I think most of you are basing your opinions of Andre the Giant when you had seen him in archived footage *later* in his WWE career (like his matches against Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania III or IV). He was an absolute beast in the ring, and while Big Show is talented Andre would be able to crush him in his prime. Andre was just a freak of nature. Go watch his old videos.

The only hope Big Show would have was if Andre got himself countedout or disqualified. It also depends on what part of Andre's career; in Andre's early years he was very mobile in the ring. Later in his career as his giantism caught up with him, he became less mobile and just used his size to his advantage.

But he was never 8 foot tall. He was 7'5''. He was still grow though and gaining weight. At the time Andre die, I heard he was over 600lbs.

Big Show is used to fighting bigger guys, and always has been much more agile, fast, most likely more powerful, and equally talented a wrestler as Andre. Also Big Show is pretty good at cutting promos, unlike Andre who really made no sense at all.
I think it would have actually been a very boring match, It would have been slow and uneventful.. Their both the same size and have similiar techniques and they probably couldn`t even bodyslam eachother properly.. Big Show against Andre of the 70s would have been fairly even in my view, 80s Andre would have been easy pickings for Big Show but still an entertaining match and 90s Andre could barely move let alone compete with a guy like the Big Show.

They are pretty similar in size (fake billing aside)...but Andre is in some ways more impressive because of his weird proportions due to the gigantism. Ken Patera once said that if Andre had juiced up, the world records in the deadlift and squat would fall. Big Show juices up at times....can't imagine what Andre would look like on heavy roids. 650lbs of muscular Andre??
Andre is a legend purely because of his size. Big Show in his Prime, is not only technically better than Andre, but faster and stronger than Andre. No disrespect to the Giant, but BigShow is arguably the best bigman in history. Andre is 90 percent size 10 percent nostaglia.

Andre had un-natural strength from what I have read about him. He would move pianos without assistance and without a dolly when he couldnt use one in some situations. Looking at Andre you dont see the big bodybuilding look but he was a beast.

Andre was arguably 7 ft 1 at his peak, and wore a size 24 shoe. In his twenties he weighed 450 lbs, had a chest almost 70 inches around, and wrists 11 inches in circumference. His head was absolutely massive.
A normal man's head weighs around 12 lbs, but Andre's head must have been over 30 lbs, or heavier than a Thanksgiving Turkey dinner. He used his massive head for headbutting, -- using his massive Neanderthal skull, his headbutt could have easily killed a man with enough force.

Andre never worked out with weights, he just tossed 250 lb guys around like rag dolls. Andre had much thicker bones and skull, and I believe if he had worked out with weights, and kept his body fat down, Andre would have destroyed Wight like a Gorilla.
His core strength was prehistoric.

They are pretty similar in size (fake billing aside)...but Andre is in some ways more impressive because of his weird proportions due to the gigantism. Ken Patera once said that if Andre had juiced up, the world records in the deadlift and squat would fall. Big Show juices up at times....can't imagine what Andre would look like on heavy roids. 650lbs of muscular Andre??

Andre is a legend purely because of his size. Big Show in his Prime, is not only technically better than Andre, but faster and stronger than Andre. No disrespect to the Giant, but BigShow is arguably the best bigman in history. Andre is 90 percent size 10 percent nostaglia.

We've already been through this, with Andre vs. Big John Studd: the heel would lose, simple as that... unless he cheated. That's the rule: the heel ALWAYS loses in a fair fight.

they are two different wrestlers from different eras. Big Show is more athletic and has more finesse in his moves. Young Andre would be a better fight against the present era Big Show. It would definitely be fight for the ages. But you would need to tell the story to make the fight bigger than the two men.
On power, definitely Andre, but if it became a true wrestling match with a repitore of moves, definitely Big Show hands down.

Both similar size but different physiques Andre always to me looked in really bad shape, undoubtedly ridiculously strong but no definition and pretty fat. Big Show in his prime was far more muscular and athletic, any proof just look at the videos of him pressing Kane a 6.8+ 20 stone+ guy over his head and throwing him like a child. Andre never dispayed such strength in the ring.

Andre had un-natural strength from what I have read about him. He would move pianos without assistance and without a dolly when he couldnt use one in some situations. Looking at Andre you dont see the big bodybuilding look but he was a beast.
