  • This song makes me cry!

  • big deal shes reading the words better than lip synching

  • Absolutely beautiful. I've searched for her music but have only been able to snitch of off youtube and turn them into mp3 files for my ipod.

  • Doesn't matter that she looked at the notes, this is amazing! thank you

  • There's also a different verse in this version of "There is a Time" - it wasn't in the TV

    show or Reunion performances...

  • I can't tell which guy is singing. And I guess the music is recorded.

  • @stadalberts No, the music was being played live.

  • I'd like to be there for the reception.

  • great vid, but when she looks at here notes to remember the song lyrics sorta of ruins it. But still good song and she did a great job

  • if it could be any music I would listen to it would be blue grass and the blues

  • I'm a little shocked that she is using a crib sheet in the bouquet. But, whatever ya have to do to get through.

  • I remember how I used to look forward for the andy griffith show to come on......can't say I have that feeling about anything on tv anymore.

  • That's my dad announcing in the white shirt and jeans with the beard.

  • I have to go along ,

Maggie is still beautiful. I like to see the tv people from old times that still have class.

  • Wow--She still has a great voice! Thanks for posting.

  • This makes me said. I love the Andy Grifith Show! I love the Darling's, SO funny. Ernest T. was he best ever. This song is awsome!

  • Charlene is still HOTT !!!

  • Yeah she is...

  • The Darling episodes were the best.

  • THAT AMERICA IS FAR GONE, BUT! IT'LL BE ALRIGHT,when the smoke clears.

  • Alan, this is "possum under a rock".Hopped down off of the Porch for a minute & stumbled across this-it's great! Hope to get up to Mayberry Days sometimes. Looks like a good ol'time! Well,I'd best get back over to the Porch with Romeena,Spot the talking dog,Me-They,Big Maude & all the rest. Maybe Floyd will even show up!

  • You know Maggie was pretty on the Andy Griffith show. But she is one of those rare women who got even prettier as she aged. Never saw her looking better than this. And an excellent voice as well.

  • Yes, it's a good video, but I'm confused. Is that Hoke, who played the guy who married Charlene on the t.v. show, playing the part of Ernest T. Bass? Also, although Maggie looks and sounds great, it sort of ruins it that she has to read the words. I'm sure with an hour of rehearsal she wouldn't have needed them. She had sung that song when she occassionally made appearances on the road with the Dillards over the years, so it hadn't been 30 years since she'd sung it. Still, a great clip.

  • Actually at that time she hadn't sung There is a Time with the Dillards in years. Since then, she has but this was 1995. The first cast "reunion" live show was in 1991 at Opryland. Other than that, they hadn't performed together since "Return to Mayberry."

  • Is she having to look at the words?

She has such a wonderful voice.

  • Yeah, at the time she hadn't sung "There is a Time" for years so she needed a "cheat sheet" to make sure she didn't mess up the words.

  • my hero Ernest T Bass and the Darlings do sound good And Charlene what a babe

  • What an outstanding video! And Maggie sounds better than ever. This song always brought a little mist to my eye, thank you so much for posting this.

  • Loved her voice on the Andy Griffith video. And love it here. Such a fantastic song

  • GORGEOUS!!

  • shes is a very good looking lady!! WOW!

  • She doesn't look like she's aged a bit.

  • Hey I remember this song! I like the way she sings it.....,very nice.

  • wow, what a gem.

  • She looks terrific. What a great video!

  • its funny she still sounds so young. her voice kinda sounds innocent

  • WOW some singers voices diminish as they get older, but her voice sounds as young and beautiful as it was way back on andy.BTW she was and still is a beautiful woman, mother nature has been very kind to her.

  • Man!! She's still a looker. How many songsters today can sing with just a mike in hand and sound good?

  • Oh man!! It must have been such an honor to have Maggie (Charlene Darling Wash) and Hoke (Dudley Wash) at an actual wedding ceremony... and to have Maggie to sing! She's as beautiful as ever and Hoke... well, uh, uh, it was good to see him too!!

  • Wow. She still sounds great.

  • my only regret is that i can only give you 5 stars!

  • love to here her sing. but she must have forgotten the words. she kept lookin at the back of the bouquet. she still sounds great though.

  • Maggied only sang that song one time back on The Andy Griffith Show and at the time this was videoed 30 some years had passed. So, she needed the words to make sure she remembered them correctly.

  • great footage!

  • I love that song,,,,it is my favorite song of all time. So beautiful and her voice fits it just right. I never heard the full length version before this.

  • Maggie looks absolutely great! And her voice is still wonderful too. Just watched this episode last night--this song is beautiful. What a great show--what a great time--wish I could live in the show and leave today's world behind...

  • Is that Hoke Howell, the real Dud Wash?

  • Yes, that is Hoke Howell...the original Dud Wash. Bob Denver later played Dud.

  • Wow! How I wish more of these cast members were alive. Do you know if he ever attended Mayberry Days in Mt. Airy, NC? What a thrill it would have been to have met him!

  • WoW! She does... and Looks... Amazing

To bad the stars today you hear sing on video and then in person sound like two or three different people.

They don't mak'em like her anymore

  • She did sing just like she did on Andy.

I wish after she sung this,She could of broke into "Shady Grove"!!!

  • Wow! She sounds just like she did on Andy, and she has aged very gracefully. Good job, Charlene!!

  • What a voice! what a song! Thanks to post this. Long Live Charlene!
