go on polluting our planet in the name of capitalist competition.

Great video. You do a great job of informing me of all the nice gadgets out there and presenting them as well.

  • I like how compTv did a "review" of this, and gave so little information on it compared to Chris lmao

  • I wonder if I could charge my e cigarettes with that

  • so u got to leave your expensive gadgets in front of the window

  • The go.tagjag link doesn't go to the same one as you have.

  • 3:24 TWSS

  • and you call yourself a geek.

50 bucks? you can buy a 4 watt solar panel for what, 5 bucks? solder that shit up yourself, it's fun, it's what geeks like to do.

seriously though - it is a nice plastic travel case but i dunno about 45 dollars nice. call me cheap but i'd rather make one.

  • make one? how can you make the conector that goes to the iPhone?

  • @igonnagetfsx

Chop off the end from a cable with the correct connector and splice it with the cable from the device. You will need to make sure you have all the wires correctly matched up before you begin soldering.

    Items Needed:

    * Soldering Iron + Solder

    * Digital Multimeter

    * Electrical Tape / and or Hot glue gun

    * Heat shrink tubing

Depending on who small or large the wires are can make it easy or difficult. Either way good luck and have fun.

  • Cable splicing ;3

  • @onlywhenprovoked: then do it and shut the hell up.

  • I have bought one right now... I will say how it works...

  • luks grate!

  • 3:24 "Once it's in, it's pretty much in until you want to pull it out."

I just lmao when I heard you say that! ;p

  • BWAHAHAHAAAA

  • you want that tag jag shuvin up your arse :)

  • Do you work at Best buy ?

  • @BeachBoysGuy1 no he does not

  • I meant no offence. It's just that I used to (unfortuantely) work there with a group of Best buy Geek Squads guys who would get excited about a new cable etc.

    Happy New Year to everyone

  • Who else saw the review for this on the Tiger Direct channel?

  • i like that solar power..

  • The biggest fear isint it to loose internet?

  • we wont ever lose internet because electricity is infinate as electricity will never be lose as its renewable

  • @Zerosk8er32 lose internet access

  • What? Are you serious? You can't be.

  • So what, besides buying the device you still have to buy adaptors? That's lame! But could be usefull.

  • hahaha at 3:20 I was thinking in the gutter.

  • nice stuff

  • saw this a radioshak

  • I bought something like this for 30 bucks and it looks really cool and has a bunch of attachments.

  • You Said Solar Penel LOL

  • does it work for dsi?????????

  • does it have a usb port then definitly yes

  • good vid! happy new year!!

  • happy new year!!

  • Awesome, u seen that backpack which has a kind of this?

  • Chris, the second greatest fear of a Geek besides talking to the opposite sex is to lose your little devices. No devices, that solar power charger is useless.

  • LOL chris could definitely use this considering Seattle has 365 days a year of sun llollol

  • important to note. That is a standard USB to 5v plug. allot of 5v devices will work with that like hubs. this is usually done on devices that would otherwise be powered by a wall block. (not AS standard as a mini USB but none the less...) ALSO heat destroys lithium batteries and everyone knows that solar panels get REALLY hot to work right which will dramatically shorten the lithium batteries it has. based on what I see, this thing is pretty much disposable....

  • "care beaner" was that meant to be a racist comment?

  • @romodrummerjz

    I think he meant Karibiner.

  • Its useful only in the middle of nowhere.

It's very good if you travel alot

  • happy new year

    from germany ;)

  • Do me a favour! TELL THE DAMN GERMANS TO STOP USING THE FIREWORKS ROFL!!! It's really beginning to annoy me now, it's been 2010 for over 25minutes, get over it! BUT THEY WONT STOP WITH THE FIREWORKS :(

  • It would be great for an emergency.

Let's say that you are alone, hurt, and your phone is dead. Just plug it into this puppy and you can call for help (lol call for help, im good).

  • homo do you got a woman?? does she like you for your money or smarts? cuase you aint got nothering else

  • @alfletch93 Learn basic grammar!

  • Red goes faster

  • 3200 devices? sweet.

  • SCAMSCAM

  • according to the beginning of the video, I'm not a geek, sorry :(

  • Now this is something I can use.. Thanks Chris. You are the best.. 5 stars and favored.

  • Oh Chris you said it was $50, I just checked the tagjag link and it took me to Amazon and they have it listed for $85. Might want to update this video to reflect the price they are listing it for.

  • He linked the wrong product but if you scroll down you will find it in the "What Do Customers Ultimately Buy After Viewing This Item?" And yes, it is $49.95 with free shipping.

  • Ah.. Thanks.. :)

  • When he mentions the cables and other hardware being "proprietary" what does he mean?

  • If I am correct it has a cord that is not common.

  • It means that the cables are a privately developed and owned technology.

You can only get it from them directly from them.

You can't find their cables as easily as you would usb cables for printers and audio cables etc. from say your local Walmart/Fry's/Best Buy etc... Hope that helps! (^_^ )

  • heres my suggestion... a usb adapter plug thing

that goes connected to the tip

so you can just use your standard usb cable rather than buying tons of tips

  • Jazz Hands!

  • Awesome :-)

  • 100 views in 3 min. wow

  • 10 cool sub to me

  • great review chris! sounds like the perfect battery backup for any usb u have!
